Will cats take care of chipmunks?
Yeah. I'd like to turn ours loose but wife says no, more than likely cat be taken by something bigger and badder where we are and she don't have the right vaccines. I just pulled the hail cloth down all the way so they are mostly enclosed. Although I dont want them to refocus on the berries that are doing well, they certainly could get to them but the raised beds are/were easier access. I think I will put a perch up for the hawks too. Gotta get that green house built too it was 42F (5C) last night.

The string beans were/are still.....maniacal. It's been beanaggedon here for the last month. I've resorted to roasting them 1 heaped cookie sheet at a time....until half are crispy. Tossed in olive oil and some salt, baked at 375 for about an hour....they reduce greatly and are a delicious cold snack.
It's going to continue till frost as well :) well as long as I pick them everyday or two. Kentucky Wonder pole beans is what they are.

I looked on here to see if I could find any pictures of the "other" greens I grow, but I can't..... Generally if I'm growing other types of plants though, it's usually peppers I can't find anywhere, or can find and simply refuse to pay the prices asked; Giant Red Thai Chili, Ghost Peppers / Bhut Jolokia, I did a Trinidad Scorpion Pepper plant like two years ago, right next to my Carolina Reaper Peppers. Sometimes we have Squash, Corn, Beans of different sorts. Being German and Irish, to my surprise, last year was the FIRST time EVER growing Potatoes!..... Yeah, I know..... They were awesome though. Fiance just used tooth picks and a cup to keep half a Potato Wet, and then she put it in a "grow bag" that had a little side area to pull them out.

We usually have Tomatoes too, but one thing I'd REALLY like to grow, is Wheat; Not just ANY Wheat though, I'd want it to be Heirloom, where it wasn't bred for production and whatever else, but oldschool strains that made up a good chunk of the diet for our ancestors. I'd want the stuff that tastes good by itself. Honestly not even sure how I'd find it though LOL. I've seen a documentary or something like that where they had really old strains of Wheat and I want to taste that! Big fan of Bread, and having some Wheat to make my own from an older heirloom, would be awesome!

If you like ancestral veggies give Golden Bantam corn a shot.........it is the original "sweet" corn. It's pretty good too. Ears are not that long but fat enough and it will come true from seed. I did Silver Queens last year and they were great but the seeds are useless because it's a hybrid. I've ran the G Bantam before and was pretty happy with it and I think I'll order some.

Thank you! I don't think I've ever had that but sounds like something I'd enjoy.
