I've heard rubber boots referred to as Slave Lake Dancing Slippers. My sis lives in slave lake
Not getting him was part of the curse. Same with McDavid. If Toronto had of drafted Gretzky....would he have been sucked into the curse ??? probably... LOL
what do you change man...56 years....over a dozen coaches...management changes...every change...its a curse. Not getting him was part of the curse. Same with McDavid.
It's pretty ridiculous when you look at the talent that has played in the Center of the Universe over the decades, with bugger-all to show for it.
I was a Buds fan back in the 70s when they had such a great team(before the Oilers joined the league). Problem was the Habs and then Islanders dynasties were always better.
Do you think that little weenie Dubas (and his stupid glasses) will get canned? There have to be changes made, no?
one thing about slave lake though...man you can catch more pickerel (usa is Walleye) than you can ever eat...in very short order.I've heard rubber boots referred to as Slave Lake Dancing Slippers.
In northern Alberta we sacrifice lone Americans that we catch(think Children of the Corn, with spruce trees).I heard habs fans sacrifice baby ducks to make it happen...and chicks... But it might be a rumour

Ontario is plagued with overfishing..if you don't have a boat and you have a spot you take it with you to the grave...

How did you think we managed to get both 99 and 97?
The walleye/pickeral debate will never end in Canada, due to regional differences. Technically though, they are called walleye. There is no fish with the proper name "pickerel" anywhere near me.We have Pickerel here too though apparently they are confused with "Baby Pike"
They’re going to run it back with minor tweaks to the bottom of the roster and possibly (hopefully) a goalie. Dubas and Keefe aren’t going anywhere.what do you change man...56 years....over a dozen coaches...management changes...every change...its a curse.

proper poutine
I saw the HNIC( now there's an acronym with a VERY different meaning, depending which side to the Medicine Line you are on) panel saying the same thing. The management was safe, but they figured there would be personnel changes. They’re going to run it back with minor tweaks to the bottom of the roster and possibly (hopefully) a goalie. Dubas and Keefe aren’t going anywhere.

I believe you are referring to chain pickerel, which do look like pike but are much smaller.
Walleye are a different species and look very different but somewhere along the way, some people started calling them pickerel. /shrug
I know you spent time in Quebec, but just as an FYI, thinking of Quebec as representative of all of Canada is like going to Hawaii and thinking that is what the US is like.
Out here it's beef, preferably cooked over proper carcinogenic smoke, with baked spuds on the side .
For music, check out Spirit of the West, Mike Plume, Captain Tractor, the Arrogant Worms, k d lang, Disciples of Power, the smalls, SNFU, Mike McDonald, Junior Gone Wild, etc, etc.
B.C. is a very different culture from the Prairie Provinces. Quebec is literally a distinct society, per our constitution. Atlantic Canada has Cape Breton, Newfoundland, PEI, Labrador, and more, all unique and wonderful.
If you get a chance to get to any of those places, you will see that you've only begun to know Canada.
?
One thing about the leafs....getting out...i am going in that pool today to fish stiuff from the bottom,,,,the thermometer almost says 70....
And...i an a duma ss....and am going to do it.
i have trunks on...and that last boomer adventuer still haunts me....but i nibbled just a cap...t minus 60 and we are doing the backstroke....
I've caught sturgeon into the 30s and numerous 20 lb+ pike. I never worry too much about the name on my gear. Just about any reputable brand puts out decent rods and reels. I just look for sales on matched rod/reel combos in the proper weight. Also, since the river is very hard on gear(so much sand, and just rough travel), I tend to replace rods and reels after a few years so spending big isn't good use of money.I've got an Okuma Classic CLX-450-LA, a Penn 209M, a Penn Fathom Lever Drag 25, and a Penn Fathom Lever Drag 15, and I had an old Abu Garcia Ambassador 6000,

Terminal tackle, making and configuring rigs, reading the water, and presentation are far more important to me when I'm fishing.
I hope you find something you enjoy in there.I'll have to save that list you gave me of music, but have you ever checked out DOA ?
