I had a Tashkurgan with a helmet that stayed on and a few others too but generally I give them some time and a little bit of incredibly careful finger action (teehee!) And gently tug it (teehee!) Until it's loosened up. Haven't killed one yet thank God!

I purchased a tweezer set from Harbor Freight. 6 or 7 different styles. There is one I use on helmet head. This tweezer works in reverse, when you squeeze it, it opens up.

I've seen those recently, good idea?. I do something similar, I use forceps and my pocket knife to gently pry it open.
