Not sure where you are at, but there was in fact a mold going around in MI a couple years back that did just that. I saw it from a hand full of MI outdoor growers on RIU. I cant remember for the life of me what they determined it to be exactly, but I do remember it was some sort of mold. Not saying thats the issue your uncle is facing, but it sure looks just like what I saw in the MI outdoor thread.

Yes, it was in NY also, same time frame.
I think I remember seeing alot of folks up north having an issue like that awhile back.
Believe it was a fungus. @TerpyTyrone wasn't it some outdoor you had that did it too? Or am I remembering wrong?
I knew I'd read/ seen something like that not long back. Good to see I've not lost my mind yet. Lol

not arguing just shooting experience ( google disease or mold cannabis and tell me there’s a pic of that) i wanna see this “mold” that makes ur plant turn purple on new growth tops……. Not sayings not possible but at any stage u give cold water on a plant or unstable cold weather will always do that.
been a northern OD grower for almost 20 years and that’s def not a mold issue I’ve ever seen or seen online. Oh I seen people say they got disease or mold at end of season but it’s more of emviroment lockout on those factors so many of the time. fu gi is a major issue on defense and many issues can occur but to say it’s such without any fact is also critically wrong or a bad direction for IPM and/or knowing ur issue itself…

Google "purple top phytoplasma cannabis" and you will see plenty of examples that are an exact mirror of the symptoms that @HBZ farms uncle is experiencing. Seems to be mainly a North American issue in outdoor that has risen in occourance over the last 10 years or so.

Your prolly right and I’m def not arguing with you and thanks for the info. Thing that gets me is I’m in northern usa and never seen a garden or mine do that. Still doesn’t mean anything if pest pressure/infection related to result in disease issues.

That may have something to do with certain regional pests that are known transmitters of the pathogen. We dont have certain bugs in MI that states less than 600 miles away do.

I remember a couple of guys putting up pics that one year..either '19 or '20.........and I even killed one of my own plants that seemed to have it........I initially thought it was some kind of rot.......so kill first and question later. As I remember it, guys grew thru it, at least for a while. There's pic's somewhere.
