Not sure if anybody in the forum uses a air pump with stones or a vortex to add DO to your water? Have been reading on it and seen a vortex is the most effective way to do this. Also having the water at 16 c /60 f allows the water to hold more air but not to cold on plants. Also helps root rot from overwatering due to the increased oxygene. Aswell as the increased growth and health if the plant. Was looking at vortex brewer's but seems like they could be built fairly easy. Screenshot_20200604-201412_Drive.jpg

I have them but only used them once to help raise ph, but I use ro so it dosnt really change it. But after seeing this was going to start using again. I bought a 75 gal air pump I T'd to 2 airstones. They sell 5 gal versions under vortex brewers on amazon.

I run a 25l pump to four 2” stones @22”, 24 hrs a day in a circulator.
I have never had ph issues due to airstones.
This is a vicious rumor started by waterfall salesmen.

My 2 cents is this is only super critical in dwc systems, I started with dwc buckets and did the playing with warm water and cyanobacteria etc, in say a flood and drain it's more of a non issue as the roots are never submerged for very long, but in dwc most all of the air they take in is from contact with bubbles from all the digging I've done the roots are not very effecient at pulling oxygen out of water, so the more tiny bubbles you can get the more surface area of said bubbles will be exposed to root mass, so in dwc I'd oxygenate as much as is reasonably possible , it's been a non issue as of late since switching to f&d temps are 76 to 80 in the rez and the ladies are running as normal, honestly comes down to preference and your specific style of growing, lol more than 2 cents sorry lol ???

I'm speaking soil mainly. I havnt ventured into the hydro territory yet. I wish I could refind the article that started me on this. Just vortexing water before feeding. My only thought is dosnt the air kill organics? Like the good bacteria in the ff encap/guano?

Works on paper. My root growth stops around that temp.
It says that it warms fast enough it dosnt bother them much. Says feed first thing in morn(lights on) obv. About to pour concrete I will look for the page again when I get home.
