Paging @JL2G . I am getting ready to try and complete the exhaust air from the new tent. I am exhausting air from two 16 sq ft grow rooms. I already have a 4" roof vent in use for the one room. I put this dildo looking contraption together this evening. I wanted to run it past you to see what you thought before i install it. The end with the 4" reducer will be about 2 ' below the roof vent when in place. Okay at one end i have a 6"-4" reducer and attached to that is a 6" backdraft damper and to that a short piece of 6" duct attached to a 6" y connector. One run to the y connector is around 3' the other run will be closer to 10-12' in length Any thoughts? duct work 002.JPG .

Likely it will draw harder at the shorter run.
Might have to either do some intake adjustment for the tents to equalize the suction, or run a smaller size for the closer tent.
Did the one 4 inch keep the other tent in temp and RH range at less than full power?
The airflow in and out of that tent will be halved or less now. So something I'd consider, you prob already did knowing you. Lol

I have fan controllers at each fan so hopefully i will be able to adjust. Yes on the 4" with temps no problem( it is only 4" for about 3' starting at the roof vent. I did not have the damper installed on the old setup. The new grow space should not have heat issues.

Sorry i am just now seeing this @JL2G . Not exactly sure of the function yet. It will have full capabilities for flowering to drying. I had thought about running two flower rooms at the same time but not sure i want the extra work. I am going to use it to make things easier for what i currently have going. That AC infinity is bad ass with the ability to maintain climate control. I attached the smart controller to the front outside of the tent with heavy duty velcro. @JL2G i wish you would consider doing a write up on carbon filter capabilities. There is a ton of folks out there that do not understand the proper sizing of the filters. I had never even heard of single pass ratings until you got me straight. I was really surprised the single pass rating is only approximately 50% of the cfm rating.

+1 I'm one of those people. I still shamelessly run cheapo vivosun carbon filters and surprisingly they have been doing the job. Either that or I'm rolling into work stinking like I got attacked by rabid skunks farting spicy fruit and lemons lol.

Glad you got the controller mounted. Was worried the velcro backing wouldn't stick on the tent.

I found the super heavy duty velcro and before i stuck it in place i added a center strip of a strong glue to the back of the velcro before attaching it. The controller is not that heavy maybe a pound or two. I am not exactly looking forward to programing that sucker( as you know technology is not my strong point).

Nice. It's pretty much like a digital timer. I haven't programmed mine either, other than the alarm when it reaches a certain temp or humidity. There are so many more options to adjust fan speed when certain conditions hit and whatnot but I haven't found it necessary with my setup.
One thing I did notice was that there's a sticker/seal wrapped around the probe that needs to be removed or it won't read right. At first I thought it was a protector kinda like the clear seal they put on electronic screens so I just left it. After removal it read much more consistently with my standalone temp/humidity gauges.

I planned on doing a number of them, on different subjects including that one.
Really haven't had the time lately, alot of extra stuff going on this time of year. The time I have had my brains been pretty fried from doing all this tax stuff. PIA lol.
I have a cpa that does the actual taxes, but need to have things in order for her. Lol.
Until now I didn't realize just how fucked up my ex had made things biz wise from when she was doing the office work. I knew it was messed up, but holy hell bat shit I way underestimated her lack of filing and paperwork skills. Lmfao.

Looks like you have a well though out setup in the makes there @Capt. C. I like it.
I'm not finished experimenting with filters.
This run I ended up using a Vivosun 6" carbon due to my failed attempts on DIY filters and it vents directly into basement. I got to say I'm pretty impressed and I'm well into flower.
My wife don't even bitch....that's what I go by to tell how effective it is. Hehe
But I think some of that is also because I don't run high cfm through it. Don't really need to.

I have been fairly fortunate in controlling my odor, heat and humidity in my tent.
My basement stays 58-60° about 9 out of the 12 months. Mid 60's the other 3.
I've been using a bathroom style heater in one corner of the tent. The thermostat on all of them suck and are unreliable so it's plugged into a Inkbird ITC-308 Digital Temperature Controller. Works well except taking up 1 plant count. You wouldn't think with 500 watts of cobs and strips, it would be needed, but it runs a lot. I imagine I could set it outside tent and duct it in but have been leary/lazy of doing so.

I mainly use my exhaust fan to control humidity. I have a 70 pint dehumidifier in the open basement, so between the two I can keep the humidity in tent pretty spot on going by the VPD chart.

I think am going to buy a inkbird humidity controlled though and hook it to my exhaust fan for this next dry. It should enable me to keep a near perfect 60/60
environment for a better hassle free dry.
I may also try leaving it hooked up on my next run and see how that goes.

Yes @Capt. C what you say about 1 time pass ratings being about half of what the filters are actually rated.
Marketing scheme imho. Lol.
Currently what I'm running for air filters is an 8"×32" ish size can fan 100 filter, rated at 1000 cfm, a one pass of about 500.
With an 8" fan about 650 cfm constant flow recycling into and from my shop. It removes 90-95% of the smell with that level of airflow.
Then the shop vents to the exterior with a six inch about 4-500 cfm on a 12"×4' can fan 150 max filter. It's about 1700 cfm rated, or 850 for a full no odor scrub.
Fresh intake comes from my garage.
I got the filters for dirt cheap new at a close out grow shop sale. Refillable with my carbon stock supply.
My diy filter I had worked great, but when I upped the plant count dramatically I needed a bigger arrangement for higher airflow. Was simpler to buy one, and then refill as necessary when a recharge was needed.
My time involved being the key factor. Lol

Yea i am all in on the new ProFilter 75. Very heavy and fairly large but reversible and refillable sold me. I believe the 75's are around 800 cfm's. I had it installed on the new 4x4 Gorilla but was too concerned about the weight and wound up setting it on a 5 gallon bucket on the tent floor. Damn near takes the place of a plant but oh well.

Lol, thats where mine are too, on the floor. ???
That big one is 95 #'s, little one is 70#'s. There's a shit ton of carbon in those Bad boys. Lol.
I was going to have it up high out of the way, but said no thanks to myself. Lol. Its not a one man hang job, and I'm usually alone in the garden. Lol

I actually hung it by myself from the tent ceiling. Lots of slide rules and leverage :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:. The taking back down was a little harder and all for nothing. I want to say that PF 75 is over 70 lbs.

air gets blown out through the filter in my drying tent, and it seems to work just as well as being sucked through. edit: but its only a 2x4 tent and I have the same fans both blowing in and out of the tent. so its got a pretty even airflow.
