We've had a mask bylaw for months. As a result, this old man right here, who has very little physical vanity and often forgets to check the mirror before going out at the best of times, happened to notice this morning that his nose hair is almost long enough to braid. :snoop:

A few tweezer minutes later :cry:and my fu-manchu has been taken care of.

Any of you have any tales to share?

That's the dichotomy of being an old well seasoned man.

So many things happen as we graduate to this "new life" - my hair left the top of my head and migrated to my nose and ears,
My hairy ears ring with tinnitus from a few too many loud concerts in my youth.
I can finally grow a killer beard, but half of it is grey.
Changing from a seated position to a standing position requires a lot of sound effects - pops, cracks, grunts, groans --- and the occasional fart.
Kids call me "sir".... crap, I'm old.

On the good side:

Kids call me sir ... I can get away with a lot more than when I was their age.
I can use all those "...been doing this since you were a shine in your Daddy's eye." lines.
Dad jokes
Seeing the fear in the boyfriend's eyes when my daughter brings him home to meet me.
Kids let me have first pick of the waves when I surf.
The police ignore me. "Dirty car, kids, exasperated look on his face --- bet he WANTS to go to jail for a day or two."

I cut my hair when my ears start itchin, trim the brush when it gets in the way of the fork and never touch the beard other than run a comb through it once in a while.
Havent worn a mask not once.
Got 3 new QBs and a tent with stimulas money. Tent sucked, qbs a good investment.
A masked man rear ended us an totaled our truck and ran off.
All during the covid invasion.
Oh, and i gained 10lbs. Lol.

Been wearing a half mask 3M respirator with p100's on the ever more rare occasions when I go out. (P100's may not be ideal, but I know they will keep any moisture-borne particles in the air from getting through to me)

The newer silicone masks are far more comfortable than the old rubber ones, but of course they still seal tight against the skin. Consequently, acne like a teenager all around the mask seal. Oh yay.

Ah well, better zits than the virus.

My belly is also creeping back. So hard to be active in a restricted city. Not complaining, I'm happy that concrete action is being taken, but I personally have to figure out a way to get more exercise. I was biking 50+ km/week all spring, summer and parts of autumn, but since November or so I've been a lump.

On the positive side, I've been slowly DIYing an ice fishing sled and a wooden storage unit with a removable front to hold my gear and electronics on the sled. Generally I get about halfway through these projects and I get impatient and put them in service before completing all the small details. I'm taking time to finish this one and it's coming together nicely.

I'm blessed to live in a town on the fringe of suburbia - so I've resorted to my favorite socially distant / anti-social activity - paddling a kayak.
Amazing how fast muscle just melts - I was pretty sedentary for a couple months. I put a few miles of flat-water on the other day and I'm STILL sore!

Good on ya! You are so lucky to have that opportunity. Due to a bunch of circumstances, my canoe never hit the water in 2020. :(
