Greetings to everyone at pH and beyond. I hope you and yours are well lit and making it a good one!
1-28-20, 56 days from the soak. A top dressing of worm castings was applied. 1 cubic foot of castings that started as leaf mold was worked over for 2+ years by red worms. It was mixed with 1/2 cup of mealworm frass and 1/2 cup of kelp meal. Each plant bag was topped with 2 cups of the casting mix. A little cover crop of mixed greens (arugula, broccoli, mustards and radish) was sown also. This was watered in well using rain water from a pump sprayer.
1-29-21, 57 days from the soak. All the plants were examined for gender. Most but not all are showing enough to be sure. There are a few potential ladies I labeled (F?). A few potential males labeled (M?). Means the shape of the sexual organ looks female or male but without pistils or being too small to be 100% sure.
1-30-21, 22 cubic feet of recycled soil was amended for the upcoming flower run. The following amendments were added per cubic foot.
- 1/2 cup Kelp meal.
- 1/2 cup Mealworm frass.
- 1/4 cup Alfalfa pellets ground to a fine dust in a blender.
- 1/4 cup Freeze dried crab meat, powdered. Human grade. Contains 34% phosphorus. Sourced from a restaurant that was throwing it out due to being out of date.
- 1/8 cup Crustacean meal.
- 1/8 cup Neem meal.
- 1/8 cup Gypsum, prilled.
- 1/2 cup Bio char, ground to a fine dust in a blender. A mix of Fir and Oak from the wood stove.
Photos from 1-31-21. The tops of the plants are a little mangled from me doing another gender check. A few plants look a bit ragged from a really hot initial mix. All the plants were replanted into a different mix from recycled soil from the last flower run. They seem to be responding well since.
Blue Sunshine, #1F, #2?, #4M* (he was kept for a potential pollen donor.), #5F, #6M, #7F, #8M. The numbers 6 and 8 males were culled. The #4 male is top left. The larger plants were topped after this photo.
Peach Hashplant, #2M?, #3F, #4F?, #5F, #6M, #7F, #8F, #9F, #10F, #11F, #11F. Lots of ladies in this bunch. Lots of A-semetrical growth and lots of peach scented plants too.
Tashkurgan, #1M, #2?, #3F, #4F?, #5M*, #6M*, #9M?, #10F?. The number 5 and 6 males were kept for a future reproduction. Those are the larger 2 plants top left...strong berry scents. The rest of the males will be culled. There are 2 more packs of these in the fridge waiting for the right time. I'd like to do an outdoor ascension here at 46.5* north latitude.
Mazar/Black Triangle x Kashmir Azad,
#1?, #2?, #3M, #4?, #5?, #6F?, #7?. These beans were soaked 12 days after the first batch. So they are a little behind. These are testers for potential release.
