The light on the left in this photo was a DIY light I built earlier this year. Uses the Samsung LM561C diode strips from Ebay, coupled with a single Meanwell 240H-C1400-B driver. Frame was DIY using angled aluminum. It's a kick ass light.

If you're doing one yourself make sure to get some thermal tape (unless the heatsinks come with it already applied). You'll also want some wago connectors, and a power cord to hard wire. Also a waterproof junction box is worth the $5-$7 you'd pay for one on amazon. Oh, and some 18 gauge wire. And you'll also need something to mount the heatsinks too, so figure another $20-$40 in aluminum for the hardware store.

Here's a closer view. Just in case this photo helps you in any way.

As you can see I'm running 6 strips at 240 watts @ 1400mah. If you build a light with those strips, I recommend not exceeding 1400mah. I believe you can run them on a 1750 driver but that's kind of pushing it. I fried 2 strips running them at 2100 on a previous build.

12 strips at 600 watts is pushing each strip at 50 watts each, that's a bit too hot for my liking. If you're going to run 600 watts then it might be a good idea to bump up to 15 strips.

when mounting these, how far apart would you mount the strips? What would the coverage area be with this setup? I’m seriously debating on purchasing these parts!

@JL2G ?
I'm not sure the spacing but I inquired about heatsinks and the guy told me that over 1400mA to use an.
They come with 8 @ 2700 and 4 @ 5000k I believe. The 5000k would make a great veg light. I'm not sure what 5000k would do in flower. Probably not,much. Do yourself a favor get the lrs350-36 and put em in parallel. U wont regret it!

I've never ran em before so I'd not be sure, but I'd guesstimate 6 to 8 inches.
Be an easy figure though if you've got even a cheap light meter and the strip to power up.
Just see what it reads at a set distance directly under it. Then move it outside of the strips footprint until you've got half of the same reading.
Measure that distance.
Double that distance or slightly less, and there's your perfect even coverage with no hot spots.
