G's Auto-Neurotic Adventures

Starting this thread to document my adventures with autoflowers. As uou can tell from the title these make me a little edgy. I am an oldschool reg photo kinda guy. Ruderalis has been a dirty word, reminiscent of headaches and siberian ditchweed. Things have changed, I see the errors in my thinking and am going to start exploring what these have to offer, albeit infrequently. The first will be from Twenty20 mendocino as a part of The Great American Auto Race. I also have some from Freak genetics to play with. I will post when we are kicking things off.

Gonna follow along for the ride, good luck although you don’t need it, you already put in the work with photos. One tip I learned the hard way, you cannot make a mistake in veg. you will pay for it in flower, no time to correct it.

Best of luck to you on the new adventure! There are no mistakes, only learning opportunities. :)

I've only grown a few autos, probably under a dozen, and not for quite a long time. There are a few in the vault that I really should run while they are viable. I'll be following along and looking for tips.

Been thinking about these twenty20 autos and decided that i will do a little comparative grow with them. After the soak they will be direct sown. 1 of each will get a beautiful 5 gal pot with my stardard soil mix. The other will go into the dirt in my veggie garden. My garden is not "clean" they will contend with pests, pm for sure, and lierally garden variety dirt. I am sure there will be plenty of pampered and spoiled lil girls out there to look at for beauty shots. I want to see how she fares.

Can’t help but root for the one gutting it out in the real world!
I’m stuck inside.

Busy times. The girls have been outside for about 10ish days, things are a bit muddled due to sleep depravation. Npt growing super vigorously but temps have been cooler at night still and they got an unexpected 5 day drought when he little dude got here. Still they are upright and game. I don't expect tht they will yield much, but that is on me not them. I will be more focused on flavor and potency when I judge these, as well as structure. They may still surprise me.

Damn I have been slacking. Busy times in these parts. My trizzlers is almost finished about 10-15 days to go. She has a mild case of pm. I would not say she is susceptable as she has had a giant artichoke plant riddled with pm inches from her for weeks. A spot here or there, nothing that some plant therapy will not handle with ease. Smells good with nice trich coverage. 20210622_062805.jpg
The trizkit just started flowering after 2 months of vegging. It is feeling more like a reg at this point. Tall lanky wispy structure that i do not care for much. If she doesn't blow me away with her terps I might just chop her. 20210622_062846.jpg

They look pretty good from here. I used to dabble with photos many moons ago, when it was Skunk bud...lol. But the Autoflowers have grabbed my attention and I'm looking forward to getting started in the near future. I have seen amazing results from these things and joining the club soon. Did these come close to meeting your expectations?

I started with low expectations as a full season photoperiod kinda guy. The trizzlers ehhh it was ok, smelled really good but didn't get very big or yield much. The Trizkits hit about 5 ft and yielded pretty well. I treated them more like a guerilla grow and didn't feed them much, so my results were a bit skewed. I have one more seed of each and a few from other breeders that I will check out. That said, I don't see myself buying any autos ever.
