Herijuana (preservation thread) & Strawberry Kush in a 4x8

Well, kind of. --- They're going to veg in a 4x4 until another crop harvests.

On 420 I plated 11 Herijuana seeds from the preservation run (also plated Strawberry Kush):

A growmie has agreed to use his 4x2 for the best Heri boy & girl - 1st crack at a seed run.
I'm also running some new equipment and methods, so I'm sure things will get messy soon:
4x4 veg tent --- I finally have two tents and enough lights for both (mostly...)
- The Veg tent has (2) Viparspectra lights pulling 260 & 270 at the wall.
4x8 flowering
- Has two 18"x36" Growdaddy panels with 6 bars each; as well as the remainder of my burples until budget allows more upgrades.

04/25 Heads Up! Lights on in the veg tent.
---quick rewind - 11/11 Herijuana germinated(!) on - 4 paper towels (2 top, 2 bottom) and 2 coffee filters (top & bottom, in contact with the seeds). The thick paper towel layers hold moisture well, and tap roots don't seem to stick as much to the coffee filters ---- just make sure to leave a marked tab for separation, like I forgot to do! :stoned:

Planted the Heriuana 2 days ago -- the Strawberry Kush just now - I really wanted to get them done on the same day - 2 of them shed their shells on the plates! Hope that doesn't cause any problems.....
The top rack (12) are Strawberry Kush (SK), the 11 along the bottom are Heri. Currently under 260W burple, increasing to 530w after everybody has true leaves.

No pic, quick update.
Heri - 10 of 11 have broken the soil and are getting first true leaves
SK - 12 of 12 broke soil and are starting to grow - one seedling has its cotes stuck together - I might try to separate them if I see the others get true leaves before they separate.
------------------------------------
The big flaw in my "strategy" has dawned on me: These growbags go directly into their 5 gallon homes --- pretty sure I can barely squeeze 12 in there if I crowd them....
If that's the case, then the SK will be flowered earlier.

It's pretty amazing with those Herijuana seeds. After I harvested them, I thought that they looked so measly that they would never germinate. Happily my thoughts were wrong.

I ran a vipar spectra 1200 (520 actual watt) &it performed better than I thought it would I ended up hacking it & making a 480w cob light out of it using it in my 4x4 tent

I saw that thread - I have a burple on it's last leg that might be a good candidate for a COB or strip rebuild - I'm still re-arranging the Flower tent for even spread.
The pair of Vipars are enough to flower with, but I'm trying to run the 4x4 as a veg tent and the 4x8 for flower - Hopefully I'll be close to perpetual in a few grows.

The Heri seeds are TINY and pale - much more than the Strawberry & OG Kush I've been growing - 11 out of 11 germmed, one damped off (I think); so I have 10 Herijuana going.

Given their appearance - tiny & pale - I didn't think I'd get 100% germ rate. Managing the crowd to come will be fun!

It continues to blow everyone away..I am still in shock at how well they do considering how bad they look.
Happy growing to all and plz keep us updated.

The male that I chucked outdoors is on the smaller side, but should drop pollen in a week or 2. The original pollen is finally kaput, and I have been busily chucking away..LOL

The strawberry cush seems interesting too

The SK came from a growmie of mine. He'd been running them for a while and they kept hermming on him - me too on my first grow.
Not sure of the "how" but they're feminized - I've had one genetic herm (skirt of white pistils and big ole sets of balls underneath) - but no males. (no bananas either, come to think on it)
I switched to flowering under 11.5 / 12.5 (minus one hour of light) and haven't had herms since . This is my 4th grow under this light sched., so I figure I'll either confirm or debunk that theory by harvest.

Other than that, it grows well, fairly short (even without LST / topping) and dense.
The "Strawberry" comes out during curing as a strong, distinct strawberry jam scent while burping the jars.
Eventually the jam scent fades and is replaced by classic, funky kush and a little hash spice --- maybe a hint of berry here & there. (more funk than OG Kush)
Taste follows nose - classic, straightforward WEED flavors - even a hint of skunk on a few plants.
I've never had it tested, but when put head to head with top-shelf dispo the Strawberry is in a league of its own --- friends & neighbors tell me that unsolicited.

The sugar trim & larf make great hash too - I ran 4 ounces through (3) bubble bags (73u, 160u, 220u) and yielded 19g using dry ice - a bit less with ice water (I could have done better)
Medically, it's a warm & giggly high at lower doses - major brain fog, but nice muscle relaxation at high doses (edibles & hash), ends on a sleepy note.

What have you guys done to me?
I spent my first few grows like a good lil noob - looking for herms on my feminized seeds. I kept a beautiful sorority house of sweet virgin smoke!

Now look at me! Just look what you've done! :stoned:
Different strains, regular seeds, reading on breeding while I get a THIRD tent ready for the matrimonial couple (in the 4x4 vegging now). WHO AM I???

I went from posting nervous, "is this a male?" threads to --- "wow, that's quite a set of balls you have there, sir!" --- talking to you, @Buzzer777 !
Sorry, can't resist 8th grade humor.

Thank you guys so much for the guides, encouragement, and now plants. I can't wait to get a seed run going!
Lights on shot from yesterday (converted to B&W)
The Heri (bottom 2 rows) are vigorous growers, about 2x the size of the SK (top 2 rows) for now. IME, SK has a bit of a rough seedling life, then explodes mid-veg.
Probably up-potting when leaves start clearing edges of pots --- 5 gallon fabric pots with FFOF / 25% perlite.

Chucking pollen is so much fun.
Just a note; I have never had a Herijuana plant show sex before being flipped. In fact I had to take cuts and put them in the flower room before I was sure. I have GUESSED wrong each time I tried to tell by structure.
Here is a cross between @HydroRed Citrus MILF (gifted by @jaguarlax) x @stanknugzz77 Tropicana Cookies.
Chopping her now as I type.

I feel your pain, you just need a "grow card" credit card and it'll work it's self out.
