Co2 help

Hey all, so I have finally broke down and am now running co2 in one of my areas. 4x4. Nor having any issues really within this first week +, but I do have a couple of questions, things on my mind I can't seem to get a straight answer on. This area, currently, is perpetual autos. I'm hearing a lot about cutting co2 a couple weeks before harvesting. Obviously an issue in perpetual. I've run it over and over in my head so much I've now talked myself into a split decision on the sense behind cutting it off. Hahaha. So anyone with experience running co2 want to hangout with me for a sec and let me pick your brains? Much appreciated, as always I wish all of you in computer land the best of luck. Stay safe out there, and remember - - - Treat others the way you want to be treated, and you've you're duty. It's that easy. Take care everyone, I look forward to chatting it up.

I run co2 all the time because I'm in an almost sealed room. If I don't, my ppms get down into the low 100s & the plants really show it.

Me too , once my plants go into sealed room aka GR2 than I run my co2 to 700-900ppm in veg and gradually raise according to demands and ppfd

Has anyone run co2 through harvest or do you all cut before? That's a question I've been searching for an answer. Preferably with something to back it up, like I've been doing it for years no one complains, or I've tried both ways, cutting early and running co2 through harvest, and no difference. That kind of thing.

I have read about RuBisco handicap'n before.
,,,Dont know how I feel about it.

Perhaps in perpetual one could frame the question as : is it helping? Is it harming ?

Say,,,,
- One plant is in week 3, the other is in week 9.
-CO2 is still being supplemented

Is this helping week 3 plant?
~ Yes
Is it helping week 9 plant ?
~ perhaps not
Is it harming week 9 plant ?
~ perhaps not

For myself,, My Dec. harvest ran 5000+ ppm right up until the day of harvest. Would I recommend this ?
No.
Did it have horrendous negative effects ?
No.

Could one say that supplementing CO2 in late flower makes no economical sense ?
,,,but it may make practical sense ,,
and I have not seen horrendous negative effects.

Im pretty familiar with using co2, not from experience though. But I did and do my homework before I get into something like that. That finishing question is a big one I'm having.

I follow. I personally am not seeing how running co2 through harvest would ruin flavor and terp profile, which is what I seem to be hearing mostly. Other than possibly adding to sugar leaf production, and or thicker leaves due to co2 addition.

When I ran co2 in a sealed room many moons ago, the major thing that changed for me was how much less I spent on co2 by reducing to like 300 ppm late flower but I wasnt perpetual. In regards to perpetual, Im with what @Jewels posted about help/harm. If the ones in early stage of flower require the higher ppm of co2, and theres no neg effect on the late flower plants -then its worth continuing without change. Certainly if end product is good. A great way to find out is to monocrop clones from 1 strain for a couple cycles and change your co2 levels for both veg and flower and see if you can tell a noticable difference between the 2 at harvest.

Agree. I highly doubt I'm going to wake up one morning to a wasteland. So I'm running 1000 ppm as well. High level of co2 atmosphericaly (did I just make that up?), but not outside the ability of cannabis, if you follow. I appreciate the reassurance. Sometimes that's all you need. I believe we're all smart people inherently, just depends on what distractions you focus on while on your journey dictates your outcome. Man I'm stoned. Much love and appreciation to everyone here. Quick to help as always, with educated posts, as always. Best of luck to each and all, be safe and take care.

Do you mind me asking what your main reason to stop co2? The hassle?

I changed spots and wasnt in a sealed room anymore. It wasnt until I moved that I realized my gains werent worth the hassle or $ spent on filling bottles. I never cared to set up another sealed room again once I stopped.

I have a strange suspicion that's similar to what is going to happen to me as well. I'm not willing to admit it yet, as I just spent a bit on it. Luckily, I got a hell of a deal from cbd grow that shut its doors. So it hurts a little less. The tanks aren't too pricey to fill, for me it's the hassle. It seems to be limiting to me in my situation. Thank you all for your replies. Indebted as always.

Get a co2 generator. It cost me roughly $10 a month & I never have to fill tanks ?
What is generating the co2 at $10 a month? At the rate I'm currently been on for the last week and half ish, I'll be spending about $30 a month on co2, maybe a bit less in a years time as I'll probably make it just over a month. Also, temp is a big concern. I run in the 4x4, a Growers choice roi-e680, it gets pretty warm sealed up. I have the roi e420 for that area as well, but with the co2, the 680 seemed like the better option for this run. Temps get up there though. I'm hitting 90 frequently. Humidity stays in the 50's more than not. Well, I dabble in the low 60's on occasion hahaha.

My setup is run on natural gas. Generator & controller cost around $500, paid for itself within a year compared to tanks. You'll need to do more research into it cuz only you know what will work/fit in your setup & there are a few variables to consider.

Yeah, exactly, that's why I went with tanks. The heat is already been my enemy every summer. I really appreciate your help. I have a strange feeling this co2 gear ends up in the land of misfit grow equipment I have going on. Hahaha. But hey, it's fun to play with. It's giving me something new. I'm a giant child so I need toys constantly. Haha. Take care my friend. Again, much love for your input, putting out good vibes for you and yours.

I cant see it either. Elevated CO2 simply helps atmosphere cross the stomata.

Nah, tell that to the leaf-less Charastar.

Not much sugar to be had.
