Took Some Cuts, and Some Pics

Took some pictures this morning to document my cloning process. It's not the only way, or the best way, it's just my way. What I like about my method is it requires little time/effort, and most of the supplies should be readily available around the house.

Supplies Needed:
  • Dirt/Soil. Nothing too "hot"
  • Solo Cups
  • Mykos
  • Cloning gel/powder
  • popsicle stick
  • Sandwich bags
  • rubber bands

Prep work. Cut drain holes in the Solo cups, and fill around half way with moist, not wet, soil.

Make a little hole where the clone will go, and fill with Mkyos, making sure to get it wet all the way through.

Get a glob of cloning gel ready, take the cuts, dip them in cloning gel, and plant directly into the Mykos.

Lastly use a sandwich bag as the humidity dome secured with a rubber band

Keep everything moist and in 2-3 weeks you should have rooted clones. Slowly begin removing the sandwich bag for a couple hours at a time until the rooted clone is acclimated.

Nice write up. ???
My methods are very similar, works quite well imho. The simplicity of it is why I use this method as well.
The only real difference I do is to use clear solos as the dome topper.
I cut out a hole at the top and put some window screen over it, holds humidity but let's some air exchange happen. Screen keeps out any potential bugs that may be about, no fungus gnats atm, but if there were they couldn't get my babies. Lol.
I use pretty much the same solo cup/lid containers for seed popping too.

Thanks! Nice tip on the clear Solo cups. Yeah definitely keeps things simple, and with the clones in separate cups they can easily be moved around/stuck in the corner of a grow tent, etc. They really require almost no attention except for misting the inside of the bag, if it even dries out at all.

Another thing I forgot to add that I like to do is use a clear solo with a drain hole in the bottom for the cut to sit in, and then keep that one sleeved in a regular non clear one for light blocking purposes. Then you can slide off the outer one to look at any root developement thats happening, pretty neat to see happening.
