Flying Dog. 8.7% alky.an imperial IPA, not bad at all.

Hi, I'm a pro brewer by trade, ironically my head brewer used to brew for FD, small world. What kinda beer do you like? For big IPAs like that, I'd recommend the obvious first, which is Pliny the Elder from Russian River, consistently rated the best in the world for the style but notoriously difficult to find. Stone Brewing has a few good options that're more widely available, so does Bell's. It's also hard to beat the OG classic Sierra Nevada pale ale, albeit not as intense as the DIPAs.

I'll keep am eye out for that one. Stone brewing at one time had a Mocha IPA.....omg, was that good. The local beer distributor and me made a deal....he had 20 cases and I bought all of them. Right after I am an official addict, they discontinued it. That was seriously good!!!!!!!!!!

If you like that one try their "Raging Bitch", it's a double hopped IPA. Very yummy.
Breckenridge Brewery "471 IPA" is another favorite.

I'm a large consumer of craft beers... used to drink a lot of DIPAs but these days I find my sweet spot is the 5-7% ABV pale ales. Also getting into lagers more. Big fan of all the Zwicklelagers that have been popping up.

Treehouse, Great Rhythm, Bissell Bros and Zero Gravity are some favorite breweries.

Also, as mentioned, hard to go wrong with a Sierra Nevada. Both the Pale Ale and Torpedo are just so reliable.

Recently tried a few from these guys. Good but all their beers kind of taste the same lol. This one was the standout, but of course it's a rotating hop series so it will taste completely different next time lol

Original Coors.
Now if ya wanna talk wines well,,, there be some vinter's in the family.
Just to throw this out there, of all the big brand domestics, the Banquet Beer is absolutely my favorite. Also it genuinely tastes different in Colorado. I had a few friends from out there who always swore Coors was better on tap in Colorado and I thought it was just some state pride thing, then I was out there for a wedding a couple years ago and they were 100% correct

Everyone in the craft scene shits on the macro lagers but they're incredibly hard beers to make well, there's a reason they sell so damn well!

Honestly, most of the brewers I know are envious of their ability to produce so much product with such consistency. It's mostly the consumers who like to shit on them lol. But seriously, the technology and craft required to crank out lagers like that on that scale is incredible, whether their my favorite beers or not

consistency

I did a few home brews myself, as have a few close friends, and that was the general consensus from anyone I got advice from.
It's not exceptionally difficult to make great tasting beer at home.
But, can you make the same beer, again.

In Da U.P. of MI, there are a handful of really good local micro breweries, and I frequently enjoy many of their offerings.

Do you home brewers brew old school into bottles with the Xmas tree drying rack etc or into kegs. I've gotta get back into it. I started off into old school then moved to 23lt kegs CO2 system
Kegs were easier to clean fill and drink and no extra cost for bottle lids and lid pressing. Gee that was fun lol
