1:1 CBD-THC "daddy bud" strains

I would greatly appreciate any info or experience on 1:1 strains, mainly for folks who have not smoked for a long while, and find modern strains way too strong and overpowering, perhaps due to lack of tolerance and experience and/or high proportion of thc and lack of cbd..?

(Or with an analogy, perhaps modern strains are strong as liquour, when some folks would rather enjoy a beer or two..)

I thought 1:1 strains might fit the bill, as cbd balances the thc, so I´ve been told at least.

Perhaps some old school landrace hashplants with cbd would be useful as well, what do you fellow hunters and huntresses think?

Got these the other day, planning to run them as soon as my grow setup is finalized, still missing bits and bobs..

Had this nice scraggly pheno, figured it was Juanita leaning,,,
Did pretty much nothing for me, as day smoke.
Perhaps my evaluation was skewed by my tolerance,,, my wife tried it out, after a long break. Hit her right between the eyes~ Deadlegs. She had to stop for a little breathing break halfway back to the house. I felt the need to escort her up to the second floor.

Last year, she could dust an ounce of SourTangie in a few days.
How the mighty have fallen.

That specimen could have NOT been a true 1:1.
These will be my next CBD go~around.
Still Sativa in presentation, but more consistently 1:1

Sprinkle in a bit of Afghan. and I guy would have a nice entourage salad.

Start low and go slow.

Ive grown several CBD varieties over the years. All of the 1:1s have produced a noticable head change, most feel like a sativa type high for me, most notably the Canna Cheese, Crack CBD, and Mango Haze. The rest have been neutral or slightly mellowing, but not enough for me to say indica in nature.

CBD Crew Mango Haze 1:1
Fastbuds Crack CBD 1:1
Seedsman Dr. Seedsman 30:1
Seedsman Pink Kush CBD 20:1
Seedsman Purple Kush CBD 1:1
Mephisto Canna Cheese 1:1
Sin City Seeds Treasure Island 1:1 (I think that was the name, it was AC/DC crossed with something if I recall)

Currently growing a Varin's G THCv:CBG 1:1, and plan on revisiting the JEM (CBG) open pollination to attempt to bring the CBG into some Twenty20 Vidamints 3:1/1:3, Mephisto Canna Cheese 1:1, and maybe the Fastbuds Crack CBD 1:1

I use my CBD strains to make balms for pain for my family and friends, as well as smoke and edibles for the wife and I. She smokes CBG, CBD (30:1) and CBD/THC (1:1) during the day, and THC and CBG at night. I smoke THC all day, and pepper in some 1:1 for its health benefits. Ill finish her CBG bowls for the same reason.

I hope some of this was useful.

I swear that some of us just lose our tolerance with age. I honestly can't handle much THC at all anymore. Don't get me wrong, I still love it when I first take a drag, but after about an hour it screws with my anxiety really bad. I've tried some 1:1 before and even that was strong enough so I couldn't really enjoy much without having anxiety issues. If you find the 1:1 too strong then I would recommend looking into some quality CBD hemp flower seeds. I've only grown one strain so far (Charlotte's Box from Hoku Seed Co) and it came out amazing. The taller phenotype came out really smooth with great terpenes and a full joint just relaxes me. The shorter phenotype came out a little hot in the THCA dept (I'm assuming) because I actually get a little high off of it if I smoke a full joint. Some good CBD hemp flower breeders to look into would be Hoku Seed Co, Old Country Hemp Co, and Hill Family Genetics. I'm going to be running some T1 from Old Country in my next run.

I had a clone only called Star Tonic for many years, tested around 9% THC 15% CBD. It was very nice relaxing smoke, impossible to smoke too much.

Eventually I killed it off to get rid of a thrip infestation. All I have left of her are 4 seeds, star tonic x baox (CBD hemp).

I'm growing out some Cherry Wine, its a high cbd strain with leser thc, im going make tincture from tham and give that a try for what ails me during the day.
My tolerance is,through the roof.
I eat 3 black holes at a time, but microdosing with tincture has worked wonders this year.

All you describe fits me to a tee.
I didn’t use cannabis for thirty years. And when I came back to it I was reminded what a light weight I was/ I am.
I wanted to return to weed for the medicinal effects and the first strain I grew was a Seedman's strain called "Kush and Cookies CBD". It was listed as a 21% THC and 19% CBD, so basically a 1:1 strain.
Fast forward 1 1/2 years and it is still my favorite that I have grown.
So you may be thinking, he said he was a light weight and yet his favorite strain is high THC...
Well, that's because I don't smoke, or even vape, I just use edibles.
I prefer the even onset and the duration of the high. I can take as little, or as much as I desire, usually 4-8 mg.
If a huge bong rip is a rocket, then microdosing edibles is an escalator. A nice gentle ride, lifting you to where you want to go.
One of the other benefits of edibles, IMHO, is the ability to mix and match as desired. Meaning if I have five strains of canna butter, I can select 2 or more and at whatever ratio I want and brew a batch of caramels.
I firmly believe that CBD mixed with the THC has its benefits, at least for me.
If you should have any questions, just reach out.
Cheers,
WillieP

Right there with you Willie. My tolerance has completely gone and I'm dosing up slowly too. After my operation a few weeks back I was taking a bit more for the pain and it was bliss. I'd get a bit bent and cruise through it. Oil is wonderful. A 10:1 ratio makes it easy to dose up without easily overdoing it, and get the benefit of all the CBD for what ails you.

Pennywise was a really popular 1:1 I believe, Greenman Organic still has beans. Unfortunately my last order including some Deep chunk got nabbed by customs.

CBD Hashplant is up shortly. I get harrassed every time I grow something with hashplant, the old vets love it and scream for more.

I've just ordered Ace's CBD#1 and some Sour Tsunami hopefully this lot will make it.

Great thread idea, it'll be great to see some more 1:1 and high CBD grows.

OK bro,
I also have mega tolerance issues. My meds are working great for me but, it's probably been 2-3 years since I actually got 'Wasted'. Edibles get me the closest at this point.
You have piqued my curiosity, "Black Holes"? Gimme a clue, please.

Black holes are a brand of local gummies, our kids give us old folks some packs once in a while.
