Bitch away man, feels like everyone is ignoring the purple elephant in the room but them clones screwed me something serious so I was surprised how long folks were willing to keep trying with them. I did a hard reset in May and couldn’t get seeds to pop til June and only just got things flowering. It’s okay to be sad and angry over this for a bit because a lot of time and emotions go into growing. Hopefully that camping trip helps and when you get back things are better.

edit: My suspicion is the Alien Og was the main culprit

Thanks AA! Yeah, you've had a rough year so far too. I had thrips and gnats before the clones and the aphids came well after. But I'm done bringing clones in for now anyways. I don't enjoy keeping mothers and cloning right now. Maybe when I have more space and am better at it. But I'd rather just get S1s if I want one of the "elite" strains at this point.

I actually think the root aphids came from when I changed plugs. I was using rapid rooters with no issue, when I switched to root riots from the zon is when the aphids showed up, and a friend who also ordered them had the same issue at the same time. But it's always just a guessing game. There's so many variables. I had my window open and didn't realize the screen had been pushed out until I saw a bunch of moths flying around. For all I know these little shits literally climbed in through the window one night.

I hope you get your groove back. I made it an extra job as well and the plants suffered, the gnats pollinated 2 grows in a row because I let my guard down being lazy/tired from living at work and biting off more than I can chew. I am seriously considering not growing in the summer so I dont get overwhelmed. My life is too hectic right now and that takes a lot of the fun out of it. I like following your thread. I only follow a a few because I cant keep up.

Well I really appreciate that man. I'll be back on track soon. I did the same thing, went a little too hard this year. Everything was going so well, thought it would last forever lol. Gonna do better going forward. Gonna make my IPM habitual, find some way to automate some stuff so it's not so hands on and those long work days don't interfere as much. Spend some money on better equipment instead of more seeds haha

Always painful to see a brother struggling...

It's been a rough year or so for most of us, and in so many aspects it seems. I'm right there with, and feeling, you brother. I believe that those of us that are meant to persevere, will... You are without a doubt included!

I've been through so many battles as of late, not only in regards to the garden... which is my life, my passion...but also just life period...
...family...cancer...death, backwards ass society in general... Shits fucked up! But I still believe there is light at the end of the tunnel and people like you n I will shine when the time comes.

We just have to remember to keep our heads up and keep sticking to our roots of love n positivity... We will find balance and happiness, it's bound to happen. I know it can be a daunting task, but, for what it's worth, I believe in you GC! Keep your head up bro?

Much appreciated brother. Ya, like I said, I know it will be all good in the long run. Just hate putting in all the work and not seeing the results I hoped for.

Have to say too, after seeing the smoke blanketing @GthaEnigma garden it really puts things in perspective. At least I have no fear of possible evacuations and it doesn't look like a zombie movie outside my window. Makes me feel kind of silly for getting all bent out of shape about my shit.

We all just need to keep trucking along and everything will be alright.

@Gentlemancorpse I was reading a bit about the Black Apple today and thought of you. Did you officially pull the plug on everything, or is there still hope? It has the potential to have a fantastic effect....
I pulled the plug. One threw sacs and the other just wasn't do anything. I want to finish out the last few plants I have going here before I restart and I could tell she wasn't gonna get there. Would have been a waste of time and resources. I'll circle back on them at some point, I do love the idea of that cross.

Sounds like your having a bad run at the moment mate. Tough times don't last tough people do. Chin up
Thanks Frosty! I know it'll turn around. It was just getting frustrating, that was like 4 bad cycles in a row. Better part of a year of growing. But I did still pull some good bud out and i know it'll get back on track. Doing some more deep cleaning today, and I'm finally gonna drop the Bahlki (just a full month behind schedule...)

Brother, I went through the same spell of shit luck. (2) different projects down the drain and about a year wasted on those 2 projects along with sterile pollen from clone reversals etc. Its gonna feel 2x as nice once you get everything back on track -which sounds about where you are now.

Thanks Red. I'm already feeling better about everything now that I've lightened my workload a bit. If these last few plants make it to the finish line great, but if not it's not the end of the world. The Black Mamba from @Amos Otis, your Citrus MILF and Purple Gypsy from Stray all finished with some good yields even if they weren't too pretty at the end, and all are shaping up to be some nice smoke, so the stash is secure for the time being.

Quick update I guess since I'm here. I've got 12 plants left in flower in the 4x4. The gnats got them pretty bad and I'm not sure if they'll all make it but I decided to give them all a shot. There's 2x Chem Kesey x Monkey Balls from @stanknugzz77, 1 each Tranquil Chocolate, Bag of Oranges and BBHP x A Dub from Useful, Bazooka Blast from @thenotsoesoteric, Rev Chung from @Keif Lint, Black Cheese from Hazeman, WiFi 43 from clone, and 2x Apes in Space from Exotic.

As much as I hate to do it I think I'm gonna flip the Mass Super Skunk and let the cut go. I have a BX of it from the same guy who sent me the cut so if I ever want it back I'll hunt those. But for now I just want to focus on the Hippy Slayer until I can learn to clone more reliably.

Most are actually looking alright for the moment but they're still clearly stressed. I'm gonna let them ride while I focus on the Bahlki preservation run and a little chucking project I want to do with the Dream Beaver @Amos Otis sent me.

Also in the process of shucking the FVK F2s and have the selfed HS33 hanging to dry so that's pretty exciting. Germ tests soon and if all goes well I'll start getting some of them out into the community.

And that's my state of the garden address I guess lol. Hopefully we'll get back to pretty pictures soon instead of all these words.

Sorry to hear about all the fun adventures with creatures competing for your plants. I agree with you that cloning, i find, is generally a stressful PITA and never feels like it needs to be, but always is. IDK how or why but i'll either have 95-100% success or 0-5% success. My most successful was just using trays and domes, I think the key to it was having it under very low light, but yeah, i'd prefer to just pop seeds each time.

? Master of Meat ?
I like the idea of cloning and keeping mothers and stuff but there is just always something new and better coming out so I rather just keep popping beans but than when I have one that is straight fire and has everything I’m looking for I get kinda bummed out but than I realize I don’t really have enough room anyways lol

Yeah, we're all on the same page here haha. The only reason I'm keeping the HS33 mom is because I still have chucking plans for her, but when it comes to just growing for the stash, I vastly prefer growing from seeds. I've never smoked any weed where I felt like I just always had to have that exact pheno forever.

Mephisto Northern Cheese Haze. I saw a dude on Reddit growing monsters in one of these milk crates lined with a burlap sack and was like ... I have all that shit! Trying it...
This milk crate idea is golden! I didn’t know anyone else gave it a go. I used that black weed guard fabric to line a few crates with for my cherry tomatoes! I had no clue I had found a little potting container hack. Great to see other mcguiver growers out there.
