Hang on, has this gone from your hybrid to a standard dwc or rdwc system? No more media? Is there a reason why you changed? I was waiting to see the entirety. Did the plants not turn out ok via first method? Loved the diary, just a little befuddled now
I wanted to see if they would work for rdwc. Plants started not liking it, so I'm back to the original setup using hydroton.

After a dozen or so variations, I finally have the lid/feed system worked out.

Single point "direct" feed line with 1/4" quick connect fitting with a water tight 2" grommet hole for the net pot.

With the net pot in place, it creates a "waterfall" effect, drenching the rockwool containing your seed or clones and it encourages the roots to "follow the water" down to the water shelf reservoir which has been set to 2" standard hempy bucket height. So the system is basically a hempy/hydroton system now that is capable of starting seeds or clones directly in the sites.

Here is the first "finished product" site, which is currently germinating a Barney's Farm Wedding Cake seed.

Swampy don't take it I was having a crack at you. I wasn't. Was excited to see a new variation method and how it went. I congratulate you for putting your balls on the line and coming up with a new idea and having a go. I'm an outdoor guy, never been an indoor grower. I'm learning about indoor ATM. Yours was a great diy effort

Been busy with life lately so haven't posted much. The system is finally working out.

I just made a huge change though... I just changed my veg tent from HID to my first ever LED.

150W, 756pcs Qboard.

I'm loving the small footprint.

It uses a wifi app for dimming and on/off programs that are fully customizable. I'm pretty happy considering I got it on sale for $99.
If this thing works out I'll only be using 1/10th the wattage for veg that I'll be running in flower. :)
Fingers crossed.

Made an adjustable ceiling for the tent out of a floor tray from another 4'x8' with some venting on the side if exhaust is needed. I knew going into this that heat might be a problem since my tents are in a 68F basement, so I'm hoping by making the area smaller, the light can generate enough heat to get it to 82F in there so I won't have to supplement heat and ruin my electric savings.

What's up Smoke! It's been a minute so I thought I would check in on ya. I see your Swamp buckets are still growing amazing plants. Such a clean design. I love the quick disconnect for the lid tubing. Makes for some easy removal. That's just one of the multiple features that show that these buckets were designed by someone with a hands-on understanding of growing in a bucket system. Keep up the good work! ?
