100 Days of Growth

Away from home Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights.

Reduced lighting from 1100 w, down to 400 watts. Set a 11 hour timer with a 5-hour black hole in the middle.
Everybody looked fantastic when I got home.
Days are consistently above 27c, the nights are still brisk; typically between 12 and 15c.
Starting to hit that heat wall. I am constantly manipulating the wattage and duration, in relation to the temperature.

I often wonder about the end product resulting from a winter vs. summer grow.
I see values published for ideal root temperatures, I also find values for ideal canopy temperatures.
But what about in relationship to each other ?

During the winter time my root zone may dip down to Six Celsius and it tends to hover around 15 Celsius.
During the same cold season, I can blast them with 4,000 watts and maintain a canopy temperature of 25 Celsius.
I have not checked recently, although I think I would find that my soil temperatures now are consistently above 22 C. The room never gets below 22 c, and the heat rises during lights on. I have to assume that the soil is acting as a heat battery and could not equalize as quickly. Granted, the soil temperature will reduce as a natural function of transpiration. That is to say : if water is leaving it, it is getting colder.

Rambled too long, now I'm out of time.
I do have some photos of that Oh-Oh that I was curious about.

Premiere Oh-Oh
Perhaps not as done as I thought it was.

Denser than most autos; as I find they tend to be scruffy, shaggy, and poofed out, as compared to photos.
She might be the nicest Auto in the room, I guess all those In contention have only have one more week to proof up.

Albeit, she is as done as it's going to get. While I was perusing the photos I noticed a banana on there.
20250702_022119~3.jpg

Normally, I wouldn't let that bother me, however there is a another clutch of plants in the same room with 3 weeks remaining.
Chopper, she comes tonight.
Not going to run the risk of producing seeds in an otherwise female room.

, and Happy Canada Day, eh?

Sitting here tryna think of the definitive epitomnomic Canuk anthem.
Its just not like that
This one is fresh, heard it on the radio and caught myself tapping my toes
They seem like good old Ontario boys, works for me.

Also got the fam out on the water last weekend. Don’t usually get to float the upper part of the river this late into the season.

Getting on the river sounds like a vibe

Went to a 4th get together yesterday, it did NOT feel like a celebration, as everyone (excluding my wife and I) was going on and on about the current political shit.
I did get them to STFU about that crap, once they started nibbling on what we all brought to the get together.
I pilfered a recipe off the net, for biscuits, but nothing like my Ma ever made, for sure.
Rosemary, butter milk, goat cheese, butter, a bit of reg milk, salt, sugar, baking powder !!
Biscuits to die for!

A bit of butter milk on top, then sprinkle some Fleur de sel topping and bake!
They make the angels weep, they are so good!

Then a quick trip to my haze hoe down!
I was never excited when growing out a pearl/wheat variety. I have however been reading Tom Hill's words, concerning THHaze and what separates his line from Nevils, Shanti, Old Timer 1's , and others haze breeder's work.
He has really taught me a lot in this past year.
I'm growing out Connoisseur Genetics work now, some plants are budded, some are wheat/pearl types.

But what makes a pearl or wheat, just bracts?

Again, 2 different pearl/wheat plants , both SSSTN, looking similar.
What shocks me, as I brush against them, these are FAR more sticky, then the first pic of the SSSTN.
I'm starting to scope these as I'm at 11 weeks, and really been working on cutting them earlier than I have been in the past.
Trim jail, will be a bitch this cycle.

Both the biscuits and the herb look fantastic!

Tiny bit of trim gym today for me. The pewa has been hanging for a week now and some of the branchs are making the sound I like and feel that tells me it is soon bag time. I did a tester nug and concluded it can be left alone for a few more days. I am starting to get some sprouts in the vegauto tent as i can visibly see seed shells on the morilla and the ice lotus and refiners fire.

Rookiebuds post #25

I hope everyone had a chill 4th of July! We went to a bbq some new friends we made at a recent wedding, & what's cool is, their house is on the same street my wife's grandma used to live on 🤘 didn't really take any pics but the lady of the house served these, I thought they were cool:

Prosecco with a missile pop in it 🤘

As far as the garden goes, I have to admit it's been hit & miss since returning from Vegas 🤷‍♂️
1000007111.jpg
I just can't keep these tomatoes happy 🤷‍♂️
1000007114.jpg
But, this one tomato plant has the craziest cluster of tomatoes I've ever seen

The 2nd round of peppers are doing well

I fashioned a new lid for the compost basket

I need to do a better job at stirring the contents

This will all be beautiful soil next year 👌❤️

Did you take clones of those ssstn pearl phenos?

I'm super jealous. I had a pearl pheno that was amazing my first run with Ssstn, no clones taken tho.
Ran a few more from seed (5 if I recall) and all were regular bud. I have 5 more seeds. My theory is there are dif batches where one has more pearl phenos. But it may just be odds at play...

Looking good!

Hey LG/, I took a bunch of cuttings, some made it, some did not. So odd to me also, 1 pearl/wheat is an Australian Out Back, and 2 of them are SSSTN.
tomorrow I'll see what clones that rooted are bud building or pearl/wheat type.
I took lowers a minute or so ago, labeled them, and they are drying now.
As I snipped the AOB pearl, I got a nose full of deliciousness, but the other 2 just that flat rusty metal smell.

I'm going to start pestering Tom Hill to buy some of his beans, and spend a year haze hunting, well that is rolling around in my old noodle.

Hey Pepperpicante, Thank you for the most kind words. The spelt rye combo, is amazing to us. Spelt digests FAR easier/better than the Hard Winter Wheat I was using. It does have a bit of Hippy texture to it, not a soft texture to it, but very good tasting, and I used sour dough starter, so that adds another value to it.

Thanks , guys.
I am a little bit out of my element here. Odd season , odd genetics.
Soil is too fluffy, and the containers are too small. I am pouring water on them like I am trying to put out a fire. tumblr_nqaroiBVk01re6b1fo1_r2_250.gifv.gif

Too hot for CO2. Leaning heavy on the Bunnygold and HollandsSecret.

Everybody is getting really floppy in there; measured that yielder at 4 feet.
They look like a bunch of drunks, trying to get home from the pub. Everybody leaning on each other.

We are like- 4 days out , eh?
Not all of these will finish, but some are coming down to the wire.

Wanted to get a better shot of the denser RafterStock.
I cannot pull it out of there, lest the bodies hit the floor.

If I was being critical, I would say it is on the leafy side.
Still, it is my creation, and the finest Auto I have ever grown.

This weeks throwback smoke report is Apple Bottom:

When this one was growing it was so tall and lanky it definitely needed stakes. Ran like half of the pack and looking forward to circling back to the other half.

This one definitely has potency. A little bit of a sleeper with a heavy body. Nose on it is very floral. A little sweet but not overly fruity.

The taste is fantastic. Have been curing for a little while and the taste really has come out. No harshness what so ever and has a fresh taste to it. 20250706_203621.jpg

This weekend have been enjoying the holiday. Got out to the beach today and enjoyed kicking back.
