I left a couple unknown seedlings outside as an experiment to see what would happen.
Not growing very fast, but they look fine:

The stems on the Tashkurgan are getting thicker and stronger (outside again)

The Tashkurgan color is showing again and the leaves on most are getting wide:

This Mendo Purps x 88G13/HP is showing nice color, hope it is female!

Whoops! Operator error!
Had a problem with a couple of the Tranquil Elephantizer rmx v2 seedlings.
I’m guessing a pH imbalance:
te_ph_off_146.jpg

First pH test of water:
water_ph_152.jpg
Water O.K.

Next pH test of planting medium, “Pro Mix”, used to plant the seedlings that are showing stress:
pro_m_ph_158.jpg
Ah Ha! There is the problem! Wow that is low! A pH of about 3! The “Pro Mix” pH is way off. This is my first time using “Pro Mix” planting medium. The “Pro Mix” was old and sat in the sun outside at the store all winter (I’ve had this problem with old peat moss before). Also the “Pro Mix” was not pH corrected to begin with (I thought it was pH adjusted and ready for planting).
I will get hydrated lime to mix in the “Pro Mix” to bring the pH up.

In the mean time will use “VERMI PRO” that I purchased because store was out of the “Pro Mix”
pH test for “VERMI PRO”:
vermi_p_ph_161.jpg
Ah! Much better!!!

The fellow in the store told me that “VERMI PRO” is already pH adjusted:

This tranquil Elephantizer rmx v2 seedling was replanted into the “VERMI PRO” a couple days ago and is already improving, check out the new growth:

Well on the way to a full recovery!

Quote from “Cultivating Cannabis in the 21st Century” by C.K Watson

“A peat-based medium, such as Pro Mix, will require pulverized lime to raise/buffer the pH. Peat moss, including sphagnum peat moss, is very acidic, with a pH between 3.6-4.2, so it will require a fair amount of lime to raise it.
In addition to helping the pH, the lime will also add magnesium and calcium to your soil mix. Lime, after all, is calcium carbonate. For all soil mixes that are without lime or oyster shells, add roughly two tbsp per gallon or one cup per cubic foot of soil/soilless mix to raise the pH to around 7pH. Hydrated lime works more quickly than dolomite lime.”

Most excellent and fast germination, Bingo Pajamas x Rainbow Wiggler [Dino Party]

Decent germination, the Afghan mix from The Real Seed Co.
These are direct from Northern Afghanistan.

Afghan Mix: The 5 seeds in the bottom left corner didn't make it...

Going strong, Black Light Bubba [Dino Party], 10 hours later.
I noticed the temp was 55F. at night, so I warmed things up to 70F. and then these popped fast:

I am excited about the Afghan Mix from The Real Seed Coompany.
Check out the colors on the seedling!
First out of the soil of the last batch of germinating seeds:

Quote from the Real Seed Company wep page:
This winter (2019–20), we obtained accessions from the following crucial historic centres of cultivation in northern Afghanistan:

  • Balkh
  • Badakshan
  • Mazar-i-Sharif (i.e. the cultigen ‘Mazari’)
  • Kunduz

Unfortunately, during the process of transporting these seeds, a genius had the bright idea of mixing the bags together (after all, they’re “just cannabis seeds”).
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we aren’t able to rectify this situation.
However, all the seeds are healthy. Young plants are exhibiting marked var. afghanica leaflet traits.
Because several accessions have been mixed together, we’ve decided to offer these seeds at a big discount.

Some seedlings from the first batch:

Ask Alice (Shayla Shayla x Pandora's Box), love the leaf structure:

Pua #2 x Pandora's Box; the Deep Chunk grandfather is apparent in the leaf structure of this seedling:
Some of the seedings favor the Pandora's Box father.

Drat, the aphids showed up!
The cause of the leaf curling
aphid_0437.jpg

Neem used on plants growing outside in full sun, I have little experience using neem on clones or plants indoors.
Spraying with neem, at 1/4 of the lowest recommended strength on the bottle
(1/2 tablespoon per gallon, instead of 2-4 tablespoons per gallon)
After the bees have gone home in the evening (after "lights out")
Note that the underside of the leaves are getting drenched:
neem_0517.JPG

This seedling is to small for neem... So far the aphids are only on a couple of plants.
I would pick the aphids off by hand or spray with plain water to wash the aphids off such a small seedling:

Plant Therapy and/or Dr Zymes have worked for me with aphids
Thank-you for the suggestion! Always open to new ways!
I will check those out. I need to be cautious as I have a lot of wild bees.
I have also noticed that the aphids go for the softer plants first, the plants that I have used the most nitrogen on. I used more nitrogen this Spring than I usually do...
