Since I'm on a roll here about beans..
And I'm sure there's still a few I can piss off..lol

I got a ?? On these deals..
Can someone explain to me how a seed bank can sale someone's beans cheaper then the beeder does on there own websites??? And I'm not talking 5 bucks I'm taking like 30- 40 bucks a pack???

Let's just say I can buy
Xxx at xxx seed bank for 40 bucks
But the beeder wants 75 on his web site???
It's a pretty standard practice. The "manufacturer" protects his reseller's price by keeping there price at list. Not many people would carry your product if you were underselling them.

Which also partially answers the question posed in another thread - 'why do I have to go to a middle man when the seed maker is right here?'

The other half of the answer is that, in some cases, respect and friendship for the retailer easily trumps the extra $20 - $30 made by screwing him after he's bought 100 packs to sell.

Yup.......a good relationship is just that and well worth the respect it takes to maintain. A good deal is good for both parties.
And a realistical observation I might add, is that almost every artist (insert field) I know, can't sell for shit, :)

I relate it to hustling. There’s plenty of ways to go about it. I would personally rather drop off a lb and let my buddy deal with all the people, small talk and extra running. Sure I could do it all but it would be counterproductive for me personally. Otoh guys like Dino and Esos sites are great and they are crushing it. A lot of extra work involved for sure. Respect the grind!

'Cause the house is paid for. Other folks could use a break, facing tight budgets and an uncertain future. That's a big reason why I dig being associated with DCSE. From the start, they've helped out those with proven needs and help struggling vets.

If I am not going to make atleast 1000.00 ...it is not worth me leaving the house that day.

If you like package or bundled deals...contact GreenMan...Brian will set you up. He does these deals every now and then...I think I got like 10 packs of his seeds an awesome mix of his new stuff and old deep chunk stuff...I have had fun going through these...and he packs the vials with as many seeds as they hold...14-16-18 seeds.
Solid lines...good guy.

I will second this. Been buying from him for years. Super great dude.

@Gentlemancorpse have you had a resolution with Cool Beans yet? I just received my order today and I would say that I’m quite content. 46329B23-CC79-46A2-95F9-08B4089E8FCF.jpeg
I paid for the Useful, JOTI and the Cosmic was the $50 grab bag option. All the rest were free.

I feel bad that you had a lackluster experience with them since it was my recommendation. They have treated me right, but after your experience, I’ll be a little cautious with them.

I think you pretty much got the same amount of freebies as GC you just bought packs that came with freebies as well.

No, nothing yet. And I'm actually a little more irritated now because he said he didn't have other suitable regs available for the grab and I assumed he meant because a lot of stuff had freebies promotions or something. But he sent you a $77 cosmic seeds pack and the freebie that comes with it, so that blows that theory out of the water! He clearly had plenty of options.

My new conspiracy theory is that the bank is actually run by Mass Medical and I offended him by saying not to send his packs lol. I really don't know man... you said last time they just sent you a pack to fix a mistake without contacting you so I suppose a resolution could be forthcoming but it's been radio silence since the other day, and I honestly don't care enough to follow up lol.

Without digging back and looking, I believe he said he only received 4 freebies but was more so disappointed with his grab bag pack. Not sure why he only got 4 free.....that’s was bums me out.

Man, no need to let it bum you out. Honestly I've been a magnet for stuff like this lately. I think I was an asshole in a past life or something... karma hasn't been kind to me the last few months lol

Yep here’s my incomplete order from coolbeans. Email sent. Should be 5 but only 4 freebie packs and 2 are the same. The grab bag was the autos which I already had and kind of figured it would be those since his selection was small. :cautious: View attachment 64231

Well that's unfortunate. I just saw a few people on Instagram post about how happy they were with their orders so I was thinking my issues were an isolated incident but I guess not. Hopefully they get us both squared away. I'm happy to give new businesses the benefit of the doubt, its easy to make mistakes when your just getting started. But they do still need to address those mistakes.

This whole situation has me thinking about what it actually takes to run a seed bank. Realistically speaking it should be pretty low overhead. I wonder what the margins are on seed packs. I saw the other day on RIU someone claiming packs are usually listed on commission, but that seems horribly inefficient. Seems like it would make more sense for the bank to just buy the packs. I know there's people here I could ask but I don't want to be nosy or step on any toes lol.

I always read about how the breeder typically gets 50% of what the pack is listed for. A pack listed for for $100 would net the breeder $50 and the seed bank $50. I don’t know if that changes whether the packs are on consignment or purchased outright by the seedbank
