79 Xmas Bud IBL (?)

Has anyone grown this strain out? If so how was the high and did the terpenes smell of pine? I just picked up a pack from CSI Humboldt. I'm hoping it's the same type of bud I used to buy back in the day that smelled like fresh cut pine trees. I've never had anything like it since, and hope this strain brings me back down memory lane.

Breeders Description:

"Open pollinated reproduction of the pure ’79 Xmas Bud from the east coast. A pure Indica style plant that grows like a Christmas Tree and smells of Pinene & Terpinolene. Extremely stable phenotypically. Always keep an eye out for the occasional hermaphrodite as these are open pollinated for preservation purposes and not selected seeds. Originally shared by NdNguy. 8-9 week flowering time."

I’m looking for the same I found a guy with a bunch of 79xmass bud crosses I said I wanted the closest to that pine smell he sent me these. Square grouper is Colombian x (Chem D x i95) . I will be sprouting these soon .

I've been sitting on some of that 79. Pretty sure I have a cross or two hiding, and some 79 by itself, have to look who the breeeder was though. I think useful maybe it was?

@Schwaggy P did some stuff with that plant, that's where the crosses i have came from. But if I remember right I think he'd said they didn't represent the pine tree smells so much. Been awhile so may be misremembering.

Useful had these a few years back, I think a few guys here might have made more for him. Can't remember who. I grew a few had some holly phenos, slightly pine scented. None really reminded me of old Christmas buds very much though.

Yea i did a reproduction of them for Useful and added some of his work to the crosses i sent back a few years ago. I only kept about a 10 pack for myself.
They were shorter plants that were very slow veggers. The terps were definitely pine and or lemon on the majority of them. I don’t remember how the high was on them. The 79 christmas bud was a little before my time. Northern Lights #1 was the first kind bud we use to get.
Those Laserscout slime cookies i ran from you were much tastier and prettier than the Ctb but real similar terp wise.

Not that I remember, it's been a few years. Still have a few seeds left though to eventually try again. I smoked it all so must've been a decent buzz. But no notes to refer to on them.

When the time comes I plan on chucking some pollen, I think the Xmas Bud and Kirkwood OG would be a good pairing. Maybe make a cross with Pakistani Chitral Kush? We'll see what happens.

Well I just came across a good deal for a pack of Pine Tar Kush, had to have it!
Now I'm thinking PTK crossed with Xmas Bud seems like a win/win. Who's up for some double pine? You know I am! ???

got all those from a guy named JAYT, ran some a few years ago and it had some pine to her but not overwhelming. i think the #3 is the real pine girl of the bunch. he was very very giving in the seed numbers, the man was always very kind to me.

Resurrecting this old thread.. who has some 79 X-MAS BUD for trade? I am also looking for the Piniest of Pine smelling bud!! Want to grow some for immediate use and also for a future breeding project.
