Ain't they cool? Good quality, too. Very similar to Elements.

They'll be add on gifts with certain packs of seeds thru DCSE, amigo. In addition to the current phenoHunters contest, they'll be included in a coming Brisco giveaway to coincide with the next seed drop there.

However, as you are the resident rolling paper critic at the weed forum where the cool people hang out, I can comp you a pack. Send necessary info to PM, hombre.

Your the best man. Not gonna let my girl rip up this pack for crutches... guaranteed to be a collectors item someday. Looking forward to the next Briscos drop too...

And we're back!!

Kicking off this edition with a new twist on an old classic (I think, I actually have no idea when these were introduced... I'll do some research this week... Probably.)

Unbleached Ultra Thin Zig Zags!
20210307_002115.jpg

So these are legit ultra thin actually... 20210307_002125.jpg 20210307_002451.jpg

But unlike a lot of ultra thin papers. I found these rolled up real easy. They burn a little quick for my tastes. That little cone was loaded with dry sift and I found the paper wanted to burn faster than the hash at times...

But it has a surprisingly mild taste so I'm on board! As usual, I'll update at the end of the week after spending some more intimate time with them...

So as we wrap up the week of smoking the Zig zag unbleached ultra thin papers, here are my thoughts.

I liked these more than I expected! I feel like I fell into the trap of thinking I would only like nuche hemp or rice papers but these are just standard multi fiber papers, albeit unbleached and ultra thin (as the name implies....).

The brown color is kind of fun, feel like I'm smoking tiny blunts all the time.

They burn fairly slow but definitely not as slow as some of the better hemp papers, and the burn was very dependant on the bud I was smoking. They worked wonderful with some of the denser, stickier buds I spun up, like the Planet Hulk, but really didn't handle hash well, frequently burning faster than their contents...

And at $1.50 for a pack of 50 sheets, they're very reasonable. And best of all, these are among the most readily available of the papers I've tried as they are commonly stocked at heads hops and even some corner stores

Taste: Very Mild
Burn: Medium-Slow
Glue: Strong Hold
Ease of Use: High
Cost: Very Low

TLDR; only thing they're missing is a cut corner

For this coming week we have a very special pack of papers to review, courtesy of the illustrious @Amos Otis...

Take a gander at this beautiful packaging...

20210313_202805.jpg 20210313_202808.jpg 20210313_202813.jpg

These papers are a little thicker than some of the ones I've tested but still a far cry from a standard Zig Zag, and they spin up very smoothly... and the glue is straight up champion caliber... your joint will not be coming apart mid smoke with these bad Larry's
20210313_203035.jpg

20210313_202800.jpg

Initial impressions from my first couple bones is these are just a really solid paper. The burn is smooth and even no matter what I fill them with. A little more paper taste than an ultra thin hemp but it's basely discernable... if I wasn't actively looking for it I wouldn't notice. Not sure what they're made of.... I tried to figure it out, and my guess is it's a multi-fiber paper... maybe Amos can fill us in, unless it's a trade secret!

Looking forward to the next couple dozen joints with this pack for the week. I think I can go hard on the dry sift with these....

Word to the wise though, the first paper is a dummy....and so is this reviewer because I really almost smoked it lol.

Bad Bruce's. :)

"These booklets are 100% hand assembled by disabled deaf women. We’re the only manufacturer to have our proprietary unbleached 100% hemp papers certified by TÜV SÜD in Germany. Our 100% natural Arabic gum is also certified. It’s sourced from conflict-free growers in Africa. Again, we’re the only ones you’ll find using this. That’s still not enough for you? Well, we’re also the sole manufacturer of unrefined, unbleached paper - the only papers not to go through a refining process during the pulp stage.

So if you haven’t guessed already, we’re pretty into the quality of our papers. In fact, our papers are so free from harmful substances that you could literally eat them. Give it a go, if you don’t believe us."

Little behind as usual but it's time to summarize my week with Briscos own rolling papers! Thanks @Amos Otis for the information above... I think the unrefined pulp is likely why they seem to have a different feel than the typical 100% hemp paper...

Overall these are excellent papers. They burn really well and the glue is absolutely top notch. Being that the glue is a weak spot for a lot of all natural papers that's a big selling point for me!

I do feel that skipping the refinement stage does lead to these papers having a slightly stronger taste than some of the other hemp papers I've tried but it's barely noticeable and still a far cry from the taste of a traditional paper... paper. That's an awkward sentence.

I'd have no problem buying a pack of these papers even if they didn't have such a handsome devil on the packaging! I can honestly say these are second only to my beloved Pay Pays so far, and there are many circumstances where I think I'd rather have these. Theyre definitely more durable than the Pay Pays which makes them appealing for all my outdoor activities. Nothing is worse than your joint coming apart several miles into the woods...

As for where you'll be able to aquire these fine papers, you'll have to inquire of the refined gentleman who provided me with these unrefined papers... I'm assuming they will be available with a pack of seeds or some such?

Taste: Mild
Burn: Slow
Glue: Strongest Hold
Ease of Use: Very High
Cost: Free to me

TLDR; excellent rolling paper with great utility, possible the best packaging in the industry

GC you hand roll some of the best spliffs w crutch I've seen. Perhaps a tutorial w pics is in order. I can hand roll pretty good straight and spliff style joints, but w/o crutch. I'd like to incorporate that into the joint. I've been using the machine over the past year because it's quicker and I can knock out about half a dozen for the day using minimal time and effort, but I still love a good hand roll. Don't mean to derail this thread on paper reviews, so if you decide to put up a tutorial, maybe another thread?

There has to be a weed related site or print rag that would welcome a writer /reviewer of your caliber ... no bs. These are informative and entertaining [ not to mention the last one is spot on ]. ?

Thanks man! I'll definitely consider a tutorial... I'll have to think about how to present it though, I've been rolling them for so long it's basically second nature for me lol...I'm not really conscious of how I do it

Funny that you call them spliffs by the way. Colloquially in my area a spliff is any joint with weed and tobacco in it. These are just a Dutch or a cone to me and outside of maybe you mentioning it before, I hadn't heard the word spliff to describe one until a few days ago when I was talking to my old man about Amsterdam (where I started rolling like this consistently) and he called them spliffs. He said it was because it was what Bob Marley called them. One of the things I love about weed culture is the lingo, and how terms spread from region to region, but the meanings change as the words travel

Damn man, I appreciate the kind words. I really enjoy writing these little blurbs so I'm glad to hear someone enjoys reading them!

The dreamer in me envisions a life where I get paid to smoke joints all day and stonely pontificate about them... the cynic in me envisions me hunched over a computer, hyping up the new High Times branded rolling papers that I've never actually smoked lol

The cynic in me views the world essentially as a plot to a late 80s, early 90s movie about our future corporate dystopia if anyone was wondering... big hair and all

Maple woodtips will be heading your way soon ? still can't decide if I like em crutch style in the joint or sticking the joint in it lol ?‍♂️??‍♂️

They're beautiful man!

I have to say I think I like the idea of sticking the joint into it, but largely because I'm afraid if the tip is rolled into the joint I'm liable to be all high and flick it into the woods out of habit lol

Dbear

νεκρόπολις nekropolis
We used to jam the joint between a couple fingers and cup our hands together then heave through a gap in the top of our hands . Probably old news but it worked a treat
The ollllll smokin out your hands for fat rips trick lol.... or when that weird person who is your friends friend hits the joint & you dont really want to touch your lips to it after them ?

Hahaha this is true on my end too. I'll attach little silver chains & we can wear them attached to our fancy suit vests like it's a monocle ?

This week we'll be trying out these DLX papers... 20210323_201055.jpg 20210323_201102.jpg

I remember the first time I got a pack of papers with a magnet I was like "what a cool feature!" and then like a week later I was like "why the fuck is there a magnet here?"... I really don't get the point... It's not like it helps the papers stay fresh... are there people out there desperate to keep their pack closed?

I digress....

20210323_201135.jpg
No worries about smoking the dummy paper this time.... DLX treats me like the stoner moron I am and clearly tells me not to smoke it... it also claims it has a “run preventing watermark".... color me skeptical

20210323_201157.jpg
It does make for a neat looking paper though!

20210323_201502.jpg

Initial impressions.... despite all the fluff these are actually a really nice paper. Very thin but easy to roll, burn slow and smooth with a very mild taste. The gum is weird... when you lick it it's like licking construction paper, which was jarring, and I didn't think it would hold well but it did! These are the second most expensive papers on the list though (it's the magnet!) and these are the first papers that I can't find what they're made of anywhere... everything I've found just says "a proprietary blend of natural ingredients and pure acacia gum". They're made in Spain and claim to be the first paper designed with "advances is tobacco packaging that keeps the product moister and fresher"... which I'm taking as code for "we made these papers for the dank shit"....

I'll probably give these guys a little more than a week this time. We're getting a late start with them and I've been rocking my PoTM bong pretty hard so I'm not rolling as many up as usual

plot to a late 80s, early 90s movie about our future corporate dystopia

I think you just described the basic groundwork for this movie. 1987, it has a timeline set for 2017. I actually saw this for the first time in the early 2000s in a So-Cal motel very near where the movie city was based.

Dead on. GC is very creative, talented, and engaging. I am curious to see what he can come up with after a couple of tabs or caps lol.

I mean, essentially what you see now is the result of a few hundred hits of acid and mescaline to begin with lol. I don't mess with that stuff anymore but there was an era of my life largely defined by my consumption of mind altering substances....

Cherry 2000 is a great flick by the way. Peak Melanie Griffith.
