A peek into D's closet

This isn't a journal, but just a snapshot in time of D's closet and setup. D is one of four local "KOTS" (Keepers Of The Strains) growers and breeders.
We have been close friends over 35 yrs and rely on one another in emergencies and unexpected circumstances.
Luckily, he had space available a few months ago to take in some homeless seedlings/plants, while I was unable to be home and take care of a proper garden.
He called yesterday and told me it's a good time to take some pics :)
I'll post a couple pics now and add some descriptions and more pics later. Sorry for low quality photos.

In the front are some of the plants he adopted. There were 6 in total. 2- GPS-Texas Butter, 2- Cowboy Cookies, and 2-Next Generation- Romulan x Kush.
1 male Cowboy Cookies and 1 male Romulan x Kush were harvested and are hanging in the shed for pollen collection.
This is just under 4 weeks on 12/12. 1- Romulan x Kush and 2-Texas Butter

Yeah, it was quite nice of him to take them in. I have, at one time or another, done the same for him and 2 others. For him I kept 20, from veg til finish, and gave him 100% of the harvest. But.. I wasn't about to do time in trim jail alone  You want it.. you come clean it up bro. I did help.
I've adopted entire gardens of 20-40 plants while one had a problem with an ex gf, one went on vacation for a month, and D was moving and needed time to setup a new space. Thankfully at each time I was in between cycles, had space on my tables, or space in my tent. It is a good thing to have those kind of friends.

@Jewels That is the only Next Gen that has made it to flower so far. I have 1 Romulan x Kush he couldn't fit that survived here and beans of Romulan Grapefruit.
Had a couple males and lost a couple of each variety while I was away.
Love to hear the good review of the Rom Grapefruit. Your plants looked fantastic. (y)

The remainder of space in the closet is filled with a cross of a Strawberry and a DutchPassion Blueberry. The Strawberry we received from another grower as a single clone. It is of unknown origin and is at least 15 yrs old. One of the top 5 most potent plants any of us have had in 35+ yrs.
D made the initial cross with pollen that popped out late in flowering on the BB.
Using that seed (DeuxBerry#1) and stress induced pollen, I crossed it back into the Strawberry. D repeated the cross twice more and the resulting DB#4 was his choice for most desirable high, flavor, and production. One of the other growers I mentioned has the original Strawberry and the other has chosen to keep DB#3 ?

D runs a tight setup. Always keeping his areas clean and tidy. The closet is 2.5ft deep and 5.5ft long. It's lit by two modified hoods that each contain a Hortilux 600w SuperHPS ES and a 400w Hortilux Blue Halide. The digi ballasts are all multi watt output, and the 600 is a Lumitek dual output. (Runs 2 bulbs).
He averages 22-24 oz at 60 days 12/12 with 17- 2 gallon squat pots in promix.
Using 20-22 pots I've seen him pull over 2lbs.
He is waiting for me to try out LEDs, before he makes any changes.

I hope to have some more pics soon. I haven't been able to make it back to D's myself, due to the situation we are all facing now.. Hopefully he has figured out how to use the camera on his tablet. He called back a few days ago and told me the plants have exploded in growth and size since we took the pictures. In fact he told me he has never had buds this big. (y)

One of the Texas Butter phenos is almost finished as well as the Deuxberry. The Cowboy Cookies, Romulan Kush, and one Tex Butter are still several weeks out and he will not be keeping them for his next cycle. He depends on everything finishing at the same time. So he grows out a lot of seed to find that pheno that suits his cycles, tastes, and criteria. :D That just means more rooted cuttings for me hehe.
I prefer to spread my harvesting out a bit. Trim jail for a week at a time sucks :ROFLMAO:.

Hopefully he has figured out how to use the camera on his tablet
That should be the easy part,,,

If the tablet is connected to Wi-Fi ,,,
when viewing the photo in the gallery there should be a button similar to this ,,,
Capture+_2020-03-30-11-19-28.png
will give you the option of emailing or texting the file

also if you (he) log into the email on the tablet, ,, should be able to attach the file directly, from the email composition page

I am not a tech genius, but I am fluent in Boomersplain, let me know if he needs any help.

I know this is rudimentary, but sometimes the photos help. Really, I'm just angling myself into a position to see a photo of that Romulan Kush .

Drop that grapefruit dude!
It is kicking ass over here:p

@Jewels - Thanks for the info and tips on the tablet. Funny this guy can build a small block ford that runs in the 9's on a qtr mile, but the extent of his technological/on-line endeavors is gaming on the X-box and watching ytube vids.

I did set him up on geemail, and will try to talk him through adding attachments. If not, when things chill a bit I'll get back over there and do it myself.

Glad to hear that Romulan/Grapefruit is doing so well, . I'll be checking on your progress for sure. ?

I'm strugglin to get my arse in gear on my own projects, motivation may be at an all time low. At least the cool folks here are keeping my interest in tact.
It's appreciated.❤

Hope to kick the winter blues and find my way back , since the weather is warming , and I really want to get a nice outdoor thing going soon :)
