A REAL dog and pwnytail show

Zeroes and Ones
The dog and pwnytail show is officially over. We had to lay our pupper to rest a couple of weeks ago and I'm still not over it.
I've tried to make this post 4 or 5 times and just couldn't do it.

While that was going on, my landlord contacted me to let me know they were going to come in with an appraiser to gauge how much they need to spend to bring the house up to market value. That gave me four days to relocate my grow.
It ended up going to two different spots for about two weeks. I brought everything back and got it all set up again last Tuesday but now I can't keep my tent humidity below 60% for some reason I've yet to discover.

I've been puffing on the Fresh Air as my daily driver since I'm out of Peanut Butter Breath and the Fast Purple simply doesn't taste as good. The high on the Fresh Air is a little more chill also; decent smoke for driving down Pacific Coast Highway all day.

The @Dino Party Double True Soulfire is cut and dried and just waiting for me to jar it up. I'm going a tad drier than usual with everything since a lot of this is going to be stored long-term. The best terps have evaporated off but there is the smell of an acrid pissy-ness and almost a sour berry. I'm smoking some as I type this and there is an almost grapefruity taste but it doesn't have the bite of limonene, rather the opposite, it's cool and kind of menthol-y on the inhale.
This one was pulled at day 64. The second one is on day 24 right now and I will try to take that one to 70... maybe.

All of the rest of the Purple Caper stuff is finished. The Birthday Cake16 has an oddly tantalizing sweet frosting front end with a strong skunk-ish back end.
The one thing about PC strains is that there seems to be a common "hashy-like" taste across his work. I attribute it to GSC but IDK.

Mac GSC2- this one I didn't really give much thought to. Out of the three, This one is probably the best yielder given the short amount of veg time and the size of the clone. These were as old and about the same size as the Fresh Air but I put the FA in a 4-gal fabric on day one and the other 3** clones stayed in their pint containers until 2 days before flip when they went into 2 gallon fabrics. My buddy says the Mac Cookies smells like moldy mangoes.
I haven't really had the time or motivation to sit down and smell the flower.

2nd PBB. This was supposed to be the one until I discovered the Durban Poison was this also.
The labeling mistake rose about when I over-cloned the PBB for fear of losing it, and not removing the label from the original DP seedling container.

Right now I've got two Fiona's Chem Cake, a few of the Flo x Fast Purple, a couple small Flo, the last Fast Purple, and a bunch of BC16 and Fresh Air about 3-5 weeks along. Due to obligations and to simplify things, we're giving out place up and moving in with a relative for an undetermined length of time. After that, the wife would like to move closer to Illinois to be closer to the kids and grandkids. I plan on being completely out of here by the end of August.

For now I'm going to attempt to keep the three Purple Caper cuts and the Dino Party around as long as I can. Where we're moving to is extremely risky to grow outdoors and there is no prospect of even the tiniest indoor although I can probably garage the cuts over winter.

Thanks to everyone here for making up a terrific community. It's mildly depressing I can't run all the genetics I've received from here and in direct relation to this forum. You all are awesome!

For now, I'm done with this thread, any further updates will get in where they fit in.?

**There was also a Mac Daddy[Mac x Grand Caper] but it suffered injury in a terrible sky diving accident mentioned in an earlier post.

Sorry for your loss.

Covid sucks, hope you feel better soon. The garden looks amazing. Can't wait to see the Ph run!

Yeah, man - hope whatever it is clears out soon (w/o residuals) for you and yours.

Plants are looking fantastic!!

Hope you feel better soon brother. If you're able, strains that are beta Caryophyllene dominant seem to help keep a cough productive.

@pwnytailjoe Bummer on the sickness C+ or not. If it is, I hope theres no lingering issues and you bounce back with a quickness.
Garden sure looks like you havent missed a beat though!

Thanks guys! I'm doing okay.

@HydroRed thanks, I've missed plenty of beats, I'm just not showing the tragedy?? but really, the genetics speak or themselves, they haven't recieved much abuse but they are holding up well to very little attention.

Sorry for your loss.
Thanks mang, I appreciate it

Sorry for your loss @pwnytailjoe. Dogs are the best animals on Earth, the loyalty and unconditional love is beyond amazing.
Congrats on the POTM win and glad everything made it safe. That fan looks sweet in action.
Your journal is a damn good read. Your documentation and photos are top notch. I really like your writing style, it’s like I’m right there experiencing it all with you. And man can you grow some beautiful plants. Great work. I hope things work out for you wherever you land.

Slowly making the transition from our old place but there's a lot more cleanup at the place we're going than I expected. Also light is an issue I hadn't thought much about until I started making room for the 2x4 so slight delays while I tackle that.

I have a difficult time tossing out healthy plants regardless of the circumstances.

I was going to dump the PBB and Double True Soulfire after my clones rooted but decided to throw them into 4-gallons for a late harvest.

I buried the root ball about 3/4 of the way down and I'll give them about a week to get some teeth in the new medium before they start receiving natural light only.
?

Glad you're doing alright :)

I keep trying to do an update but then I a-d-d of into a thread somewhere to gawk at buds and.... so finally

My current clone library: Double True Soulfire, Peanut Butter Breath[TPR Farms cut], Fresh Air, and Birthday Cake 16
and the cuts from the donors. I'm letting the Fresh Air go in favor of the BC16 which checks all the boxes, loud, skunky, cherry, nice yields, easy to grow and a great high. The PBB speaks for itself, I think, and I'll hold onto the DTS until I find a suitable replacement as I love the taste and high from it. It's not a bad yielder either.

PXL_20220919_180325580.jpg PXL_20220919_180136620.jpg

The late-bloom outdoor: DTS, PBB, and Flo.
These are doing way better than I anticipated since I've never done re-used Promix and organic fertz with no cook time to get everything settled in.
I think burying the rootball deep is what saved me. They didn't get a week veg as I stated above. Rather, about two days and then straight outside for about a week of 50/50 sun shade then into full sun. They are getting almost 12 hours of direct sunlight but that is diminishing rapidly with the Earth tilting and lack of prime spots to place the plants.
Both the DTS and PBB are at 22 days and Flo is a couple weeks ahead of that.

Flo: I smoked a ton once the second plant finished but haven't really revisited it. I'm sitting on four jars I'll probably let simmer until I run out of everything else.

PXL_20220918_222736351.NIGHT.jpg

The cocoa/chocolate terps burn off way too easily and the sour berries really doesn't do it for me. Really great high tho.

I've got about a month and a half before weather gets dicey here but either way, I'm running these to finish, rot or not.

Until then, it's all about getting the 2x4 set up so can get rolling with some testers. peace✌️

Considering the length of time, coupled with the shortening days, you're getting spectacular results!!!!
Thanks! It's been generally getting warmer around here year round. When I first moved here in '93, the farmers would pull their fans out to keep the oranges from freezing. We don't get any week-long spells lie that anymore, maybe a couple days or a week in the high 30's. Rain is hit and miss though. We're not getting as much but it's still showing up.

In the past, when I have too many plants, I'd stick one outside during the colder parts of the year just to see what happens. I've been toying with fashioning a small greenhouse to see if I could make it the entire year and through winter. I may still. For science

You can identify the structure of the PBB from the others in a heartbeat. Quite the unique structure & flower on that one.
One of my personal favorites :phenohunt:
Starting to stink pretty good now too. I wasn't a big fan until my buddy and @RookieBuds kept going on and on about it. Most of the PBB around here comes from Rio Vista Farms[who also own peanutbutterbreath.com] and Humboldt's Finest, neither of which isn't bad but I think this cut excels over both of them in taste and flavor.

also: FULL DISCLOSURE, I treated this cut with Eagle-20 August 1, 2021.
I wouldn't have done this except:
1- My FIL had some on hand
2- This is the only PBB clone I've seen around these parts
3- The general scarcity of seeds and clones
4- This pheno is bomb... like really really good. The dispo weed couldn't make me a fan but this cut did.

I know, I'm a bad person, plenty of my ex's would agree.?‍♂️

I stopped by a friends place yesterday to drop off some cuts. He takes me out to his greenhouse and I immediately spot worm poop.
"They didn't eat much" he tells me. I look closer and see the worm is still in there. He spots one on another plant at the same time.
"Why don't you BT them?" I ask.

"I don't want to spray chemicals on my plants" was his response.

The craziest part is that dude has been growing since his mom yanked him out of school in the 9th grade and sent him and his brother into the hills around Redding to grow weed for her to sell. so about almost 40 years now. I personally don't understand the unwillingness to learn.

Flo, about 55 days in or so.

Things are stinking mighty nice ? The DTS is pretty skunky, moreso than it was indoors.

Looks to be a tasty haul brother.

I don't like spraying my plants either but if I have to do it..... this week my pants got their very first squirts of Green Clean (October without a single spray? Shit I'll take it) but powdery mold was showing up and it had to be done.

I try to keep the garden an actual ecosystem; absorbing damage to some leaves from whatever is munching on them, and adding in Ladybugs and finding other predator insects that will tilt the odds, and letting nature do its thing.

Sometimes this works in a great way, and sometimes I'm cutting off entire branches because they got gross. But generally it is possible to find a good middle ground where I rarely have to spray, as long as I've got enough other bugs and critters helping out at least.

I can say I have not ever lost a plant to mites or mold, though as I said there's been a few branches I had to take out to minimize the destruction lol.

I may not like to spray, but I'm not against it either. This time of year bud rot is the main issue as it's usually too cold for insects.

Ya spraying sucks...Start up that indoor grow tho and you'll make it a habit without fail no doubt..Once them mites take up grip and call it home you will lose plants...All of them actually ...And very quickly...I've yet to see ladybugs clear a infested area...They are only good if pressure is extremely low to begin with and a slight preventative sadly...Indoor mites with zero pressure from natural enemies will very quickly turn a lovely situation into a total fail in what seems a blink of the eye as I've learned over and over.

I believe we all hate spraying our plants but we hate having to share all our work with some fucking moth larva, aphids, spider mites, etc. I don't baby my plants for 4+ months to allow some no brained insects to outsmart me and make their home in my plants. I spray my plants with Jack's and bt and I still lose a few buds. I need to spray more often?end of rant.

You're killing it dude. Beautiful!
