the 4 ton is FANTASTIC...and dont forget 4 tons is not 8000 pounds of force on your 2 x 4 plates

it is 8000/ (2 x 4) = 8000/8 = 1000 pounds of force per square inch which is right about where you need it to be.

the 6 ton is perfect because you dont have to grit your teeth and go all macho man with a slim jim.

but the 4 ton...man it makes some beauty rosin. I squeezed buds through a 37 bag with a 120 insurace bag in a burritto parchment wrap...wow does that work !

It might save you the hash making step.. :)
I’ll turn any seeded buds to hash cause I don’t want to press seeds and I’m not plucking em all out the buds. I was thinking 4ton but if I get the 6ton I should be set for a long time.. idk I still have time to debate. If I get the 4ton I do save a lil money ?

The day before I had my wisdom teeth removed I couldnt sleep so I decided to press a little bubble hash using a hair straightener. I used a 37u micron bag, a little small vice grip, an IR Thermometer. I didn't weigh anything because it was kind of spur of the moment but I'll guess that I pressed between 0.5g-0.75g of 73u and 25u bubble.. not the best pictures but I dabbed half of what oozed out and put the rest in a jar, I'll test it in two week but the initial test was very sativa like.

Blurry pic of some 73u and 25u micron that I didn't press

Yum, pressed at a higher temp than I wanted but not bad for a straightener

120u and 90u mixed up in a lil container, about 1.5g (ignore the dog hair, i do)

Here's the 2nd wash still waiting to be microplaned but i'm waiting on it to arrive. the pieces with particles are from 120u bag, that I know.

$750?! yikes ? you can grab a 4-ton dabpress for $369 or the 6-ton for $429 and 10-ton comes out to $604 when you buy the hand pump too.

I’ve only used a hair straightener to press and have had some decent results, the material you’re pressing is more important than what you’re using.. fire in = fire out

I realize that now, but at the time I didn’t see that company and I saw the 1k-10k in price to do it Inless diy. Wish I would of done more homework and waited for the better brands to be more available .

that’s why my next one for this seasons harvest will prolly be that brand and 4 ton to w/e is the best price for price range.

I'm on my third press for this reason. The dabpress is legit and cheap . I will always have mine

Low temp ftw....pricey but rock solid. My 3 x 5 is the best investment i have made. Dispo rosin (not resin or bho) goes for around $70- 90 a gram. I dropped 1k on my press. 11 grams and it has pretty much paid for itself. It is very simple economics if you are a heavy end user.

wow, your first attempt is better than all my attempts combined, looks like a great product!
First attempt pressing *bubble hash. Did a whole lot of research. Thanks Dino!

Have about 2g of Kitchen Sink kief from the trim bin I want to press so bad but don’t want to use straightener for it, I’ll probably end up doing that anyway tho. Ghost Cookies didn’t produce nearly as much kief and that’s kinda proving a theory i had on how it wouldn’t be a good strain for bud washing, at least not this pheno. It super stanky tho so flower rosin would be the way to go, I look forward to pressing some.

Just wanted to throw a question at ya.
Have you watched the series of videos that 'Frenchy' has out on hash making?

Making Hash w Frenchy - Washing #1 - YouTube

I, at one point, did a lot of research on the topic, but I have zero practical experience with making it.
I was very impressed with the back story of Frenchy and that he is willing to share his techniques.
I found the hand pressing with a hot water filled wine bottle particularly interesting.

This may not be anything that you are interested in, I just enjoyed learning about it.

Good luck on your journey!!
Cheers,

i'll 2nd these videos. Also that method with the hot bottle rolling. I've done that before, did it to a dracary's plant, and after heat rolling it, it had a much more "bubble hash" consistancy and smokes super nice, I love it! I wonder if pressing a heat rolled ball would be different than pressing normal hash since is alreay been "heat activated" once.
