All ears for hacks on keeping led room temps down.

Hey everyone, as the title says, I'm just curious if anyone has come up with cool ways to keep your rooms cool? Figured could help out a lot of folks this time of year and maybe I'll catch something I haven't heard of. Thanks everyone and best of luck to you all.

I drilled an 8-in hole in the top of one of my walls and threw a cheater in fan to exhaust. Now that I read it it's not a hack lol.

Dial the Drivers down and efficacy will help with the excessive heating during the warmer temps. Some LED fixtures have drivers that are removable and they are best remotely placed outside of the room just like the ballast with the hid lights.

I don't think that there's many hacks, but blowers and fans are a good thing to utilize. I keep my QB Bank aligned with a blower and the ventilation keeps the temps a couple degrees by simply venting out of the room.

One thing I can say that I have observed throughout a couple years of using only LED is that the plants do much better in the heat under LED then when growing under the hid lights.

Didn't even think if that ? being able to turn down is a very nice luxury these days ?

How hot is your room? I run on my drivers on the tops of my tents I have about 1600 watts in meanwell drivers in my room and the hottest my tents get is 80 degrees, I have ac and heat in my room but since Iā€™ve switched to led I only need to use the heat in the winter the ac havenā€™t been used in a year now

CPU chillers and shit that bitcoin miners use to keep their rigs cool.

Store the heat don't dissipate it. One analogy that was ginven is use a 350 block to mount the led to, not a sheet of aluminum foil.

I run in a room and mounted my driver right by my 8" exhaust fan. I have been running without carbon filter and low speed that thing will suck the door shut. Even with 2-16x32 furnace filters on it. I can keep the room same temp as outside wich is what I tend to do. Once it gets over 90 I have a portable ac in room, it only knocks heat down about 10 under outside. I wish i could cool the whole garage and pull that air in but it is what it is.

Hahaha, no, i kind of chalk that up to what I normally run as "exhaust" hahaha. Thanks though. It's really the thought that counts her frim. Haha

Agreed. Led does not "typically" carry high leaf temps like hid. Infrared Is a big culprit. Hence the "typically" haha.
