Attention Coco growers...

Well, now that I have your attention... ?

I started in hydro (Modified F & D), moved to soil. (And I did try hempy buckets of Perlite).
We are currently growing house plants in these:

Simple little system, and it seems to work well.

This got me thinking that I should try growing some cannabis in Coco. I've read on others doing so, and the idea appeals to me.
This is a link to a tutorial on growing in coco.

I thought it did a good job of going over the basics.
If any of the coco growers out there have any tips and tricks for me, I would love to hear your input.
Otherwise, I am going to buy some brick Coco and perlite and go for it.

Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
WillieP

BTW, if this should have been posted somewhere else, please feel free to move it. Thanks!

I've been growing in coco for a little over a year now, though I've only done one flower run in that time. It's pretty easy, and once you figure out automated irrigation and stock solutions it becomes even easier.

A few tips I can think of off the top of my head are; use smaller pots, fertigate every watering, water multiple times per day, more if you are in fabric pots or using perlite, less if the plants are still developing their root system. Never let the coco dry out.

If you're using cheaper bricks, you might want to rinse and buffer the coco before use. Many people use microbial products in coco, others keep it sterile. The important part is that you don't mix strong oxidizers like bleach or pool shock with fulvic products.

I'm looking into coco after I shut down quick and start back up at the end of september. That whole ebb and flow setup is looking pretty dang nice for being able to not have to be in the basement every single day if I need to do other shit.

I tried using promix, but I just couldnt get it dialed in. I had people swear they used it like soil, people swearing they used it like hydro, I just couldnt find any success for myself using it, but I'm up to revisiting it in the future.

I've grown in coco for around 2 years now and couldn't be happier with how easy it is and the results. Smaller pots do work better in my opinion. It allows you to rectify any mistakes or problems a plant may have by being able to flush it easily.
I start in small 4" pots or solo cups and flower in 1 gallon pots, sometimes a 2 gallon if I want a huge plant. Top dress with fulvic and microbes at transplant and again at week 3 of flower and just water once a day. Just keep it simple?.
Now for an automated fertigation system, you can really dial it in. At a grow I help at every once in awhile we feed 5 times a day. First at lights on for 5 minutes, 2 hours later for 3 minutes, 2 hours later for 2 minutes, 2 hours later for 5 minutes then one more 2 minute shot an hour before lights off. That's with dosatrons and all that crap though lol.
It doesn't have to be complicated. As long as you get runoff sometime every day you will be ok. Keep the pH in between 5.8-6.2 and your all good.

Edit: start with good coco, some bricks come pretty dirty so be sure to rinse that crap with pH'd water with a little calmag. I use growers coco. Screenshot_20220823-083849-476.png
