I have a buddy thats an admin at the af Network, thats auto flower this time (not as fekk)

He swears by them, I've seen many of his grows.....His tent plants are nearly as big as my photos......I just don't think the potency is the same, considering ruderalis in the autos has ZERO thc......

But I'm very curious.....Waiting 60-70 days is a lot easier then waiting 100-120 days.

Problem ive run into so far is that a lot of autos don't actually finish that quickly ... my NL auto ran almost 120 days, 95 for the Black Cherry Pebbles, 90 for my AK47 auto.

Only autos I've tried that actually finished in less than 70 days were Mephisto's 4 Assed Monkey... Ive got their Creme de La Chem and Northern Cheese Haze going now as well so we'll see how consistent they are

The smoke on the 4AM is really nice btw but its definitely not knockout levels of THC ... I dont really care about super high THC levels in every strain I smoke though so that doesnt bother me in the least

I just dont think we understand cannabis as well as we think we do tbh haha... I used to think the same thing about the dark cycle. I do run my autos on 18/6 still ... but thats mostly to save a few pennies on electricity. My favorite part of autos at this point is I can stuff one in my veg tent when I'm growing impatient with my more time consuming projects lol

same. I like the idea of having a few “floating” flowering plants lol... I don’t have to worry about light leaks and all that... I just move her around from station to station as my light periods change and she just keeps going...

I veg 4 to 5 weeks............then flower runs 60 to 70........so 4.5 weeks 33 day veg average , 65 day flower= 98 days start to finish for photos

I'll try Mephisto too if they are in stock and get their thing together. I just pity all those meph fans who are always almost to the point of begging for meph gears. Getting stringed along here and there with different dates, only to not get them. Even Meph admitted that their mailing list is a hit or miss. You don't always get an email. Wow…I know I'm a nobody and my exclusion to the Meph club will not be missed, but I refuse to be a part of it. Its really a pity cos they have the potential to be the Apple of Autos.

I just hope RocBudInc don't end up like that. I'm also searching for other breeders like RocBud. Its difficult to believe the best Auto crosses only comes from a few breeders? I'm sure there are better and more choices out there. Power of the consumer?

I also especially enjoy all your experiences and takes on Auto vs Photo. Especially on the smoke/effect side of things. You guys really know your stuff and i appreciate all the education! Thank you!

Id prolly order from Seedsman. They take plastic and have an extensive library of breeders and strains. A mindblowing amount, I get lost for hours just lookin around over there!

I think their fame and hype swallow them up,plus they had some objective problems..

I 'm pretty bad grower, so my foto and autos end up with same potency.. but If you are not heavy smoker and want some weed fast/er autos are way to go..

I listen also that weed need dark for proper grow, but I read shitload of claims that people are growing them 24/0 schedule,and dont see any difference.. My sweet spot was always 20/4.. Why dont sqve up on some el..

Autos are not new. Why is there no clear winner here ?
Without setting any panties ablaze,,,is the market that small ?
I seem to wade through reams of autos, when surfing for regs.
Is the market as large as it appears ? just saturated with ho-hum products ?

Not entirely off topic,,,if a big outfit, like Seedsman, sells a 1000 seeds ,,,how many were auto's ?

Autos are pretty new actually... I remember dudes grew lowriders in PC cabinets with homemade LEDS looking like strings of Christmas lights back in '05 ... only autos around were a few Lowryder crosses ...

Ruderalis on its one is garbage, no one bred with it early on ... heck I doubt many people were aware of its existence

It also brings nothing to the table ... it has no THC and taste like hay apparently... so breeding it into something we all wanna smoke consistently takes more generations... thats why all Mephistos gear are F6s and such...

Now that there are good autos to start with new breeders have a leg up ... they can use these F7 autos as a base ... reverse em then cross em with another auto etc... so your seeing more folks breed them... but still way less frequently than photos

The market for autos is exploding right now... this is their time ... and a lot of breeders are scrambling to get in on it ... but a lot still think they are garbage and won't mess with them .... new growers think they are easier to work with (which they aren't... in fact, probably the opposite) ... over on RIU everyday theres dozens of new growers asking about them

And there is a clear winner ... Mephisto. Dudes can't keep seeds in stock AT ALL. They have a drop ... its gone an hour later. Their sister company Night Owl, is right there with him... Mandalorian is getting popular ....

Thing I find hilarious is now this dude Roc Bud shows up and he has people running around saying "best autos ever".... can you imagine how good a photo strain would need to be to illicit that kind of reaction? Ain't no one photo breeder dominating forums the way a popular auto breeder does ...

Pretty soon it will be just like photos ... well have a couple dozen breeders making killer autos ... and hundreds making mediocre ones

it seems as if the newer generation of growers coming in due to legalization are on the auto train.... Maybe its because they think its a faster route to harvest? I see quite a bit of auto only growers on instagram... Im gonna take a look for some decent autos tonight...maybe reach out to rocbud.

Unfortunately I just realized he is not very good at responding to messages... I totally forgot I emailed him a few weeks back about grow bags... He responded once with options, then when I tried to confirm the order, he went dark :/.... I sent him a PM on instagram and will try to email one more time to see whats up.... Im down to try them out for fun, but im not gonna fuckin chase this guy down thats for sure.

Yeah…normally I'd hate that! But I know he just finished a drop and is busy completing those orders. He made a special drop for the autoflower network members, using balance from orders that were cancelled/declined etc. In addition to that, he is also a volunteer firefighter and may get called for duty all of a sudden?

Honestly, my emails and Pms are also not replied but it was nothing important Or urgent.

I have some Bobby's widow that will be run in about a month. I have run his anvil before and it was great! Everything doesn't have to be from a pig or an owl anymore. There are a few good ones. Roc bud is good, Ronin is a personal fav of mine. His bum wine is a monster and smokes amazing. I'll be honest, I've run a handful of straind from garden of green, and I have had very very consistent results. But those are my "go to" to get real autos that can compare to photos most every time.

I dont know what is situation on US. market, but In Croatia weed forum,they are quite popular..I would say its 50-50% photo vs auto grows.. They are faster , easier and more suitable for smaller tent grows I think..You set timer on 18/6 20/4 or dont have timer at all and you are good.I started woth autos and I still grow them.. They are few decent auto breeders who delivers.Dont be fooled there are bunch of EU weed smokers who are just fine with potency and tase of autos..Dont forget that albanian moldy weed is spread thru whole eu.. So anything decent grown,is way way,waaay better than that..
