avidly learning to grow

The first four are looking really good - Just water about once a week and giving each between half a gallon to 3/4 of a gallon.
The last (Putang) is lagging a little behind. It's had a hard time getting used to the soil, but its starting to come around...I think.

I'm gonna start training some of the clones a little bit today
Some of the stalks are a little less hardy than I'd like, so I'm gonna tie some of them down
Get a little LST going - pop that up a little later on.
Also gonna defoliate a little bit for the clones before training. (get rid of the shocked old growth)

I feel proud/surprised/happy - I was given these clones on March 23, 2021 looking like this...

sourd_blackwidow.jpg

That is 5 Sour Diesel in the back and 3 Black Widow in the front.
I've taken them from that to yesterday's look...

That is the same 5 Sour D in the back and 3 BW in the front. Feeling really good about this
It was a total shot in the dark for me.
I've never had clones before this, and these were given to me in a hydro setup (I think from an ebb n flow setup - I'd have to check again)

I transplanted them into recycled soil(Ffof) with 1/2 a cup All Purpose (4-6-2) Down to Earth dry fertilizer that day and trimmed them up
I have not fed them anything else since
For the first two - two and a half weeks I kept the soil moist and kept them at a low pH - 6.0 - 6.4
Trying my best to mimic a hydro setup

After that time they seemed like they were ready for regular dry periods between watering
I have kept them on the same schedule as the rest of the girls since

I have done some regular defoliation of any leaves that looked burned/pH lockout for all 8
I also trained the Sour D pretty heavily...
They were starting to get way too tall

Here is a pic of the whole room from yesterday...

Getting ready to flip to flower in a week or two...
I want to let the Putang grow out a little more

Did some lst earlier and the above happened. I've seen folks tape it up, so I went ahead and did that. Hoping for it to heal up in the next week or so.

I use "Tangle Foot" around the break when this happens, then tape with something that breathes, like cotton or those bandages that breathe. There is a nursery tie that breaths, but I forgot the name...
Usually they heal fast.

Thanks my dood!! ? ?

Never heard of it before but will definitely be checking out my local store tomorrow. If they don't have it I'll find it online.

I did end up losing that branching...panicked initially and did a hasty job and it looked pretty grisly after a few days...leaves starting to brown, stalk withering etc...

Both unfortunate timing for me and my lack of care...but that's what I love about this. Learn from mistakes and do better next time.

I'll take a picture when I get back home, I've just been using a homemade aloe foliar spray to try and give it some protection since. It seems like it's coming back around healthily.

Taken on 5/19/21. So far everything is going well...The back right Sour D Clones look a little worse for wear but should perk up tonight. Been super busy and have neglected them a little bit...but not too worried.

Finally got my Recharge in and will be watering with it. Mixed up 1tsp per gallon and letting it aerate right now before lights come back on.
I've never used it before but have heard good things from several folks here and everything I've looked up sounds wonderful.
I'll pop up an update tomorrow just to see how the ladies responded to the Recharge.

Will be giving a proper trim tonight for the ladies and then the flip to 11/13 starts tomorrow.

The clones are having a little trouble, overfed and they've absorbed too much nitrogen. It's really just the black widow...leaf curl and some edges going yellow/brown on the new growth. The sour d seems to be chugging along just fine

Looking awesome in here @avid_grow... I wasnt sure what you were referring to when you mentioned Strawberry Cough and Children of Men, so I googled the scene, and this is kinda what I picture myself being like when the world goes to shit...LOL

Thanks, as mentioned above I really appreciate it. Love having a space to show my crop off.

One of my favorite movies and one of the better scenes in the movie!!

Lol, definitely picture this as my future as well...you just can't go wrong with a long haired Michael Caine as a role model for what to be in the end times.
