It has been really windy the last few days with some rain yesterday. They are a little windswept but hanging in pretty well.

Pulled a few males, others are just starting to flower.

DSC05088.jpg

A different growth pattern this time of year because the sun is so very low on the horizon, more sideways branch growth compared the the ones indoors with the light directly overhead.

BOO outside is starting to flower nicely.

DSC05085.jpg

These BOOs stayed indoors & may be a little further along that their outdoor sister where the root temps are considerably cooler.

You think you're so cool growing outdoors right now, still snowing a lot this way ?........ there's a little bit of envy in that comment

@Baja.Beaches I know you'd run the Skunky VA awhile back. Did you run them in and out? I don't remember if you had.
When you were commenting on the BOO having a different morphology in vs out, it got me curious about those VA.

I only ran that Skunky VA outdoors so far, I don't run the tent in the summer anymore, not worth it to me with the heat issues. I want to try it indoors, it is always an agonizing decision deciding what to run with limited space indoors. Outdoors I seem to convince myself that I can squeeze in another...

I have done a number of inside/outside comparisons tho, they are definitely different. Indoors are usually more photogenic. I need to try a more controlled comparison with clones sometime.

Man, it would be awesome to outdoor garden in Feb., March!
Someday maybe.
I always assumed days getting longer would screw up the flowering.
That's why you shouldn't assume I guess. Interesting.
I have always enjoyed your pics of your outdoor garden. Well kept and landscaped! Almost feel that that So Cal vibe!

I know, right? Odd to harvest on the longest days of the year but that is what I expect & the way it usually goes. Indoors I flipped to 11 x 13 & it will stay that way until harvest. Every single day outside is a little different day length.

I have also gone the other way, extending day lengths outdoors with a few extra hours of light at the end of summer. I dragged out outdoor summer plants till December that way, adding a couple lights in the evening for a few hours. That might have been my favorite of all, it was amazing.

Mother nature has its own plans, pretty fun trying to figure it out.

Definately agree with the more photogenic plants being indoors. When I was still outdoors they were always random bug markings, wind torn leaves etc. Just a more rugged looking plant altogether. Lol
Like its the same gorgeous chick in work clothes vs beach clothes. Lmfao.

Hey Stiicky!

So your BOOs are smelling great? I need to get through your thread. I don't know if you remember the BOO I ran outdoors last year, she checked every box for me EXCEPT zero smell. She had the frost & is still a great smoke but no aroma. Dang. Everybody else raves about it, must have just been my luck with that pheno. Had to give it another go. I want oranges. 3 more going inside. Gotta be sure this time.

I do these off season experiments for fun, not really for the yield. Often these spring finishers can get too leafy as they prepare to reveg. Had a couple great ones last year tho, that was a tough winter here. Still makes some great hash, something about plants that have survived a rough upbringing. Gives them character.

Thanks for stopping in, not a lot of outdoor guys around these days.
I had that boo pheno too, zero orange smell, but I dried it, pulled out all the seeds, and turned it into dry ice hash, and THAT tastes a ton like oranges and my other phenos of it. Did it grow nice and chunky nugs, but just no smell whatsoever?

Wow, it got the orange smell when made into hash? Interesting.

Sounds like we got the same pheno, It is strong smoke, it just has no smell at all. Sometimes jarring it & curing can help the aroma, but not this time.

I had already decided to run hash with that pheno, thanks for confirming decision, bet it will be great. I am way behind on hash making tho, gotta get on that soon.

A flower comparison, the indoor vs the outdoor BOOs. 30 days since flip indoors & the BOO moving outdoors.

Under a loupe the trichomes on the outside is getting a purple tinge, I did not expect that this late in the winter. I believe the indoor is a little ahead of the outdoor which has had some cool weather.

It is doing well although it is raining big time today & expected to rain all week. She is resilient but if it gets much wetter I may cover.

Outdoor grow experiments in the winter is fun.

It has been pretty quiet around here during these hectic times. Sometimes there are more immediate issues. Glad we are well stocked at least.

Been a heck of a week & still raining here. Wet & windy. Temperatures have mostly been 63-48F. Lots more rain predicted here too.

These AFPAK x DLA5 from @rosiinallday are fine with this cool wetness. No support required even in wet & wind. Growing some large fan leaves.

Bag of Oranges got beat up the worst during heavy rains, but stripping the larger leaves & adding support she is doing OK. Definitely behind the ones inside tho. I will post pics of the indoor soon if anyone is interested.

I am sure not used to having the wife home 24hrs. a day & I love her to death. I feel for those of you with kids in the equation too.

Crazy times for sure. Hang in there & don’t watch the news!

Ya my wife needs to lay off the news. So far so good with the kids, we're trying to have some fun with them. My company closed the doors today until idk when, but they're paying me for 40hrs a week. Now I have some time to get things done and I'm not going broke ?

So you are both off work & home with the kids? Keeping kids engaged while quarantined….good luck with that. Very cool that your company valued you enough to keep you.

That news is driving folks crazy & a very big part of the problem. We have a ban on TV news here.

They cancelled the St Paddy’s day parade here at the last minute, I had already bought beer for the large after party, plenty of Guinness in the garage…could be worse I guess.
