Definitely not sound proof, but the plates served their purpose. I have viable pollen. Moving forward, I don't think I'll be collecting like this again...plant-wise...I think if I'm gonna collect, I'll strip down to one or two branches to focus on. No intersex found on these plants, so I'll collect and maybe test dust a branch or two sometime in the future to see what's what, but I won't hold my breath.

Also, gearing up to start reversing the 10Fold. I figured since I've never done this before, and doing multiple plants at once, and with my limited space and experience... I'll be better off using just the one for a trial test. I only have 2 small spaces I can use for isolation. So I'll test the waters with the one plant before going all ham. I think the 10Fold and the Jack will be my first test subjects as I have 2 plants of 10F and no more seeds, and 1 plant of Jack and only 1 more seed. So, looking to back those up first. Then I'll get to Purgatory (1 plant left and no more seeds) and WhippedOranges (have more seeds, but wanna back this one up). Decided against doing full plant reversal. Gonna reverse bottom branches only... Pollen will make it's way up, but at least that way I can pull seed as well as consumable flower from the rest of plant... Gonna get interesting ?

There's a noticeable difference in root development. Side from strain, I believe the major difference is in the drainage here. The better looking roots, the cups have four slits on the bottom. The not so good structure, the cup has 6-8 holes drilled in the bottom. I'm thinking the slits cups retain more moisture, while with the drilled holes, the water just staying right out... Not retaining as much.. Therefore, the difference. Think I'll be utilizing the slits more moving forward.

Got them back in, had to arrange them awkwardly to make em fit.

That left side is such an eye sore?.... Won't be like that much longer... Thank God!

Got a small update here. Just went leg rubbing and sex checking.

No pics on this one, just some observations.

Original Slymeball F1:

#1 is a dude that has got some funk to em...structure is alright, not bad...

#2 doesn't really give much of a scent as of yet but has vigorous structure...but, unfortunately, seems it is also a dude.... But I've got my fingers crossed.

Slymeball F2:

#1,2,3... No smells yet. Nodal spacing is tight. Starting to grow out of the broad leafs.

Arise x Slymeball:

#1 doesn't have much smell, but had great vigor and nice structure... Another vato...

#2 looks to be female, decent structure, smells like honey dew melon ? to me. That got me excited ...?? peep the red rocket?

So I'll be pairing these two for preservation F2s. Not really looking to whole plant pollinate this as I wanna taste/experience her at the end to see how I like. So, I'll keep it to a branch or two. I'll also branch dust with pollen from the original Slymeball...and I'm sure at least one of my F2s will be male also, so I'll save one more branch for that spunkage as well...Choo-Choo?? ??She sounds like a good time already!?

Banana Fruit Snax:

#1 is vigorous and has nice structure and smells funky... Another vato... But that's ok?

#2 is slightly more vigorous, and I picked up a candy banana scent... Instant thought was, 'oh shit, this smells like banana runts candies!'
??? That one gets 2 red rockets!!

Whipped Banana F1:

#1 has decent structure and growth. Not picking up much smell..it has a sharp smell, but can't put my finger on what it is just yet.

Whipped Banana F2:

#3 is runty...no smells yet, but looks healthy, considering...

Without going back to check, I'm pretty sure this was the one that got the coty ripped off during helmet surgery, being the lone survivor that the bugs left me...pHuckin dick-faced assholes!! I've created a home for, and invited, them in. Gave them free room n board along with free meals and drinks... Let them live...yet they continue to target and go after my personal fruits n nookies... Those are my cookies damnit!!

...Ok, I'm back... I'll let these ride out in here for another week or so to get them genitelias more pronounced and definitive so I can separate/isolate the vatos from the heinas... I'm thinking I just may need another small tent for isolation purposes...I do have a few unused corners, nooks n crannies, around the house... Not exactly ideal, but should serve purpose?

I'll get/post some pics of the flower tent tomorrow ?

Love to red rockets haha.
?

I’m excited to see what you get. The Banana Fruit Snax sounds delicious
Ya, I was pretty pHuckin juiced about both the ? but even more so the??. Never experienced the smell in my years of growing much less tasted the flavor. I hope that smell really pops for me and comes through in the flavor ?

It took me a second to see what you did. When I noticed it, I checked what I said while cursing autocorrect lol.
Hope the BFS stays the course

"Red Rockett" a verbal signal that explains arousal. Normally referring to future excitement possibilities in cultivars. Can be used in a general statement or also as a ranking system. ie. ??? That one gets 2 red rockets!! Yet another technique practiced and maintained by the Underground Chuckers Network.

Pollen collection experiment... Honestly, the easiest, quickest, cleanest collection practice I've tried thus far... From the collection plate posted the other day to this IMG_20201122_174836735.jpg IMG_20201122_175221059.jpg IMG_20201122_175702231.jpg IMG_20201122_175733590~2.jpg
I swear, it took me a total of 5 minutes to clean, seperate, collect, and vial up... Versus the previous tedious and drawn out attempts I've tried previously... No bug poop or other sediment/debris in sight. Literally just tipped plates over, pods all fell and grouped together. Pushed them over the edge to clean/separate. Poured pollen into vial with a few grains of rice and cut with a smidge of flour. Easy peasy!!

May or may not experiment with using this pollen....this was more of a collection experiment, and I liked the results and ease of this process over others I've tried ?

I like your style Mo! Nice setup and flavors. Pollen was super clean, nice work! I’m sure I’ve used those exact plates cut the same way before. Be careful sealing it up too early and good luck on your projects!
Thanks so much for the kind words, Kold K! I hope I didn't seal up too soon... Hopefully...still experimenting around. Thanks for stopping by?

Was scratching my head, tripped me out for a sec...why does this look so funny...Took a closer look and this WhippedBanana F1 spit out 2 fan leaves at this single node IMG_20201121_192540687.jpg
Only at this one node. Then continued as normal. Well alrighty then!!

Since things are starting to show sex, and there's a handful of males, I think I'm gonna start topping these so the ladies can bush out. I'll probly strip the males pretty hard to purposely stress em and keep an eye for intersex.

Just realized I forgot to post flower tent pics...also just realized, I think I forgot to water that tent last night...whoopsies!! I'll post those up tonight.?

At first glance, I'd suggest scoping real good for Russet Mites. That plant is seemingly showing tell tale signs of Russet damage with the crinkly new growth. Im really hoping im wrong.

Sorry guys, my head's kinda been in a bad place the past couple days...personal stuff I am having to deal with...

I doubt it Red...not trying to be dismissive here bud, so hope you don't take it that way. I do however appreciate the heads up and am open to any suggestions you have! But, in the event this was true, any idea where they might have come from?? Only bug issues my grow has ever seen are rollie pollies and on occasion some gnats and sometimes a few thrip. I've never had any bug pressure more serious than that. I've never taken a cut from anyone and haven't visited anyone else's grow in the past few years. All my plants are from seed. I don't do anything special for storage, and I think that seed was like 4+ years old...so, maybe just awkward growth from an old improperly stored seed were seeing here, knowing my grow, is what I'm thinking. But, I think I have a usb scope laying around here somewhere, so I'll check if I can find it. Thanks guys!

I've also noticed that leaves have done this in the past when I don't water thoroughly enough/have air (dry) pockets in the soil. I have been running on the dryer side of things lately and I sometimes miss a day. I'll pull them to the tub for a deep watering tonight.

You dont come across dismissive at all. Not to play devils advocate but heres a couple pics I wanted to share of advanced stages of Russet (Broad) Mites so you can see why I would mention them. The top of the plant is usually their main hangout spot too.

Though you have very solid practices in your garden, there are still a plethora of ways that bugs can be introduced into your garden including your cat/dog, your clothes after being outside, store bought soil bags, frequenting hydro shops, etc. Just food for thought.
I had some plants that genetically showed "crinkle leaf" syndrome in some Jaws gear years back, but it showed it from day one and never went away on a couple of them even through flower. I chased my tail for a minute trying to make corrections in my feed for a genetic issue haha. :snoop:

Hydro is a good guy who wants to give out the advice or information , you can tell he cares . it’s always good to be better safe than sorry and I think he is being smart by that advice .

hope everything goes good, I would def check multiple leafs and multiple plants (if it was me) to confirm such. Nothing worse than a population you can’t beat
