The order shipped early, I'll be picking it up in an hour or two:carlton:. In the meantime, thought I'd share a review of the new Dynavap B. I'll add my 2 cents later when I've tried it myself.

Been intrigued by this format. Looking forward to reading your opinion.

Looking forward to reading your opinion.
After a few days, I'm really enjoying the B .

I like the body shape. Being able to set it down and having neither the mouthpiece nor the bowl touch the surface is handy with a hot unit, but the big change for me is the half-bowl. It took a while to adjust my heating technique, but now I am getting it nailed. I get two really big hits from one cycle and it kills the bowl. I should note that I did add one of the FMJs to the cap.

Daily drivers right now are the Air Max, the Dynavap B, and the all-glass aftermarket body with a Dynavap cap on a water piece, both with FMJ.

A clean all-glass path makes for amazing pure taste. The mystery glass piece I got is a weird recycler thing that I never would have bought, but is actually great. Taste is best dry but with a bit of water you get monster hits that feel like normal air; no throat irritation at all.

Hey - thanks for that!
I was wondering if you were going to add the FMJ.
The half-bowl really intrigues me...

Just a bit of a follow-up:

I love the Air Max and use it every day. I doubt I will ever find a better road device. It is great at bedside or on the deck. It heats up fast and hits hard. I love cranking it up to about 214C and hitting it through water.

My main go-to these days though is the dynavaps. Holeee foook do these things hit hard. I've had and used and enjoyed my dynavaps for years but two developments have made it my main cannabis consumption device. First is the FMJ. Not having to spin the device is huge. You can heat it up right on the bong and even by hand it is just easier.
Second is that I've started buying my torches from hardware stores. Torches as opposed to lighters are far superior. They are more robust and durable, they are cheaper, and most important, far less finicky. They don't need to be purged of air when refilling like most of the lighters do. I've got 3 torches and 4 or 5 lighters and the lighters are all in a drawer now.

This was $15 and works great:

This was about $20 and also a great device.

In the quest for a vape solution while fishing, I have finally taken the plunge on an induction heater for the dynavaps.
I got the Wand from Ispire. It was conceived as a dabbing device, but has been widely adopted by Dynavap, Anvil, Dani style vaporizer users.

The AirMax is a session-style sipper. I have the timer set for 8 minutes. It's a nice relaxing way to consume. It also means that the Max is out, exposed to the sand and wind and moisture, for all that time. That just isn't practical.

On the riverbank it is a PITA to use a torch with a Dynavap, but the induction heater takes wind right out of the equation. I can pull out the Wand, have a couple quick blasts, and tuck it safely away in a few seconds.

My induction heater has arrived in YEG. That means it should be in my greedy little hands tomorrow morning. :dancingsmiley"

Really hoping this will be the portable vaping solution I've sought for so long. I know the dynavaps hit hard, and I have a couple, so between them I should be able to get properly medicated in a short time. The heater comes out for <20 seconds for each heat cycle and then safely back into a pocket, and it has enough juice for far more hits than I'll ever take in a day.

It does the job. (y)
Dynavap heats right up and gives huge hits. It appears to give a more consistent heat-up than a torch can provide, which gives an even roast and multiple hits without reheating(though I'm already experimenting with heating it while hitting). As long as it proves durable, this combination looks like the portable solution I sought.

Still working on my technique, but the Wand is doing exactly what I got it for: getting me big, quick rips while on the riverbank.

Not sure if technique related, but it takes a little longer than I thought it would to get the click from the dynavap. I'm probably taking 20-25 seconds, about the same as with a single flame torch style lighter. That isn't much of an issue. It's not like I have to worry about battery life. At current usage of 6-12 cycles/day it should last over a week and still have juice (2 x 18650).

Getting much better with my technique. I was making it more complicated than it needed to be.

---------------

I found a use for the wand/dynavap combo that I wasn't expecting: as a bedside device.
I don't often vape in bed, but as an insomnia sufferer, having this handy when I wake up in the middle of the night has been useful. The Arizer is okay, but the time it takes to heat and use can leave me more awake than when I started. With this I can have a big, quick hit and be laying back with my eyes closed again in no time.

Not big on Vapes but this kid at work pulled out one of those mighties and boy did that do the trick. It's like a mini volcano. I'll be looking for one on sale for sure after that experience. Screenshot_20230702-063927.png 💪👌

Never used the Storz and Bickel devices, but they have a solid reputation. A few years back there were QC issues but I haven't heard much of that recently.

They are tougher to clean than some other vapes, and IIRC they have non-replaceable batteries, which I personally don't like. Lots of folks swear by them. Looking forward to your experiences if you get one.
