* if your thinking it’s gonnea be like cake or super sugary smells/terps.at least for #7 cut it’s more gas and fruity booty with a lil sour/nut. Crazy thing is when the plant is alive whole season it smells ultra sweet and def will trick ya on that lol

Ok, I feel like this is as good a place to ask as anywhere, short of creating a specific thread, but this terminology has had me confused and peeved for a hot minute, as one who’s looking for actual gasoline / fuel profiles in plants- Hopefully you guys can help clarify!

I keep seeing all these cookie based dessert crosses being described lately as gas, gassy, fuel, etc by all the cool kids on IG and the forums.
Having experience with lots of different cookie based stuff, but certainly not everything, especially all the Gelatos and Slurricanes, I’ve never personally thought “That tastes/smells like gasoline" from any yet.

I get the sweet, doughy, fruity, even savory and spicy, from different crosses, but never had fuel yet from a dessert strain.
The most straight up lemon and gasoline, nostril singing stench I personally ran was an unspecified cut of “Chemdog" years ago. Next was the unspecified “Strawberry Diesel" cut I ran from the same source, which was equal parts strawberry, and a heavier, less sharp fuel smell/taste.

So, what am I missing here?

Are there actual gasoline / fuel aromas popping up in these newish cookie crosses now,
Or is it just the terminology where Good = hot = fire = gas?
Someone help! I’m feeling old!

what’s confusing ? I said the alive smells (from plants ) are different than the dried/cured version ( many strains suck they smell awesome alive but lose once cured ) . The slurricane #7 is a mixture of its parents and dominantly presents gas and fruity booty mix like dos i vs other pheno’s where they aren’t gas. great Combo imo
when i mean fruity booty, if you ever smoked real dos i dos, that’s what I’m talking about

so far I really love the slurricane #7 , good smoke . but I’m not sure till I smoke more and grow it more to even state if it’s worthy for me , that’s growing lol

is your question are gas and sour and misc terps “real”, genetics is still only 25% of end results so many great strains aren’t shit cause they are not well grown, enviroment but many factors the end result. i sampled multiple versions of slurricane and I was a little confused on what the hype was, just like so many things. Just like going to grocery store or getting stuff at farmers market. Once u do homegrown and it’s from passion, changes ur policy. Another factor is you can’t expect a lot of online submitting exp if they are trying to sell their product to always be honest, well this isn’t IG or social media for me. This is my grow journal and Goal is to see the results and also explore diff stuff. not hype in my decisions .

Not sure how you could read my question and think I was asking as a smart ass. I tried to spell everything out as plainly as possible, but it looks like I’ll need that understanding I mentioned before, right about now.
It was a legit question I’ve wondered since everyone started calling these fruity, doughy, dessert-named, cookie based strains “gassy".
I’ve smoked a lot of cookies crosses, and never had one I thought reminded me of gasoline yet, which is why I’m asking.
I’ve had Peanut Butter Breath, but not straight Dosidos. Maybe the Face-off brings the fuel in Dosidos? Maybe it comes back out in the Slurricane #7?

I wasn’t ever trying to get you with some kinda "gotcha" question, just honestly asking if there were fuel like aromas coming from these cookies crosses like Slurricane, because I haven’t run into them yet, but certainly wouldn’t mind it.
The last thing I was trying to do was start a fight with you, in your thread, with a semi-related question regarding aroma descriptions of something only you have experience with, between you and I.

man both indoors and out just shows shes not only a vigorus but a gem to grow for me. def a reason why i did doubles of her!

Smell Its more of that n/a funky ,mothball ,citrus earthy , vanilla and lil menthal smells
Taste is sour, earthy and n/a funk
Great daytime buzz

Freak Genetics: Pancake Delight (FlapJacks x Watermelon Delight )
smells: pepper,skunky,cakey,sweetness ,doughy , unknown fruity smells. Def worth trialing one more round of her + more of same seeds for more pheno’s of PCD

Super easy to grow to trim plant and bag appeal looks great. not much stretch and very self supportive

Over 5 plus years of testing her , she always shines. In so many check marks and such a pleasure to grow pheno.

Smells: funky punch with piney , tar , disel and petroleum and a lil skinky , if harvested early some chocolate terps

taste: super creamy, vanilla , a lil sour , Nutty and what I would call that " super sweet" which I could see people referring that when they find pheno's dominate as that as "pancakes/maple syrupy " this very unique but subtle taste that def reminds me of that. in some ways reminds me of a true Durban I smoked many times

the exhale is a mix of sour and what I can explain as a marshmallow sugar taste , the taste lingers after the smoke.. yummy!

smell: is a combo of almost like peanut butter and jelly with Diesel , slight spicy and a N/a chemical with "sweet combo"... strong and hits ya in the face lol

effects: Chill mood/relaxing with a great uplifting start "kicker"
