Do you leave the dome on until they root?
yes sir! One of the biggest thing I do now is use biological defenses like southern ag biological (500x more of same species in concentration than hydroguard) and use at 1ml per gal (normal stages only use 1ml per 10 gals ), I make sure I use clean r/o water that has been up cleaned . having bad pathogens like in well water or using city water not filtered. Major issues and never good at starting a colony of bennies for roots . one of the biggest neglect is def water quality for growing and exp in clone/seed stage ( very sensitive and easily killed)
the big thing I was doing wrong for years was not applying any water daily to the main tray , I would only mist the dome and water medium if it driy out.So now I use a very light tea and bio fungi on medium and put some water or tea in bottom of tray . Reason why it’s so needed is it keeps the RH very high cause before just misting the dome I def would have more failures . Key with having liquid is to never have it touching ur medium and to empty and refill the tray water/feed every 3 days.
the reason I leave my dome on (over 75% of those are already showing roots ) is because the veg room is in my house and since I don’t want mold issues the rh is 50-55% . If this wasn’t the case of my location of veg room I would highly suggest anyone once roots appearing to take off dome if the grower can keep ur temps above 75f and also RH above 65%.
For fresh air solution when using domes I start leaving my clone domes off for a few hrs everyday than I also mist the dome everyday (just r/o) , just try to not just ur clippings but also try to make sure ur clippings aren’t touching the dome or too tall . Nothing sadder than having rooted and healthy plant but fucked by the whole top damaged . I have had that problem in past and it sucks cause normally if that happens it takes forever for new growth
First day I take clones I leave dome 100% closed on the air holes , 2 days later 25-50% open than 1-2 days 100% air holes in dome open
once I see starting roots I apply 50% nute , seagreen , misc micro/fungi and regalia . Def makes em go on nitro mode
roots even growing on top before I can see em on bottom
