if it's a hunt for power, i'm on the same path. had/have major health issues and opiates are the "solution" prescribed to me everywhere i go.
indica OG lines have always been the best substitute for me over the years. digging into the older relics is definitely worthwhile, i think you'll find more longer lasting effects vers the modern day lines.

The closest thing I've personally had to an Opiate style effect on body and mind, is Blue Cheese. It's my favorite but that isn't the only reason LOL.

I had Fruity Pepples in my garden and I guess it was a 7-8 week finisher, but I went 9. Then let it sit in my window for another 4 days while out of town. Came back cut it, shit happened and it sat on the shelf curing for 3 months. When I finally smoked it I had people accusing me of lacing it with fent. Those effects are out there to be found. The uplifting psychedelic effects make me feel present and happy to engage in "normal" people activities. The OGs and heavy indicas are great for sleep, bad days where you're ready to be put down like a lame horse, etc.. or for me, when I'm feeling like it might be a good idea to start drinking again. For the day to day my symptoms push me into isolation, or be generally upset to be there (wherever that is, at the time). Psychedelic have always helped me get out of that funk... obviously unless the vibe is off/bad, the you just want to dip out. But in general, work (not joking), kids, family, community engagement, etc.... I get to that "normal", not-depressed, non-reclusive, not-grumpy state when I have those euphoric feelings that seem to cancel out the PTSD trauma wearing at me 24/7/365 like a toothache. I've literally seen colors become more vivid, and have had deep and memorable experiences with my kids after smoking strawberry cough, for example. Other memorable strains that have helped tremendously are;

I'm not sure if there's any genetic lineage in common with these strains, or if I'd feel the same relief today after consuming. To be honest I almost had a panic attack off Alaskan Thunderfuck, in WA in 2012. Had to stop a car and literally stand in back of it for 5 after smoking Tangie in Cali in 2015 north of San Fran. Here in upstate, well, I've not had anything notable since I arrived with an OZ of Afgooey in 2016. Except for the Lemon Ice I was growing lol.
My main growmie and brother from another mother is dying of cancer, literally. Growing until he can't (same exact age, 43) and is already having troubles keeping up with trimming. Heavy indica's would literally mean he'd lay on the couch all day and let his garden go ... so the Sativa highs, gaspacks so loud you can't conceal it, etc.. are What we're after.

I too quite like Blue Dream, and the Thunder Fuck too ! I'm not shocked to see Bkue Cheese obviously, but have you noticed with that one; even though there are some decent Indica genes in that, and it finishes fast, it doesn't knock me out really.
I know which strains I can grab when I can't sleep, but Cheese crosses generally won't do that for me. Have you grown out any other Cheese ? Honestly that not so annoyed with the day feeling, and you're more "chipper" than "I'm gonna shove this fucker feet first in a wood chipper" feeling, seems to be a trait of every Cheese cross I've had.

yes and sorry for the threadjack. i get excited over hells lol. ive lost that cut but made a cross with it and purple punch 2.0, again kinda designed for me and my palette plus med needs. doesnt dampen the hells effect.... and i've kinda narrowed it down to a specific range of thc to cbd. i am giving the hells a break for a little while, been smoking the cut and my cross for way too long lol.
you mentioned headband? might be some pre mandelbrot relics of that one surfacing soon, possibly some SSH too. ill keep ya posted if you're interested. my holy grail currently is the ecsd, gonna just focus on it for now.

You might not believe this when I tell you. I have a 1000w HPS bulb (being driven by a 600w ballast) in an open fin type hood, next to a MarsHydro TS1000 (150w square) at the top of a 4x4 Opulent Systems tent. ?those colas are sooo long and dank looking, nice job bud
This run was completely the fuck out of control. Literally set these to flower at 16" like the rest, and when I chopped they were 5'9-5'11 depending on how to measured. Stretched themselves right out of nitrogen and silica. Need to load this soil with winter rye, worms, and probably some straight corn meal on top the soil under some cardboard from the dry amendments I use for the worms to re-inoculate this bag or the soil is DEAD from these beasts.
One cola was 23" bottom to top with fully connecting bud structure. I could have probably counted down to about 28" but there were spaces between the nodes. Not much, but enough for me to not count it as one big bud...
Funny you mentioned the side lights tho. I'm considering running the KindLED 80w light bars on the sides just because new research says it's actually beneficial... contrary to previous understandings of how plants are able to process photons for photosynthesis. But no, for this run I had HPS/LED combo at the top of a 4x4.

Sounds FIRE and no worries my good man. Hell's Angels boy that sounds like a sledgehammer of a high! I am a huge fan of all those. Super Silver Haze x Star Pupil from Mass Medical Strains is literally on my desk in front of me right now. They call it Super Silver Pupil. The pupil is an amazing cross of some landrace strains. Headband makes me feel like I just got in a pillow fight lol. Crazy, confusing high. Best not to do anything important afterwards lol. If that surfaces out of your garden, we're best friends. I love me some diesel, hence the name... and currently I have the MOFO holy grail of hybrid vigor in my garden. Totally worthy of a new thread, so won't self-jack my own thread on that but spoiler alert -- it's fire. Mustang OG x Double Dose Diesel. The Mustang OG is a mash of of the best of the best OGs and is a best of a plant on it's own. Dude took the original Sour Diesel and crossed an S1 back with it's stud daddy and made double-dose Diesel. What the FUCK is probably what you're asking yourself right now. That's accurate.
The pre-flowers were the size of goddamn sunflowers and the top stalks on a 3' plant were thick as sharpy markers. Literally the seeds are the size of small bird eggs. I got 6 to pop and run. This shits about to hit upstate in a big way lemme tell ya.
