BLAF preservation

I used to yell that Rob Schneider line when my son was playing high school basketball! I embarrassed my kids to a degree! It worked quite well. They have both told me, they hated it at the time, but now, they appreciate it and the fact that they know that, if your feelings get hurt easily, you deserve it!

If I were your sons' shoes, I'd have laughed if you'd said that to me. It might even break the tension of the game. There's a lot of stress put on kids at a young age, especially in sports. There are lots of parents and even coaches living vicariously through them. Not in every instance of course, but for sure it happens a lot.

When I was in 5th grade basketball, my mom would scream out loud when I shot the ball. She couldn't contain herself I guess. It would sort of startle me, and a few times I threw the ball over the backboard when I shot it. Just too much nerves and adrenaline. But my mom screaming definitely made it worse. I wish she'd have said something funny.

I like to laugh. I do my best in life when I don't take it too seriously. Once I get tense, things start going wrong.

The BLAF project is coming along nicely. Looking like we'll get a good batch of beans this time around! I will take some pics tonight. I tend them in the evening, and the rest get handled in the AM. It helps keep pollen transfer in check.

The male started dropping pollen about Feb. 10, so we are winding this run down. I'll snip off a lower tonight and see what she's got. I'll take some pics before and after. These are finishing in a 2x2 tent which will be used in another preservation. I have 4 Tripple Pakistan seedlings in 2" x 2" pots. since the whole project consists of only 4 plants, I sure the 2x2 tent will be more than adequate.
I've also got 5 GMO's in gallon shoes, and they should give me cloneable lowers in a week or so! Looking forward to them, as I've never had that strain before!

I'm also curious if your GMO does the same thing mine did; When it was time for them to dry, the buds don't shrink very much at all.

Today I pulled the ugly BLAF and broke her down. Looks like 100 + beans from her. I'll pull the rest tomorrow. I'll let the beans set for a few weeks before I send them back. Finally wrapping this one up!

I separated 100 BLAF beans from the bud bin. I just collect what comes loose for the first week or so. I never manhandle green buds, seeded or not. I'd estimate we'll get 300 - 500 beans with a little luck!

I also had a Hash Master cutting, who caught a face full of BLAF pollen. She has been broken down as well.
The item pictured below made breaking the buds down incredibly easy and clean. Not a busted bean in the whole lot! Not I want to find one that's 5 times larger! I ain't ever satisfied ?

I ran all the BLAF beans through my winnower. I'll let them dry overnight, and back into the winnower they go. And then, they go straight to @Deebs.

This preservation is done, and the beans are on their way! Next, I'll harvest PUA seeds in about 3 weeks. 4 Tripple Pakistani are going into 2-gallon shoes this weekend, they will flip in the PUA tent, once the PUA seeds are ready. I'll start the Sheberghan preservation in a month. That will no doubt be all the preservations I can run this year, as i have some personal breeding to get after.
