Thanks @Bubby's n da lab i forget what the wood was i used but it had some red in the grain. My camera would have a hard time picking it up. I chose a high quality varnish to finish mine . I put some where between 7 to 10 coats with light sanding between coats. I am sure your way with the epoxy was quicker than my method but i know vanish and not so much with the epoxy knowledge. I did use some epoxy for filling a deep knot hole though.
damn bro 7 to 10 coats

we did
1.sand
2. seal coat
3. final pour coat

Still works great Amos. I guess i am stuck in a time warp because i will most likely never update. I have had a great progressive rock station that has been local for over 30 years. WRNR radio still playing new stuff mixed with a few classics.

Sometimes the old addage "they don't make them like they used too" still rings very true... I rock a 1974 Nikko and will until that soothing blue light no longer shines

I dig the raw edge bar, looks dope!

The city I work for here in Oregon has some cuts of old growth chestnut trees, over 200 years old. Slabs like you got there but about 3-4ft wide. Unfortunately they won't let any of it go to us worker bees. But man i envisioned a nice bar top like you got.
