I have used baking soda, vinegar, peroxide and plain water, up to 5 buckets/stations. Plain water, peroxide, baking soda, vinegar, water, 2 min per bucket. For peroxide I use food grade but about the equivalent of 1L 3% h202, 1lb baking soda and 1 cup vinegar per 5 gal. I don't get why people do the baking soda and lemon juice in the same bucket, kinda defeats the mode of action imo. I prefer vinegar instead of lemon juice too.

All that said and this year I tried out a product called Zerotol. Two foliar treatments before harvest and I felt good enough to skip the wash process. Zerotol is a stabilized peroxide with 0 day harvest interval. One of my plants I wasn't able to treat before harvest so I just gave it a good spray and shake after the fans were removed. Basically the same I would do if using just water.

Yeah, the combo LJ+BS in the same bucket threw me for a loop. Separate or together, it just doesn't feel right in my gut. It also seems like there's too many nooks and crannies for baking soda to get stuck in if the rinse isn't spectacular. The vinegar I sort of understand but I'm ascared of a lingering "vinegar-ness" after the rinse. ? I bought the juice and soda but I think I'll stick with the H2O2 this time.

I'll look into the zerotol but I'm surrounded by ag and construction on all sides with regular high winds. If you had the same amount of crap that comes off the buds here, you wouldn't skip a dip and swirl. In 2017 I was able to do three plants before I changed out the water, the bucket had about an 3-4mm of... muck at the bottom.

If I had any significant conventional ag or lived in the city or suburbs I would likely do both zerotol and a few swirlies.

It's about $60/gal with a max mix rate of about 1.5 T/gal. It can be used as a surface cleaner as well.

I suppose if you are quick about it you can take advantage of the reaction in the same bucket. At that point why not just use carbonated water?

At 1C plain distilled white vingar in 5 gal, 3 bucket system (water, bs, vinegar) there was no discernable residual to me.

The carbonated water idea sounds interesting but maybe a bit cost prohibitive.
I'll give the vinegar method a try next year if I can pull the autos I have, off.

I ended up doing the 1-cup HO2O with a 2-bucket rinse. Fair amount of dirt came off but not as much as I expected. The Double True Soulfire was like a glue trap and the sugar leaves didn't want to let go of a lot of stuff.

I'm going to look into possibly using dichlor for the next round of outdoor unless anyone can think of a reason not to.
I smoked a bud of the Peanut Butter Breath and it is on point, clean and tasty with little difference between the indoor and outdoor. I haven't tried the DTS yet.

I tried a few times the h202 foliar at end and dipping em in water but the fact using SABF and regalia, since than even in same conditions I’m getting no pm on both veggies and cannabis. The budrot was dramatically reduced .seeing is believing ! Before this is was trying every product and so many methods. than I would get pm on veggies and certain strains no matter how much I tried.

tbh even if u only sprayed SABF and /or even dipped in water with SABF day you chop I think would be more prevention and also more effective than h2o2 . Not only would it kill and defend than but it would have multi days it would defend unlike h202. this species is 100% safe and when u look up these species and Their function and how much big ag even uses them.
key is if you go SABF route don’t apply h2o2 or mix that in ( it’ll kill the SABF )

the dipping method would really made for people that have a lot of contaminates also in air and want to remove those obvious stuff from air, I just know adding SABF bs h2o2 would have a aid of natrual defense .

as a test when I first got SABF I found a branch that had budrot in the core. I sprayed it healvoly and cut the branch off before hand. I l watched the branch on dry line and within 24-48hr’s I could see the budrot physically dried and died. Than I let the bud Dry and than as a experiment put it in a jar and wanted to see if it could grow. Yes the bud where it got eaten by budrot looked brown but the whole mass and everything around it was not effected but also the rot died. Not maybe, but def died very fast and no chance

key is your trying to prevent these issues before chop, you’ll need to apply every 3-7 days the SABF when plants alive and if it rains outdoors 9 quicker the better ), spray the day it stops raining and jo chances that night of rain. cheap enough that u def can do it and compared to greencure and h202 and other stuff. It worked but also showed me u def can stop this issue , exp if u do it before any issue exist. Even if It occurs I woild highly suggest trying this method and see for yourself how nice SABF has done against mold issues . It’s cheap!

apply for foliar at 5-15ml per gallon, 5ml = not infected and/or low pressure of issue. 15ml= infected or you know the issue def can occur and/or if theirs rain.

Amazon product

intill I contacted the company after figuring out the cannabis labeled like cease did this I wanted to know if SABF would do same thing since it was made for that and same species. They (SABF ) said under the table that they sold that to that company but also u def could and it’s purest u can get (98%+ concentration of species of that)

I only wash for dirt and debris. If it has PM or budrot it gets shitcanned.

I was only giving a 2nd option since I saw many have this issue (including me) . my point for SABF to help others realize whole picture of why I suggested was to non infected like many things is if u spray this after rain and every 3-7 days it will prevent mold and keep your plants from being attacked. It’s not like pm is going away anytime soon . pm is everywhere and thing is not allowing the surfaces of those molds to attack vulnerable leaf surface and the plant to not get infected is best organic preventive measure I can see doing..this is always why I apply also SAR/ISR things like reglaia to give the plant a natrual boost of immunity . that Stuff also is a godsend of prevention and healthy plants . They love it

just because you don’t get pm cause of ur zone does not mean it isn’t a issue, exp for many higher rh and colder states. just saying

Not trying to discount your comment with mine, just stating WHY I DO IT.
Botrytis and WPM are huge issues here, especially botrytis with the grape and strawberry ag that surrounds and the humidity spikes in the morning[80-90%RH] during the later months.

I agree with you that b. amyl d747 is the best measure you can take in preventing downy mildew and botrytis and I think it is one of the few pesticides/fungicides allowed by my state in commercial cannabis production.

I just absolutely will not smoke bud that has had either EVEN if it has been washed, which is my prerogative and I realize not everyone can "afford" to dump their grow because of it, but far too much emphasis is put on treatment instead of prevention and far too much bud that has been infected reaches the black market, which I'm not cool with whether I'm smoking it or not. Not elitist, just high standards in an area that has little-to-none. The toxic fungicide on the PBB was a difficult choice and ultimately, I didn't make it, the person that is the reason I have it did and the toxic sh!t was on a shelf in front of me

I do appreciate the discussion and I should have probably been specific in the title that the purpose was to wash dirt off and no other, but as others will likely wander across this, I'm glad you brought up the preventative measures for those issues because they cannot be stressed enough, PREVENT so you don't have to treat.
