Can/will Intersex issues go away when a plant is cloned?

I had a plant go and throw balls two weeks into flowering, and I have 5 rooted clones. ?‍♂️
It's a cross of Rattlesnake Diesel x Black Lights, and I was very much looking forward to growing that one out dang it. Lol.

Now to the question I'm pondering. ???

Would the clones likely do the same thing when flowered out, or are the chances different being as they're clones, and it's a new roll of the dice when they get flipped?

Pretty sure I remember hearing some folks have had no troubles with the clone after having had intersex issues with the mom it came off of. @HydroRed didn't you have that occur awhile back?

I did have this experience with the Greases Pieces when I first released the testers (before they were even offered as freebies) and like myself, everyone that tested all flipped really early in veg just to hit the finish line quicker in testing and like 3 of the 8 testers had some form of intersex to report from seed. 1 of these testers took it even further to taking clones of the ones that threw balls and running clones again, and voila! - there were no longer any intersexing issues to report on the flowered clones. I had someone else re-run clones of the same strain and they had the same good intersex free outcome with matured clones. I blame the intersexing during the Greases Pieces testing 100% on the maturity of the plants prior to flower. I truly believe its along the lines of what @18B mentions in their comment about maturity of the plant prior to flower. Aside from that though, there is usually going to be the same things exhibited in the clones that are exhibited in the mother if youre able to conclude that the intersexing was not because the plant wasnt mature yet. I suppose its worth trying to see if it clones out with some age if you got the room to house a few clones til next run.

Perhaps there were stressors in the last run? I hope it is as simple as that. Just a possibility but, as stated above, maturity is more likely. I try to go at least 7 weeks [usually 8 weeks] from seed before flipping the light cycle. Hope those clones do you right.

All depends on why that mom hermied. If I had that plant I'd have separated it by about 70' from any other and allow it to finish.

I just did this with an auto because it was a frost monster and finished fast. It was also genetically deformed producing some odd shaped leaves but we all know how some strains come about. I thought I saw and removed the only pollen ball produced but obviously not as the resulting seedlings are showing the same issues as mom.

I was going to toss the seeds but again mom was a frost monster and quick so I'm growing out the seeds which should also be fem and may herm as well as mom so they'll get moved to another area where I have a tap water drip system and too far to seed any other plants.

I've named these Funky Runts as the flavor ended up extremely funky of dirty dishrag yet sweet. Crazy and another reason I'm growing out the seeds. I will have to hermie one if they don't do it themselves. This is something special. Ya just never know?
