Canadian Growers Thread - Canucks Represent!

(especially since it's only virtual space so we won't have to worry about getting our pockets picked by you shady Penal Colony types).

Lol my Aussie friend would probably crack up at this.

I get the feeling that self-important pencil pushers who try to save us poor blue collar types from our own massive stupidity are a worldwide phenomenon.

As well, these types of people are often found in places of power, parliament, senate, congress....lol.

Marcus Foligno gets in a scrap with a rookie Russian defenseman. He pops the kid with a couple good ones and gets him leaking some ketchup, and he realizes the kid is in over his head, so he calls in the linesmen to end it. ? ??

“I caught him with the first one, and the second one made him bloody. I know he's a young kid and probably didn't know the fighting aspect of it. I just thought it was enough,” said Foligno

You can pretty much guarantee that rich prick will now be dealing with endless hassles, via the Streisand Effect. There will be BC boys going out of their way to fuck with that guy, and all the power to them.

For those who don't know, Alberta has seen a massive influx of Filipinos over the last ~20 years, in the cities, but also in the small towns. It's been a learning experience for everybody on both sides, with a lot of lovely stories.

Gerd Schmidt was born in Berlin, Germany, and moved to Saskatchewan in 1955, where he worked on a farm. He and Elaine were married in 1968 and moved to Claresholm in the 1970s.

"[Gerd] didn't have any family in Canada, either," said Elain Schmidt. "He said when he came over, people helped him, so he wanted to help somebody, too."

This old gem and his wife volunteered to babysit an infant for free so his mom was able to return to work and earn a living. He was just 'passing it along" over 50 years later. The baby is now 10, and Gerd has passed away, but he still has his 'Canadian Grandma'.

Parachute in with all the gear and have a helicopter come pick you up later lol. That'd be a hell of a day. Bring a few friends in ghillie suits and holding cameras so you can film the cocksucker when he makes his rich people threats.....or just bury him out there lol

Only other Canadians who don't live in the Center of the Universe can understand the pain it causes me to post a positive article about a member of the hated Maple Laffs, but credit where due. I am now a fan of John Tavares the human being.

He and his wife met in high school while both volunteering to work with students with intellectual disabilities and the experience was so positive that all these years later he is still giving back.

Through his foundation, Tavares is partnering with Special Olympics Canada to promote and raise funds for its Unified Sports programs, which aim to integrate individuals with and without intellectual disabilities on teams for training and competition to promote social engagement and development.
------------------------
"That's what the program is all about. That's the change we're hoping to make - that young people will reflect on that experience with a person with an intellectual disability and carry that into their own lives.
"Suddenly we have a world that is far more inclusive and far more accepting and recognizing that everyone has something to contribute."

-------------------------
Tavares said he hopes students and young people get as much out of the program - which already runs in schools and communities across Canada - as he and Aryne did.

I've had similar overwhelmingly positive experiences, and I have so much respect and appreciation for anyone who works to make life better for those who don't have what we all take for granted.

Speaking of Canadian seedbanks. 7east is doing some pretty cool stuff. They take their time and hunt before they make seeds.

standard price is 6.50 CDN a seed which is cheaper than a lot of the no name seedbanks that pop up my my growers group every week.

Raspberry Beret
For all those that have been hunting for heavy raspberry terps, your search is over.
Mother is Sangria #4 from Aficionado French Connection (thanks again for all your support on this project guys)
Father was a very dank male of Raspberry Breath from Thug Pug.
Smells of raspberry candy, with subtle lemon and sweetgrass undertones. Very dense rock hard nugs , but will require a bit of support the last few weeks of flower.
Previously known to our testers as B028 this beauty is now here to stay.
This was the top rated child of an experiment using the same father but 3 different phenos of Sangria, and this baby was the clear winner.
Varietal type: Hybrid
Gender: Reg.
Flowering: 60 - 70 days
Yield: High
Height: Medium

I will run some of these next. This IS their flagship strain.
Finish Frost
This is my pride and joy.
Many years in the making. Its the result of a beautiful frosty Blue Dream Female, and a White Fire OG Male that was gifted to me from a retiring local breeder.
I has been stabilized enough(F3) that i'm letting a small batch of these go out to the public.
These wont last long.
73 day flower and pictured here at 34 days
Varietal type: IBL (in-bred line)
Gender: Reg.

Hi guys. I live in Michigan so growing up Canada was like that other state where you had to show ID to enter, and I've loved many a things from Canada.... Skinny Puppy, Poutine when I lived in Montreal, Gutter Demons, Foufs bar.... There's more but I actually want to know if anyone here has info about "BC Bud". I can't really find any info about it, and I'm wondering if it's a Land Race strain, or a cross of other stuff that was done in BC, and basically any info I can find would be nice. Seemed like this was a place to ask that as Google didn't help much LOL.

You're looking for me pal! Haha, I've grown BC Bud from about 1998- till now, though these days I only grow for myself. Most of the exports into the US called "BC Bud" in the early 00's up until Washington State legalized was whatever we could get our hands on. A lot of Hash Plant, Champagne, 00, Afghani, Blockhead, shishkaberry, God Bud, but I think the one that really had the most impact was a series of Kush varieties that came out of nowhere after the maple ridge clone factory busts in 2005. Basically as I understand the way it went down, the clone banks for all the commercial growers in the Lower Mainland were busted and shut down in 2005 and a TON of strains were lost, which created a demand for new commercial varieties and the result was Kush everywhere. Purple Kush, Bubba Kush, Pink Kush, Master Kush, Violator Kush,.. but PK and BK were the first two to really swamp the market. To me, as a Resident of BC that has worked in large scale operations during the BC Bud Boom of 00-15' and still has close ties to Legal Licensed Producers and otherwise, Purple Kush best represents BC Bud to me. Sadly, what we knew as Purple Kush is impossible to find anymore in clone or seed form.

Hey Psycho,
(the following is opinion based on living within a few hours of BC most of my life and spending plenty of time there) I think BC Bud was a general all-encompassing name for west coast weed in pre-internet times. While there may be someone claiming to have such a strain these days, I don't think there was such a thing "in the day". I think it is more of an urban legend.

I've heard a similar tale re the Alaskan/Matanuska Thunderfuck, or Manitoba Wheelchair Weed IE quality weed from that region got that nickname, though it didn't represent an actual cultivar.

Again, this is based on (kinda) informed opinion and I will happily yield the floor to anyone with more factual knowledge.
