Snakeheads are invasive in the mid-Atlantic, to the point where if you catch one in MD or VA you're legally required to kill it. You don't want them in your rivers, they'll eat everything else! :geek: :D

Also they're delicious, like a combination of mahi and flounder. They'll even cure and smoke well. They're a bit of a bitch to butcher, especially getting through the skin, but not terrible.

I'm not out there, but my heart still is. Michigan is an option in the future for sure though.

Hehe, I have no problem with Snakeheads, they're pretty much bait for Catfish, and of course a free food source for my baby monster haha. I've heard they taste great though and I'd love to try one :) I guess I look at it differently, cause I see people not liking the "Asian Carp" which, I don't think are even a species of Carp, and how they're all over the Rivers south of here and they jump in people's boats and shit, and I'm sitting there watching footage of that like "Wait I don't even have to catch bait? It just jumps right in the boat??? Why are they not liking this again?" LOL!

I mean those get pretty large, and I wouldn't want one hitting me in the face, but if I had a boat, and we had those fish here..... I'd be out there revving that engine up like a redneck in pick up at a stop light and grabbing a net to grab the fish jumping and tossing them right back out on a hook LOL. I've read that the reason Blue Catfish records have been breaking every year is because they enjoy eating those fish, and there's a lot of them, and Blue Cats are eating machines!

I can picture the joy of having SOMETHING to do in Winter, as Blue Catfish seem to be the only American Species of Catfish that actually gets more aggressive when it gets cold, which, would explain why a lot of state records are set in Winter. A dude here caught a 55 pound, and a 75 pound Flathead in Winter, but Flatheads like it warmer generally. For a couple years I'd see people in the South all Winter catching Blue Cats, and I'd look at the river all sad, LOL. I ended up making up lyrics to the Hank Williams song "Alone and Forsaken" and changed the lyrics to be about Catfishing in Michigan when Winter hits, LOL.

If you do decide to move on up this way I'll send you a Bucket and a Bubbler / Aerator :) Haha.

Aren't Auto Flowers bred with Cannabis Ruderalis ?

"Cannabis is often divided into 3 species—Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, and Cannabis ruderalis—but there is significant disagreement about this [4–6]. There are also some named varieties, for example Cannabis indica var. kafristanica, and Cannibis sativa var. spontanea [4]. Each species can interbreed with the other species, leading to hybridization. One of the disagreements is whether this should be one species or different species. One definition of species is one in which a group of organisms can interbreed in nature. Using this definition, some consider cannabis a single species of C. sativa L. (Linnaeus) with subspecies sativa, indica and ruderalis [1, 7]. Others, disagree, arguing that the capacity for hybridization should not be the major determinant for some plants, but rather phytochemical composition, leading to the idea that they should be considered different species [4].

Cannabis sativa is the most commonly occurring subspecies in the West. It is a tall thin-leaved plant, which flowers under certain light conditions. Flowering is initiated when darkness exceeds 11 h per day [1]. It can grow to 5–18 feet or more, and often has a few branches.

Cannabis indica is more broad-leaved than C. sativa. It is most commonly shorter and has more leaves and buds, giving it a more bushy appearance. The buds tend to be wider. It typically grows 2–4 feet tall, and is compactly branched.

Cannabis ruderalis may have originated from southern Russia. It contains very low THC, so is rarely grown by itself. It has the property of autoflowering: flowers appear as a result of plant age rather than light conditions. It is principally used in hybrids, to enable the hybrid to have the autoflowering property. The plants are smaller than C. sativa and have adapted to colder temperatures than C. sativa. It does not typically grow to be more than 2 feet tall and is unbranched [2]."

Mid-Atlantic winters aren't bad at all! It's definitely worth the trip.

The short answer right now seems to be that it depends. Some autos are made with southern Russian day-neutral varieties, but not all autos contain ruderalis genes by that definition.
OK thanks for clearing that up. I try to read a lot but I've started noticing that some of the stuff I'm reading seems to have been either made up or simply misinformed or something.

Yeah , I'm older and can't handle crowds as much. That show was in an old theater and I chose to sit and drink on the balcony. This is one I got at the show.
