I don’t have photos of my actual first cars but these are them..
Very first car was a ‘91 240SX. She was mint not a scratch.
Second car I wanted the turbocharged version so got an ‘89 Silvia right hand drive. Didn’t have these gross white rims but same body. Not this good of condition but really nice and fun.
Then I got my favourite car, a ‘91 GTR. It put those other toys to shame. What a monster. It wasn’t in this good of shape at all but exact same very stock it didn’t need anything to be a gorgeous car.
And today.. 2014 Audi A5 2.0 ❤️❤️❤️ This is her. Mint, been in the family since 0km’s

Ah how the Fast and Furious helped change the whole landscape back in the 90s .
Have to admit they look like a blast to own .
Quick story . I came home from a fishing trip one day , been away just over a week and as I got home I looked across the road at my Station Wagon parked in a vacant block and thought ? something looks different on it . My dad walks up and says to me what do you reckon , she looks good hey ? You had a little rust spot so I painted it , then I thought ah may as well paint the whole car . He used a paint brush like he was painting a fence to paint my entire car ………. I was speechless ?
He was Croatian which explains a lot .

My parents had a number of 240s over the years, loved those cars. Really easy to drive stick in the manual models.

@Desert Rose where are you that you were able to get a skyline ??? and how much boost were you putting through those 2 motors, I know sr20s and rb26s love it, had been waiting for the import love to show up???

They were both stock but that GTR had enough power for me for sure! I did have a GT2871R turbo waiting for the SR20 but I never got around to completing the build sadly. I live in Alberta, we used to have a very ripe Jdm market here but now a GTR costs like 30k smh. Both those engines were amazing and I wouldn’t even think twice about another GTR if they ever become reasonably priced again (doubtful)
And I did try to throw a S14 Kouki front end on my Silvia but again, the project was incomplete ?

I grew up in the import era. I wanted to do that type of fab work at age 16.

This might sound odd coming from Southeast Michigan but I'm cool with imports too. Why should that sound odd? Vincent Chin was beaten to death by two auto workers because "they thought he was Japanese"..... neither of them even did time for it either.... sad to say the least.
Course I would love to have an Audi, or another VW, or if I could afford it a BMW.
Then again I'd also love a McLaren F1.... had a record for fastest street legal car for a while. 243 MPH I think. 0 - 100 in 4 seconds? Mmmmm

I'm an import guy myself but pre fast and the furious ??? turbo civics are my forte best to date was an 11.50 @121 mph single ohc 1.6l 29 psi of boost on a 51mm 23.5 in slicks 4 puck unsprung clutch and custom gearing in the trans, daily driven 26mpg on the highway and put down 330 hp and 285 torque, was super clean pearl white and could roast tires at 70mph, loved her ???

When I still lived in Orange County I had a client who had a small car collection with some American classics. He had just purchased a newer Ferrari and was all excited to show it off. Sweet mustang..had a 66 coupe as a kid 19 or so. Had a built 351 Windsor stuffed in it.. left a party one night someone said I did three donuts in front of the house as I was leaving. I made it about a mile from my house and must have passed out ended up smashed against someones car in there drive way...cops picked me up walking down the street.. didnt remember any of it woke up in the clink.. stayed away from the vodka after that...
