I'm a car & motorcycle guy myself. I will probably die a poor man because of my lack of spending restraint and modding cars. I started out in the Honda/Acura scene, pre Fast and the Furious. EG hatches with Frankenstein b20vtec swaps were my favorites. My last hatch was a 93 Si with JDM b18c5, built by Inline Pro.
Moved over to the 4.6 Mustangs in 2002 and had fun with one of those for a while. Got into bikes around 05 and had a CBR-600RR then an R1. Once I had had one too many near death experiences on those over the years I went the total opposite direction and bought a Suzuki DrZ 400 Dual sport; never did 40hp feel so fun!
Sold the bikes and bought a 15' Mustang Gt PP when the new generation came out, Pro-Charger HO supercharger, suspension work and drag radials. Car made 613whp and still managed 24 mpg highway. Got a hankering for AWD since I've always fought traction issues and bought an Audi S4, 2.7L Twin Turbo. The early 2000's Audis were the ultimate sleeper car and I had lots of fun trolling unsuspecting muscle cars.
Currently modding a 22 Wrx that I picked up last month. Extreme Turbo systems parts are being added as they are produced. Just got the 3" catback and waiting on a down pipe. Installed the Subaru "Group N" rally transmission mounts/pitch stop. The car is a hoot, not crazy fast but just an all around good car. The new Direct inject 2.4 turbo on these is a beast and they will handle well over 500 on a stock block as long as you can keep up with the fuel.
I have a thing for 4x4s as well. Currently drive a Zr2 Colorado for work and have a Suzuki Samurai hardtop with a 2" lift and 31s to play around with. Just sold my 00 Tacoma 4x4 beater and miss it already, these new trucks are all tech no balls.

I had a 03 Tacoma that was just amazing and that was the only accident I ever got in. It was totaled. But man do I miss it. There's no comparison now. They were built so well before 05. But I had to buy something and grabbed another one. I was looking at 4Runners but they were crazy expensive. I couldn't find anything under 35K. Also couldn't find a standard . So automatic it is ? That is a beautiful truck! There is nothing om earth built like a Toyota! Even up until about 4 years ago you could pick up an early 00's 4runner or Tacoma with less than 150k for $3000. I would buy one, commute in it for a year and then sell it for what I bought it for. Like you said, even used 4Runners with miles go for $35k now. The Lexus GX is the best bet instead of a 4runner. . Usually the same cost, better 4x4, and v8 engine.

Thx man , I've had many Toyotas and have never been left on the side of the road. My 96 4runner I sold 8 yrs ago w 285k on it . I still see the guy driving around and it makes me so happy . And I agree about the lex, For me my dream truck is a Land cruiser. Talk about bulletproof.

Not a big jdm fan but I do have a soft spot for Japanese straight six engines.

Subaru are great cars too.
If I was to have one car it would have to be.... 66 Bonnie preferably with a 421 or
Swiss Cheese Catalina would be second.

These are dreams. I've had most of the parts and the car since before I lost my job. That put everything on hold for me. I'll be back

US Special Operations has purchased a bunch of these from GM. They need a sub 5k lb that could be carried below a helicopter. They are built on the Colorado Zr2 chasis, and believe it or not have 90% parts commonality with the civilian truck. Even the shocks are the same. This should save a ton of money for tax payers as well since there are cheap parts galore. The diesel makes over 300whp due to lack of emissions equipment, compared to just over 180hp from the civilian truck. I'm not sure how well it will do in a combat zone being unarmored but some special ops group will put them to good use.

LOL! My cousin back in like 2007 when I moved back to Michigan had a Truck with a decent sized engine in it, and I had a VW Rabbit (2007, DSG transmission so you could manually shift gears yourself if you wanted to) and like the first day back I was driving and he was behind me, and when we pulled out, he pulled up next to me, and we just went for it. I dropped it into manual and smoked his ass and he was like "WTF?!?!?" cause he'd really never thought about a car not having a huge engine flying passed him. German Cars are pretty sweet though and the one I had was actually from Germany, so no governor on the engine or anything like that. I got pulled over driving through Ontario one day (apparently didn't notice a speed trap) and they clocked me at 138 KM/H which isn't REALLY bad, or even close to how fast I had that thing going before LOL! The Speedometer went to 220, but I think.... Maybe 130 or 140 MPH is where I got it too ? I mean it's not like I had a track to play with so it had to be on a freeway, and I remember at one point driving from Montreal to Michigan, not only did I may the trip in like 6 hours, I passed a train by the freeway on the way there LOL. Amazing what 10 cans of Jolt Cola and a sore cramping hand being tired of driving will do to a road trip LOL.

Winter/rally set up for the 22 Wrx. Wife daily driver. We have horrible roads, gravel, loose asphalt chunks, limbs in road etc and he has a 35 mile commute each way. My goal was to set up the car to be as safe, and reliable as possible. She would not let me get the classic Subaru Gold color (she just doesn't understand!) 17" Blizzak snow tires on Sparco Terras. Taller tire sidewall, smaller wheel diameter. The car came with a summer set of wide 18" wheels Dunlop tires, which are the cats meow in warm weather, but leave you in a ditch in light snow. It's got more mods since the video-mudflaps and suspension bracing. The exhaust is from Extreme Turbo Systems and allows you to produce a gun shot sound when you downshift from high RPM that gets the deer out of the road much faster than a horn.

oh baby I know yall wanna see my generic stock '17 trd off road tacoma in grey like every other 3rd vehicle on the road :D. Been a solid truck though and needs new tires again if anyone has recommendations ;). I'm still unsure if I should get winter tires for road trips in winter or just get all seasons again with good winter rating.

You guys would shit your pants seeing the cars I used to work on at GM. I did alot of work on the Heritage collection. 1st and last builds of any and all GM vehicles, specialty cars, one-offs, custom builds, race cars, movie set cars (Bumblebee and a few other autobots from the Transformers movies. Hot wheels camaros, etc. I have a ton of pics on an external HD, I just need to get them and post a few on here.

In the early 2000's I was big into the tuner scene (racing, sound competitions), then into racing sportbikes.

In the late 90-s I redid my dad's '52 ford pickup. I talked him into letting me.redo the entire interior, then prep and paint her.
