Car porn

Figured I would make a thread for anyone interested in a car hobby. I grew up with four uncles who had me driving everything from tractors and three wheelers to fast cars and dune buggys! It has stuck with me and now I have a small collection of cars.

My first real hot rod is a 2013 Camaro SS. Bought brand new and is still with me. She has seen a few miles on race tracks as I do open track day events at local road courses. It has a cam and valve train work done with a nice tune. She’s 500hp at the wheel!

Next purchase was a 1997 Formula Firebird with a Firehawk package. 1 of 132 Firehawks that year. I am the third owner, it has 27,000 miles on it with the original tires still on! Purchased it for an investment, but she kinda grew on me, so I’ll wait til the market goes up!

Then I found my teenage dream car....1995 Impala SS! Although, smoking a fat one while blasting 90’s rap while cruisin isn’t as cool now as I thought it would be when I was a teenager! Lol. Still love this car....I call it my ‘motorized living room’ because she just floats!

The latest addition to the collection is a 2017 Camaro SS Track Day Performance. 1 of 2 that were built at the COPO build center alongside the COPO drag cars. This was a project that was supposed to have 100 cars made for open track days. The two that were built, were “prototypes” to see how long it would take and how much money. Getting parts were a problem, so they scrapped the project and sold the two cars. I own one and a friend of mine owns the other. This car has about a thousand miles of just track miles on it! This car is a gentleman on the streets and an animal on the track!

I still own all these along with a truck for work and winter. I did own a 2003Silverado SS, but traded that for my work truck. It was a fun truck, but had the wheels driven off it before I got it. Too many problems that I didn’t want to deal with!

Thanks for peeking and if you have a cool car or truck of any kind, I’d love to see it....especially if it’s rare!

Very impressive collection. 500HP at the wheels?? That's an 11 sec car on radials?? Awesome ?
Technology has come such a long way I'm the past 10 years. Although I love classic muscle cars, unless you already have one as a project oe have cash to buy complete, it's just too much to get into, or something I'd likely not drive everyday. New muscle is attractive because all that power, with AC, and 30mpg on the freeway. Plus you don't stink like exhaust everywhere you go lol.
Thanks for sharing ?

Really like the white Camaro photo. Backgrounds busy, pedestrians, pavilions, broke down imports,,,
But you didn’t see them did you ? No.
Because there is this bag pile of Badazz, right up in your face.

When I met my Nana in-law, in 97, she had a fresh, white Firebird. Headroom was tight,,, not that she would let this kid drive it anyway.

A good friend of mine has a 1960 Thunderbird that looks kinda like the Meteor Montcalm! His has the drivetrain from a 2012 Mustang, Wilwood brake upgrades and a few other goodies. Pretty nice ride!

I've only had one decent vehicle and I sure fucked that up....had a 04 f350 6.0...I know right lol but dude I worked with sent it in and had it fully bullet proofed egr deleted stc valve new stock upgraded injectors and coolant filter. Got it back there was a stc x4 In there. Canned tunes was awesome but then i got gear heads srl+, extreme studded, unlimited tow and 8k/13k tow studded. Truck was so fun to drive. 60 to 100 was stupid fast. 8000 pound truck get down lol. But ya down hill slid through intersection and t boned a car. Icey and was getting a smoke completely my dumbass fault..... I'll post pics tmrw morning, it's still at warehouse. Debating taking the 10k from insurance or buy another truck and swap motors. Driving a v6 eco boost atm, it blows ass hauling. It pulls it but stopping is another story.

Funny thing about the haggard looking imports.... this was an event called Gridlife at a local road course. I was one of (maybe) 5 American cars running! Lol. All the busted looking imports, were actually running drift events.....that’s why the rear bumper is missing on the car in the photo!

My son bought AND sold this car last summer.
Is a Malibu, looks nice; but those were sad times for displacement. All original, and less than 300 cubes.

Reminds me of a 67-69(?) convertible Firebird, that my Pops would service at his garage. White topped and bang’n smart, a metallic version of the “preview” button @ the bottom of this page. I remember always getting excited when I saw it pull in. I also remember my disbelief when he had my dad rebuild the engine on original spec. No bore, no cam, no nothing. At fourteen I could not reason why that dude would be happy driving around a straight six.
I did not understand the value of “original”
I understand now.
I wouldn’t trade a single bolt, off my Mercury.

That looks like a 1972 Chevelle Malibu? If V8, I would expect at least 307, if not 350 during that year.

That merc for sale is yours?

Cadillac Planning meeting.
“ We plan on putting chrome here , here , here, there, here and here , does anybody have any suggestions? “
,
,
“We could put a pinstripe of chrome down the hood ? “
,
“ How about two hood emblems ? “
,
“Is there any way we could get the chrome to start at the ground, and go all the way up to the headlights ?”

“,,can we put a chrome ring , around the chrome headlight bezel ? “

I will stop.
Cadillac did invent one genius strategy, mid-century
BMW completely forgot it, about 50 years later . History repeats itself.

They found, consumers were not to buying new vehicles because they appeared physically identical to previous models.
( those bastards) They began making drastic cosmetic changes , every model year.
Helped to make your new car , look old.

BMW turned out carbon copies all through the nineties, as a result, my 10 year old Beamer , looked new.

Forgive the license plate blurs, opsec is important mkay.

82 Datsun 280zx non-turbo. Picked this car up for $600, dropped way too much into it. Two weeks after I sold it to a buddy, it was stolen and burned in the mesa; powertrain and drivetrain ripped out of it.
