Well I think the time has come..new carbon filters needed...These ChemD A5 are less than a foot tall in veg and absolutely reek...I don't want everything I own smelling like dead skunk ass already know what's about to happen as I move these into bud next month....Any preference on filters or places with decent deals....Any other odor control pointers?? Seriously..these are going to be a real problem...About 10 times worse than any strain I've ran and still babies ... Already hitting the house with Ozium couple times a day

I guess a more direct question that I need answered is...They have $45 dollar carbon filters in Amazon all the way up to the same size other brands for up to $300...What's the major difference...One brand that much better than another. Isn't carbon just carbon

I have a canfan50 and used it for like 3 years or more with great results and now I’m still using it as an intake filter. When I swapped it to the intake side I replaced the exhaust filter with a Vivosun and it has done a great job for a grow going on two now. If I had the money I’d buy the canfan though, it was lights out for a really extended period of time and there seems to be a very slight smell coming through the Vivosun, it’s not a dank smell but there is “something” coming through.

I've bought the small 4" x 13" filters and they are good for about 7-10 days realistically before they start letting some smells get out. Not very good for the real stinky stuff (like chem D and cheese strains). For about 2x the price of the cheapy feebay/hamazon filters I recently bought an ac infinity carbon filter and it has worked like gangbusters since being installed. My wife would be the first to tell me it isnt working and I havent heard a peep in 2 finished flower cycles. It lets ZERO smell out if you are in a tent w/ negative pressure. The best filter I've ever run and at only $70 shipped. I've bought Phresh and Can-Lite's at their over inflated prices and wasnt nearly as happy with them as I am the AC Infinity. Highly recommended.

That’s the next one I’ll probably get. They weren’t out yet when I bought my last filter but would’ve went that way to try for sure. Good to hear

All my filters are ac infinity and when you walk into my grow room it smells like a hospital lol ya know that super fake clean smell…and than you open the tents and it hits ya like a brick wall lol

Hopefully most of the air pushing out goes thru the filter...I know it used to but this filter I have now is about 5 years old and God knows how many cycles?

I buy and use 2 at a time, cheap 50 buck Vivosun on fleabay and use em for 2 grows at full speed and in the trash.
I used to buy the 300 dollar ones, didn't last much longer and were way to heavy to manage.
Now that I think back, my $250+ were much heavier too. I ran 6" majority of the time but still were noticably heavier compared to the cheapy 6" carbon filters of the same size.
Thanks alot guys I'll get the Ac infinity on the way...I use positive pressure as it gives more room in the tent and I have to pump cool air from a different room into the tent...My grow area gets super hot but inside the flower tent runs about 79F
Out of curiosity, how do you utilize your exhaust fan/carbon filter with your tent setup and run pos pressure? Running neg pressure I can keep my fan, ducting and fliter all outside of my tents leaving 100% of the tent's real estate aside from the light. No smells gets out past the filter. Since you currently run cooler air from another room, I'll assume you must already have your tent inlet ducted to that cooler room already correct? Just let the exhaust fan and filter sit outside of the tent and let it pull vs having to push the cool air in which is creating that positive pressure in the tent. You can get a thermostatic controlled outlet for like $30 and set it to come on when the tent reaches your set temp (e.g. 81*F). Plug your exhaust fan into that controller and your tent will come on and exhaust every time the temp hits 81*F. In turn, that same exhaust fan will also pull that cool air needed from the other room every time the tent hits 81*F. Let that one exhaust fan outside of the tent pull and push all in one function every time it kicks on.

The way it's set up now is...The inlet of the fan has ducting running to a air conditioned room sucking in cold air..The outlet of the fan is ducted to the tent which literally puffs up the whole tent and walls...The exhaust duct comes out the top of the tent and into the the carbon filter which is also sat outside the grow area in a different location...It's kinda alot of ducting but my location and living arrangement has kind of forced me to do it this way to control temps..I got three tents in a 8 by 10 room and it's cramped....The swelling of the tent definitely allows way more room inside the tent...Prior I had it set up exactly like you described...I never turn the fan off it runs 24/7...It's worked well for grows...Lots of em ..but in all reality I'm not sure exactly how much filtration I'm actually getting and that's going to be very important when I bud the Chem Ds.. I still have all the temp and humidity controls and co2 Injection setups and all that crap that I just can't mess with at my current location....I get past these Chem d plants and I won't stress as much..These little guys/gals are rude man

I must also add that since I started blowing all that air into the tent it's definitely picked up yield...It really needs all that air flow..And it is alot ..400cfm...It's a 4 x 4 tent with a SF 5000 spider farmer..A far red fixture in each corner and a uvb bar in the middle of the spider farmer....It gets hot in there...But I'm able to maintain no higher than 80 or 81 F...I used to run HPS solely with negative pressure but since I was basically forced to set up this way the density and yield and product have insanely improved...However am I really getting the filtration I'm going to be needing...I'm kind of in doubt of that!...To many air leaks with all that pressure..No way all that air is exhausting thru the unpowered exhaust duct and thru the carbon ?
