These are some very good observations. Thanks for sharing, I love hearing about and learning from experience (the best teacher). Things like this are really good to know, being that I'm mostly hydro but still need to run some parts of my grow in soil as well.Checked the black banana cookies balls on the lowers but pulled them of so we'll she. Citrus Milf no balls anywhere doesn't look to be pollinated either and lookin good. Man i know it's the soil is to hot. All soil will be put outside in raised beds. I'm not trying to reamend soil anymore . Outside after 3 runs. Second time ive tried . I make and run supersoil no problems no herms nice smell and fade. Reamended soil i make dark dark green leave all threw out growth and most plants herm. So going out to buy some root organic and make some supersoil to be ready for next grow.
I hear you on the re-amending. It can be a crap shoot. I've had a few good runs, and then a few where your fighting a deficiency or you feel the final product is not what it should of been. I know you can send out soil samples, even buy a DIY kit. I've thought about it, but don't really want to get that deep in dirt. Yeah I was thinking of sending it out for soil testing. Then I thought with all this going on in the world. I need to have a huge garden this year so I will buy several fabric raised beds and grow out fruit and vegetables in this soil. Have 2 55 gallon rubbermaid trash cans full. Will mix that will the composted leaves I have .I hear you on the re-amending. It can be a crap shoot. I've been leaning towards re-amending one time. Then use it in the vedgy garden; start with a fresh super soil.
IDK. I've got a shit ton of different amendments and minerals sitting around to.

Only one one that came up. Was a mutant but grew out of it. Male flowers on the bottom pluck off . Checking everyday for male balls none so far. I used build a soil craft blend. And only let it set for 30 days. I also think my worm casting are have alot of nutrients also. Feed them Alfalfa kelp watermelon bannana peels leaves from plants trimmed harvested. I might not need to add anything but worm casting in the future I will try this.I've been doing rols for about 4-5 yrs now.
-When I reammend it's usually very lightly, as there's still alot that's in the soil already.
-The reamended soil also needs to sit for about a month to digest things. Depending on what's used it can take longer. I like a 2 month sit myself.
There's alot of insoluble nutrients that take varied amounts of time to become bio available.
-How much, and with what I ammend with is based on how the last plant was looking at the end of things.
-Must also take into account any top dressings done during previous plants life.
- And then don't disregard the nutrient' s added from the old roots being in there as well. They get digested by the microbes too, and become new plant food.
-Often the amount I reamend is a total of about 1-2 tablespoons per cubic ft, or 7-8 gals of soil.
That's all the dry amendments mixed together as one, then the tablespoons amount.
That's my methods, works well for me. ???
A lovely plant she took everything in that soil and some with no problems.Looking great! i am going to have the Citrus MLIF in the line up next round.
Yeah, from the sounds of it with what your already adding in during the previous plants life you shouldn't need hardly any reammending to your soil. The things you listed have a fair bit of npk to them, particularly in the N dept.I used build a soil craft blend. And only let it set for 30 days.
