Chief’s Den

definitely look like they need some N

I would transplant into bigger pot w/fresh roots organic soil
add neem seed meal
it adds N & bugs hate it
it is a great ipm

they other plants look nice & healthy
I’ve got some insect frass handy I understand the chitin is good for building up a plant’s defenses, and I’m unsure of the NPK of my particular product but 2-2-2 and 2-1-3 are ratios I’ve seen in similar products.

The soil on the two larger girls has been compacting quite a bit

This is the reason why I personally chose pumice over perlite. Perlite tends to lose its position in the substrate and eventually rises to the top which can potentially contribute to compaction. Pumice is heavier and will hold itself better, reducing the risk. I don't recall if you're using perlite or pumice, I just figured I'd throw it out there.

for chitin if it was me I would try crab meal or shrimp meal in the future ( only negative towards that it really does smell bad, for even up to a week after applying lol), adds calcium and higher chitin % vs insect frass + crabor shrimp is cheaper per the pound And less required per gal application .

for crab/shrimp, I do half and half and you can see within 24-72 hours a big fizz of bacteria in your medium at 1/3 cup of each meal. apply every 2-3 weeks intill 3-4 weeks before harvest.

to help your nitrogen issue and base issues ( good prevention for issues ) And give the plant quicker intake ,foliar spray some cal/mag + kelp + wetting agent ( I would use yucca if it was me) and ph at 6-7
fulvic acid/humic would be a great add on for foliar ( drenching it is beneficial)

spray every 3-10 days and spray 3-hours before light or right when the lights turn off.

just trying to give ya a base but also it’s a thing all plants will love if done correctly.
any overly yellow or nute deficient leaf I would remove the worst and let the plant recover and not put its energy into leaves that will take so much energetic to recover.

as a dry Nitrogen dominate and fast intakable gain for seperate pheno’s demanding more nitrogen vs some. Feed them dry amendment via top dressing of some fish bone meal or nitrogen bat guano (that will be quicker to intake). Thus you got custom feeding of the plants that need more and not have a mandatory feeding of all if given through a Rez. Or you would need multiple recipes to do it correctly which sucks?

if you want A great combo “all in one” organics fert (makes it easy ) ethier or doing both methods via drench or top dressing. Terp tea for fast intake or uprising line is the longer intaker from roots organics. the main differance from terp tea vs uprising is how they grind the product + microbes added down and a few math differences .

example: terp tea grow vs uprising

I apply both but 50% less outdoors to make the math not to excess, next indoor coco run I’m planing on trying just terp tea line and in my water cal/mag + misc and ph to 5.8-6

The soil on the two larger girls has been compacting quite a bit. Last night I took a bamboo kabob stick and aerated the Orion pretty aggressively. Upon reflecting on @Phylex ’s soil post I have started to wonder if I am starving the Orion and to a lesser degree the OJ. 2Tbs/gal every 3-4 weeks? I think I’ve maybe been doing 1.5 tsp/gal every 2-3 weeks. This along with improved watering practices might offer an opportunity to make and keep my plants happier. I’m looking for input from some of our soil with dry amendment peeps so: @Frimpong @Bubby's n da lab @JL2G what do you guys think?

I agree with the consensus that they look hungry. When I'm using top dressings for a immediately hungry plant I use an amendment like high N bat poop as it becomes bio available very quickly, almost immediately. Some amendments take up to 30 days to become bio available as the soil digests them, like crab meal. Imho I'd give them a good dollop of worm castings for some immediate N and micro nutes.

I do as well, I use some perlite, but have a good bit of pumice added in as well. Picked out the lava rock from the side of my house. Lol.
Thanks for weighing in guys. I certainly have a bit to learn when it comes to growing with organic inputs (and growing in general for that matter). I appreciate hearing about what has worked for you guys. Thanks a bunch!!
It's a learning curve for sure, I fuck shit up all the time. ???

Mechanical properties are sound, no ?
First and foremost media is to hold roots.
Roots are getting oxygen, no?
If your pots are taking water every couple of few days and not turning into cement,,,
I think you've already done better than most. Nor did you build something that is scorching the daily hell out of you plants.
Realistically , the plants are performing so well, they cant seem to get enough of it.

If there are no complaints other than the staying power late into flower : than it would seem you have possession of excellent seedling soil.

You always have the option of continuing to till it. Sprinkle the magic and keep working it until you can get it to perform.

Oohwee! She getting tall on you buddy? Lol, looks cookie dom, should be some good nuggets.
She is stretching, thought about maybe seeing if she’d respond to a little light bondage, but decided to hold off. If she stretches much more I may need to reconsider. Her bud sites are developing nicely, and I detected some early frost near the top bud site. I love it when the ladies start blooming!

Idk how tall she was when you flipped her. But judging from leaf shape, bud set, and internode spacing, she probably doesn't have too much more stretch left in her. How long ago did you flip?
