Cool Pics & Adventures

speaking of knives, just got a 3 piece 2025 holiday pack of Kershaws from Walmart for $30 bucks. Seemed like a decent price: set is 2.7 in, 2.8 in and 3 in all assisted open/liner lock
I wish mine were 30 bucks. Lol I have some customs that were a few hundred. Fixed blades and folders. I absolutely love it
Also kershaw is great
Here's one of my favorites ,the frej from Falkniven. PXL_20251114_173843782.jpg

"Cool" has different meanings. ;)

This tree is beside my driveway.
You can see hoar frost on the bare branches above and below the spruce tree. When I was at the lake today, everything was covered thickly with that. The whole world was sparkling in the sun. Of course, my phone was at home with my sonar transducer😔, so you'll have to settle for the driveway tree.

I have a KME but would recommend the work sharp system. They're well worth the money. Right around a hundred bucks I think maybe less
I have the ken onion work sharp, bought it new on a deal for 100 bucks 8yrs ago, works great, is simple, and is good also for ✂️ and pruning sheers. A high quality diamond steel after sharpening will keep knives razor sharp for months, before needing sharpening again. I also like @Amarok use my arm hair to test finished hone.

Yeah man there are several really good brands. Yours is very interesting. I have almost bought one a couple times. Nothing like a sharp blade man

Damn bro, for a second there I thought you ran Creamy Greases hahaha.

I love how trees look in Winter, it's so pretty :) We have had a few snows come down now, and the high temps have been around 30 or so. Tonight it's supposed to be 11 degrees, so I guess the AC can be shut off now. It's still in the window though haha. Never know when one of those fucking 65 degrees days can pop up out of no where.

These social clowns of our scrubland are bloody hilarious to watch . Squabbling and hanging upside down berating each other with noisy screeches and chatter . We owned one as a pet for 30 years and then handed it on to a conservation park where it lived happily until sadly a bush fire came through and it perished . I don’t think you’ll find a funnier bird on the planet personality wise . Such absolute clowns . This mob was pretty subdued in a tree close by . I was kind of grateful. They can crank up serious decibels . Australian Pink Galah . IMG_4573.jpeg

I just did a little reading. These guys are pretty cool. At first I was thinking it was weird that such an advanced, intelligent species would be so widespread and common and then I remembered my crow pals.

I always enjoy reading about the similarities and differences between parrots and corvids. Their intelligence is very similar, but there are two really big differences. If their individual advantages could be combined, they would rule the world. ;)

Parrots have a much longer lifespan but don't communicate and share knowledge like crows and ravens do. If corvids lived 10x longer, or parrots learned to use their intelligence to teach each other, it would be fascinating to see what they could accomplish.
