First up is a pain cream from Psychobilly and wife. I cut the recipe by 75% to allow myself the option of making other recipes with my infused coconut oil.

12 oz infused oil
3/4 cup bees wax
1 ml tea tree oil
3 ml mint oil
3-4 ml lavender oil {I used lemon oil for my first run}

Put bee's wax in a quart jar, add all liquids and place in crockpot on low.
Stir every few minutes with a plastic spoon.
Once the wax has been fully melted, remove from heat
Stir well and pour into short wide mouth jars. { at this point I hit it hard with an immersion blender and then I jarred it.}

Rub it in !

How about we start with that extraction method to get the 12 oz infused coconut oil, or is that posted elsewhere?

My main questions are the ratio of decarbinated hemp (flowers/untrimed/whole plant) and the use of non-activated plant material, again flower etc... and the ratio to the oil.

I don't have a set in stone method yet. What I 've done lately is to cram as much popcorn and small buds into a quart mason jar or 3. I leave about 2" of space to the top of the jar, I then fill the jar to within 3/4" with coconut oil.
The quart jars are set into my 8 quart electric pressure cooker which has about 2-3 inches of water in it. Important, The jar lids must be backed off about 3/4" before pressurizing or the jars will blow up.
I set the machine to the 'soup' setting for 40 minutes. This will get it up to a slow boil. when that is done and the pressure has gone down, I remove the jars and give them a 60 second shot with an immersion blender.
At this point I put a seed sprouter lid on the jar and pour into another jar. If I see many solids, I will keep the oil very warm and pour it through a paint filter. I put the finished oil in 8 oz ensure bottles and save in the freezer.
For this method, I don't decarb. I assume that 40 minutes in 212-degree oil should be similar. I only use trimmed small flowers, all lower quality plant material is claimed by my worms.

The spent plant material from my oil is used to make brownies.

I'm trying to figure out grams of material per ounce of oil that works and works well so i can make it and be consistent. I'll continue to experiment but it seems 1-2 gm to 1 oz oil and I've experimented with 3/4 of the material decarbed 250F 30 minutes.

I've also made THC coconut oil the same way. Both work so for us I mix them together. Legally I want to avoid adding THC and it doesn't need to be added.

I'm extracting very similar but with a crock pot on high 3 hours in jars just as you are doing, lid but never tight! It's got to be able to let out pressure. I do have a pressure cooker the same size I think 10-12 qts, large. I can get 5-6 8oz canning jars in either. Never really thought about using the pressure cooker. Makes great Taco meat? and I don't mind the 3 hr cook time or 30 min decarb. I'm sure some is decarbed in that 212F pressure cooker you use just as 25% of what I use that's not decarbed as my crock pot on high is 212F?

I'm also planning on trying some of my own home grown herbs to cover the hemp smell like lemon Basil, Sage and maybe Dill and Cilantro. I'd much rather produce as much as possible myself but I'm not getting a bee hive?

This is good stuff. I bet a lot of our member could use this and can start making it themselves using THC strains, hell lowers and trim work well, seriously.

Here's what I've follow the last batch, I made 1 of hemp and one of THC. Both worked?

Canna Skin Lotion

1 1/2 Cups infused coconut oil
1/3 Cup EVOO
1/3 Cup Beeswax
1 tsp Vitamin E oil
8-16ml Lavender oil

Place all items into a glass container place container into a crockpot water bath on low, stir well, remove from heat and cool.

This is magical stuff. This time for thr THC oil I used 8.5gms GDP decarbed, 4.1gm GDP and 4.1gm Black Abyss dried but not decarded.

CBD oil I used 8.5gms Cherry Wine hemp decarbed and 8.2gms fresh Cherry Wine hemp not decarbed.

I also infused the 1/2 cup EVOO with 3.5gms of GDP.

There are so many ways to work this. I won't try to break down ratios as these are for me. If I decide to go to market, that's when I'll dial it in. I'm certain the ratios mean everything when making oils for edibles. I love my pressure cooker. It is one of the electric Insta pot type. So easy a moron could use it. Set the temp, set the timer and done. the timer does not start until it's up to temp and shuts it down at the end.
The oil I used for this batch was made from a hot CBD. My wife doesn't smoke, so I grew some CBD strain to make some meds for her. She hated it and gave it back to me. So I tried her meds, big time buzz, way too much THC {for her}. Bottom line too much for her, not enough for me, OK I'll make pain cream. I am going to make 1 small batch of high test popcorn oil for my next cream. Just for comparison.
I'll keep posting my wins and losses, we all work together this should make sense in no time!

Some day, we'll be the Encyclopedia Brittanica of Cannabis :phenohunt:

That's one of the reasons I told the Wife to sign up; She wants to learn more about Terpenes and other aspects, and, well, this is where I go for actual info. Shit I'm not even trying to trust Leafly these days; Leafly and Allbud will have the info for the exact same strain, and give you two very different results for what the parental lineage is LOL.

Right you are buddy. I have closed off most of the places I used to frequent. I get all the answers, help, encouragement and humor without ever leaving here :phenohunt: (y)

I just spent the past half hour looking at what's available on etsy
Very interesting just how many people are doing this and the wide variety of products and pricing. Gotta be unique to catch people's eye. We also have 2 local Farmers markets, Escondido and San Marcos, both Tuesday afternoons and Vista Saturdays 8am-12noon. This one is large and has been around for over 40 years.

I could see working both the Vista market Saturdays and Escondido Tuesdays and of course a presence on Etsy and any other web base sale sites.

A half hour before that I searched and read a half dozen recipes from lotions to salves. I obviously have a lot more work and testing before even ordering jars?

Now, my friends, for the second pain cream recipe straight from @WillieP, Thanks brother(y).
The use of Tapioca flour is genius, makes it creamier and less greasy! I will be experimenting with it a I go along. Always something new to learn, cool!

1 C infused oil
1/2 C Shea butter
1/2 C Bee's wax
1/4 C Tapioca flour
Essential oils to one's personal taste

Heat all till melted
Mix well and pour into final containers
whip to aerate and let cool 5 min
continue the previous step until mixture starts to firm.

I made both of the above recipes and, they work well. I get about 10 hours on my arthritis in my hands. @WillieP stated that application at a fixed interval works best, and if your problem is long term, continue with fixed interval on the occasions where the pain backs off.
1 other note, I would recommend applying these creams a minimum of 45 minute before you retire for the night. That will give your skin time to absorb them, not your bedsheets!

May your pain become history

My wife is into crafting and so, I go to a few outdoor craft bazzaars and I have started to see the CBD creams and assorted items on a more regular basis. They did a good bit of business. They had the handcrafted theme going on. Folks [some] seem willing to part with more coin when something is truly handcrafted. Time to start taking some notes!
My brother lives in San Marcos. should be some decent opportunities for sure. Good luck pal(y)

I add cacao butter and shea to mine for lotions as well, otherwise pretty similar to your base recipe.
Awesome but we'd really like to see your recipe?

I'm currently experimenting as I type. I'm going to be making my regular sauve with different amounts of THC & CDB with ratios of 0.5g per 1oz oil, 1g per 1oz, 1.5g per 1oz & 2g per 1oz. I want to find the best amount of cannabolids per ounce of oil that works best without a lot of waste. Half gram per ounce may work as well as 2 grams.

So, Merry Christmas Eve from me, Tracy & soon to be Tracy's Homegrown?

Here's something I messed with yesterday
20221224_084926.jpg
Mixing lotions with infused coconut oil. I was worried it wouldn't mix and as you can see it did not. The oil floated and congealed, covering the lotion. I didn't whip the mix which I will do today.

The above "lotions" like all lotions have 75%+ distilled water which is what makes it a lotion. Sauves creams and lotions are all different animals.

The above lotions have hemp seed oil added. Very little I'm sure as it's the last ingredient listed. ?'s cashing in on the hemp rush. These are the types of people I honestly hate but we all have to deal with from time to time.

These will get bagged and tagged and frozen so I can revisit if I want at a future date.

Going to give my time to the sauve experiment today.

I've read a few that had corn starch used like the tapioca in that recipe you posted. I haven't tried either yet but may next week.

I bought 100oz of coconut oik and still have about 35oz so let the experiments begin?
