I cant say its the best since I have only tried/purchased one, but it sure works great. Though it took a bit of a learning curve to get the right temp on the dial (I set approx just a hair above 1/2) after a little practice & I now have it dialed in perfect! It gets the ceramic heating element to temp within a matter of seconds. Smooth flavorful hits and just lightly browned tobacco looking flower when finished. I think I got it for around $170 shipped after coupon code @spyralout hooked me up with. Comes with screens, and a small glass handled poker along with everything you see pictured. Comes ready to use right out of the bag. The carrying case alone is a very plush, pillow like item that exudes quality. You can also get accessories like an essential oil warmer that sits in the top and freshens the air while you vape (or leave it on all day like an electric candle warmer). Overall it is a well made item, its affordable in contrast to many vaporizors, and parts & accesories are readily available on their site. I'd recommend it for novice and seasoned smokers alike, certainly if you are budget minded.

The Da buddha is this company's stripped down version of there flagship product called the Silver Surfer. Not only is the Da buddha cheaper it has a slightly different design that is better in IMO. This unit is very easy to customize with a nice glass knob that can get pricey. You will always need a DB heater cover and a metal shim pack to get the heater cover tight. I run a silver surfer wand that fits in the DB heater cover fine which is a little bigger than the DB wand. They have a wand called a fatty that i do not care for the regular one works better and is cheaper. @HydroRed you can find these wands on sale from other retailers for around 20 dollars ( 420 sales are good ). I have been running this unit for over 10 years and have never found better whip hose than the manufacturer sells plus they have different colors so you do not have to look at the same colors. I have 4 wands and 4 whip hoses in the line up so i always have a clean one to use while a couple are soaking in dawn dish washing soap for a day or two. I have owned quite a few desk top units including the silver surfer but this is my default unit:) 101_0014.JPG

There is a teck where they filll the heating element area with small glass beads. Night and day difference in regards to how the draw is. Heats the bud munch faster. Dont have to go easy on the draw. I may ave to get one of these.

@Texagonian I have both units and i went back to the DB. Both units are very similar just a little different design. I use my SS wands in the DB all the time. The wand will rest in place on the DB . You need to purchase another part ( 20. usd) on the SS to hold the wand in place. While not necessary to leave the wand in place if you don't you have to find a place to lay it. Both are well made units and can be added to with a lot of accessories.

Appreciate the feedback. Looking to get it for my wife. She’s been complaining about the smoke even though it’s smooth and such, smoke is smoke. She’s been wanting one for years so I figured I should get her one. We aren’t getting any younger ??‍♂️

The 2-3' of whip hose does a fairly good job of cooling the vapor but you can still go another step and plug the whip right into a water pipe if you wish to do so. The company that makes it has always had great costumer service in the past when i dealt with them. Like i told Mr. Red it is best to have a couple of spare whips and hoses.

I took the hose to Lowes a couple of years ago and matched it's diameter in the plumbing section. Bought 10 feet for next to nothing.

Man i tried several different types of that hose being the tight ass that i am but i could not find any that was as soft and pliable as the stuff they sell. Also most of what i tried was the clear stuff but i like the colored hose so i don't have to look at the resin residue.

I have this iceborn thing and its ok but i think a personal cooler filled with ice...coil the hose up in there and you might stone yourself into a corner HARD.

This fall i will get right proper baked and get a plastic personal cooler and figure out a way to make the vape go through that...

I might get trapped in my vaping chair.

Some vapes will get you choking hotter than a gram of hash in a bong rip...i would not have believed it but i tap out after 2 volcano bags on 7...i think it goes to 11.

I am afraid of the da buddha after getting the last 2 bowls right on fire and that is a rough hit.

Its funny in a doob its smooth...that thing on fire is like smoking a newspaper.

i guess i could leave it on 5 or 6

You do have to be careful with the DB. Just the slightest breath the wrong direction spills the flower right on that ceramic rod YUK. Still happens to me 2-3 times a year seems like. 7 it what i keep my volcano set on as well.

Glad I found this. I'm a recent vape convert and was saving my pennies for a Volcano. Ordered the DB instead based on the recommendations here, along with the aroma therapy topper.

Question. I need to get the metal spacer/shim pack to secure the aroma therapy top? Also, what is the glass tube diameter used? 14mm or 18mm? I prefer to water cool my vape as well. Looks like I could put a glass wand on both ends of the rubber tube if I want to use it that way...

I have both units and i use the DB much more than the Volcano. They use metal shims to secure the heater cover on the unit. Which is supplied when you buy the unit. You want see the shims until you remove the heater cover for cleaning. Aroma therapy just sets on top of the unit. Once you grind your material up ( the finer the better). Take your whip and wand and and just suck the material into the wand like you are sucking on a straw. Half to three quarters full wand works best. I have a knock off sunday stack water pipe that i plug the whip into every now and then. I want to say 14mm if i remember right

Not to double post on a dead thread but here i go, doing it anyway lol

Any of ya tried the oil kit for the dbv? Looking into one, seems like a reasonable deal for $100 but always like to hear the first-hand experience of people I trust, IE y'all.

You mean the tray for essential oils to be used on DBV?
